garnier bb cream

Good light even coverage. The colour blended in very well.. I loved how it looked to start off with but as the day went on I found my face a bit splotchy. Other than that my skin looked very hydrated and not dry like usual.

Better than expected!

I have previously tried the Anti Ageing BB cream and reacted to it after a few days of consistent use, so I was pleasantly surprised by the BB Cream for sensitive skin. It is light and very easy to put on - nowhere near as thick as I found the Anti Ageing version. The coverage, while sheer and light, blended really well with my skin and helped my skin appear consistent - I struggle with rosacea and pimple prone skin, and it reduced the appearance of the redness while not in itself causing more breakouts. It also didn't cause any flare ups for my skin, reaction wise. I would definitely recommend it to my friends!

Tips: Less is more - you don't need a lot to give you even coverage...

I give BB an AA!

So I've been BBing all week and so far so good. I have pale sensitive, normal to dry skin and be careful about what I put on it. I haven't had much experience with BB's, but I think the Garnier BB is a good affordable option to start with or even stay with!

Being for sensitive skin it doesn't have a fragrance really, which is very important, only smells like a cream if that makes sense. I have the light shade. It is a lovely colour very light coverage but as it says on the tube if you want more just add a second coat, I only popped a touch more on my nose and cheeks to even out my colour a bit more when wearing it alone.

I wore it 3 different ways, alone no moisturiser, over top of moisturiser and as a primer for my foundation. Its not a thick cream so I just used my fingers. I liked it best with moisturiser on underneath, but I am a bit dry so if you aren't you might get away with not doing that. I LOVED it as my foundation primer. Made me foundation go on beautifuly and gave me a little dewy look to my skin. Which I am liking now my skins getting older!

Lovely as is, for day to day wear pop some BB on mascara, and lip gloss and I am set for my day as a mum, apply my makeup over top and look fresh and finished!

So I would say YES! Try it its a good affordable option.

Tips: Only tip I have is if wearing underneath foundation give it a minute or 2 to set before applying the next step. Enjoy!

first time make-up user

This was the first time iv ever used anything like this so I was both excited and nervous that I would look so silly with it on. I got the medium tone.

I started of by moisturizing my face and letting that dry up before applying the bb cream. To me it didnt feel too think or too runny when I put on my fingertips. I started of by putting on my red areas, around my nose and on my chin. Then I went on to do the rest of my face. I was really surprised by how easy it was to put on and how it blended right in with my skin. After putting it on, my face looked and felt amazing. It took away the red around my nose and my chin and you couldn't tell I had anything on which to me was really good. I was complemented on how soft and flawless my face looked which not only put a smile on my face it gave my confidence the little bit of a boost! I would definitely be buying some more of this when my one has ran out and will definitely be recommending this product to all my friends and family.

Clearing the sensitive issue

Being 50+ and being a little sensitive around the cheek area is clearly an issue for me. This variation of BB cream has an active ingredient called Allantoin which has been used for skin irritations such as dryness, redness, rosacea and even used as an anti ageing product, hence why I chose this one for the trial. The medium shade I chose blended perfectly well with my skin tone, The gel like texture is lightweight spreads very easily (I used my fingers with no problem) and I noticed was there was very little fragrance. I used it five mornings in a row and not once did I experience any irritation. It felt very lightweight, and my skin did not experience any dryness in fact it felt moisturised and soft. I tried it without moisturiser first which was absolutely fine and had no issues. Then I tried it after applying a moisturiser (I used an oil based one) and that didn't work out as well because the BB cream just seemed to smear and I ended up with a greasy patchy mess. It does not give a full coverage. The packaging says it is a sheer coverage and that's exactly what it does. You can apply a second application after the first dries for more coverage which is what I did, then I applied a mineral powder over the top and it looked flawless and smooth, except my spots from previous sun damage was still quite clearly visible. Unfortunately it did not on any of the five days last all day. By 1.30pm I needed to re apply, which I just don't have time to do when I am busy at work, but my skin still felt smooth and quite hydrated despite all that. I prefer my daily face creams to have an SPF of at least 30 but in this case the sun factor of just 15 in this cream is protection enough for the sensitive ones and I'm fine with that. The packaging is very detailed about its contents, active ingredients and instructions are simple and easy to follow. The tube of 50ml is the squeezing type and not the pump application and a couple of times I accidentally squeezed too much out and so the excess was totally wasted. I would certainly buy this product again after trialling it. You seriously only need to use a small amount at a time which means this 50ml tube is certainly going to last a very good while and for the price of $17.45 that is such good value. So it doesn't stay on all day but that can easily be rectified by reapplication. It does most of what it claims to do. A great daily All-In-One soothing, reliable, non irritating cream for those who like myself prefer a sheer flawless finish.

Tips: Use very little at a time when applying this and spread it before it dries otherwise it leaves dry patches. If you choose to use a moisturiser underneath I would suggest a water based one because the oil based one just kept the BB cream from settling into the skin properly. If you think its a tad greasy then just apply a powder over the top, even a bronzer would work and look good.

