Finally a powder that can handle my oily skin

I own this in the shade 003 Peach Glow which is a perfect match for my skin. Normally whenever I try to find a powder it makes me look ghostly pale or cakey orange, but this is such a perfect match for me; it looks completely natural and you cannot detect I'm wearing powder, which is the whole point, isn't it? The packaging isn't very good for putting in your handbag or travelling as the lid slips off quite easily. The powder has a cute fleur-de-lis design on it which was a nice touch. The powder has a slight perfumey scent to it, which I'm not used to in a powder, but I like it as some of my past powders have had an awful chemical smell that annoys me all day, whereas this one's scent goes unnoticed to me when I am wearing it. The powder blends really well over my bare skin and over my foundation and it really does keep my skin matte. I have very oily skin and in the past, whenever I've used powder I'd still end up with a shiny face by lunch time, but the Stay Matte powder completely prevents that. I can safely wear it all day without a hint of oiliness or shine. However, this certainly does not stay matte over my BB cream. When I used this on top of my BB cream the powder caked and did not stay matte at all, but I don't mind very much as I mainly use powder over foundation. I would definitely repurchase this because it keeps my make-up matte for a pretty low price.

Tips: Don't use over BB cream, as the powder doesn't stay matte over top of it.

Pressed Powder

My holy grail of powders. Apart from the fact my son loves to eat it, this product is flawless. It sets my foundation no problem, doesn't appear chalky, is the perfect shade. Just love love love it. I use a general powder brush and apply after foundation and it seems to last all day. It doesn't appear chalky if applied twice, easily blends into the skin if worn alone otherwise it absorbs into the foundation giving a matte almost make-up-less appearance. Personally i like to apply a lot, as in i swirl the brush with the product each time i go to set a new area which ends up being about 8-10 times and then gently buff off any excess product. Definitely something worth trying if you haven't found a decent powder or something with a cheap price tag as this definitely lasts longer than some other powders ive brought that are between $25-$30. I do have dry skin so my face is pretty matte anyway but it stops any unwanted shine from the foundation.

Tips: Definitely apply with a brush and wait a couple minutes to set then buff off excess to stop caking or an unnatural looking finish.

Good But Not Amazing

I got the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder to go with my Rimmel Foundation.

Picking a pressed powder was an interesting experience as the shade 001 of the powder was transluscent whereas 001 of the foundation was ivory, so I ended up getting 003 in the powder and 001 in the foundation as they were the best colour match. So I would have liked to have seen both an ivory foundation and powder that I instantly knew matched.

When applying the pressed powder it spread smoothly and evenly across the skin, leaving nearly no stray powder unlike loose powder. However unlike loose powder I also didn't get much product or colour. It did however instantly mattify the skin and lock in the foundation for the whole day.

That this powder made my foundation last significantly longer is the one reason I would buy it again.

I felt the packaging was very cheap but I did like the Rimmel logo in the powder.

I don't get too many shine issues, but I believe it would help this too.

Great product!

I used the translucent powder as i am quite pale and rimmel's pale coloured shades are usually too dark for me. I found that the product worked well and kept my face matte! The powder isn't too think so it doesn't leave you feeling like you have a huge amount of product on your face. My only complaint is that the translucent shade does have a slight colour to it rather than being totally translucent but it isn't an issue.

Rimmel Stay Matte...Keeps you matte

Perfect as a setting powder over foundation or a BB cream especially in those area's prone to shininess (T-zone). An amazing product available at an affordable price. I got mine for just under $10 off asos (with free shipping also). I find this gives the same if not better results than similar products from higher end brands for a lot less money. It comes in a translucent shade which is the one I use as I don't want more coverage just