Good Value For Money

If you’re like me and you would like to save some cash while out beauty shopping (I know that doesn’t always work though…) then I would recommend you get this product. I was a BB newB (if I can play with words, lol) when I started using this product. I had ordered Lioele TTS a couple of months ago and never got to use it because the couriers didn’t deliver it, but that’s another story.

This story however, makes for a pretty decent ending. Garnier is a good, reputable brand, known over the world as a household name, and this product lives up to its standards. A little goes a long way, and yes, I am talking about the amount you put on your face. Just a drop is more than enough! I’d treat this as I treat a moisturizer.

The smell is what you’d expect it to smell like, a mix between a moisturizer and a foundation – and probably Granny too! It doesn’t necessarily smell bad, but it’s a smell I would have to get used to again.

The coverage is medium, I think a bit sheer, but it does make for an even complexion. It’s not entirely matte, but not dewy either, which was a bit off a put-off for me, because I am a full matte girl when it comes to foundations, but I just pop a bit of loose powder over it and that fixes my issues!

Overall, this is a good product. I think a 50ml tube would last you about two months from what I have gathered only using a drop or two at a time, which makes for a good, affordable product.

Tips: Just put on a drop at a time, you can always add more later on. I made the mistake of putting on way too much the first day and that didn't work. You end up wasting the product too. Treat this as you treat your moisturizer!

Brilliant moisturisation, lacks coverage

This BB is wonderful - light fresh smell, great compact size and soft, silky texture. It glides on perfectly, and absorbs well. I found that it treated my skin well, providing lots of moisture and no sting/harshness - felt like I wasn't wearing makeup at all! The only niggle I have is that I found the coverage was not as great as the Oil-Free Garnier BB so used a press powder on top.

Tips: Make sure to work it into the skin well for an even result.

Maybe not for winter

I don't usually wear BB cream in winter as I feel like there is not enough coverage. This time I wore it under my foundation and not only is it a good way to save foundation, it gave me the coverage that I wanted. However, I do have fair skin and decided that medium would be best for me. I found it to go on easily and covers well, as for blemishes, I'm still not completely sure. My skin feels more hydrated than it usually would if I was just to use foundation. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about this particular BB cream. It is difficult to fully try this product out in winter as I like more coverage than this gives. I would be keen to try this in summer to see it at its full potential.

Pretty good!

My skin is quite oily and I'm very sensitive to any fragrance so I love that it is fragrance free, it actually has no smell at all, not that weird chemically smell that some fragrance free products can have.

The consistency is thick like a foundation but when I smoothed it on my face it felt like a moisturiser and as cliche as it sounds I honestly felt like I wasn't wearing any makeup.

The coverage is not as much as a foundation but more than a tinted moisturiser and it lasts all day which surprised me. My skin felt hydrated all day too although I was a bit shiny by the end of the day. I probably need the oil free version, if only they made it in a fragrance free version!

The packaging is nothing special but it is practical, you don't accidently squeeze too much out and since it's a tube you're not sticking your fingers in it so it's hygienic.

Of the 5 claims on the front of the box I would say it delivers on 4 of them (reduces redness, hydrates, illumintes, decent SPF) but fails on the correcting blemishes part, there isn't enough coverage for that, I still needed my concealer.

The first day I used this I used it in place of my moisturiser and foundation and it lasted the whole day. The 2nd day I did the same but it was a warmer day and my face got a bit shiny so I had to powder it. The 3rd day I used it over top of my moisturiser and it was just too greasy. And today I put it on as soon as I woke up and wow, that's when I was most impressed, going from just woke up face to instantly healthy and illuminated!

I would say it is value for money because you only need a small amount of it to cover your face and neck so one tube will last for ages.

I would recommend this product. It is great to use when you don't want that feeling of foundation on your face but you still want coverage but you will still need concealer for problems like blemishes or under eye circles.

Tips: As weird as it feels to skip your moisturiser, do so when you use this product as that's one of the steps in your beauty routine it's supposed to take the place of!

Good coverage

First of all this BB cream definitely did what it said it would. It was very gentle on my skin and I had no problems causing any irritation.

The coverage of the BB cream was very good in my opinion. BB creams are usually used for everyday use or just as a light coverage which I found it definitely delivered on.

After wearing it for a few hours it did become a little bit patchy around dry areas of my skin so I used it with a primer and this problem was minimized.

The packaging of this product is very sleek and I think it looks very aesthetically pleasing and professional. The tube is a squeeze tube which squeezes out of the bottom, it can be hard to not squeeze out too much though so only squeeze a little bit.

The texture of the BB cream is very nice. It is very smooth but not too runny so you don't feel like you are just putting a light moisturizer on. It is very creamy also.

After applying it with my fingers and with a brush I decided it is easier to get a more even coverage by using a brush as it does not blend very easily with fingers because of the creamy texture.

I am very happy with the fact that it has SPF as it is good to wear just as a light coverage during the day and not have to worry about sunscreen as well.

Tips: Apply with primer before and moisturizer.

Apply with a synthetic liquid foundation brush rather than fingers

Take extra care in making sure there is even coverage

You do need to use sunscreen too, unless you applied 1/4 tsp of it. For the amount I would wear of it, the protection would be more like SPF 3 or 4 which isn't enough.
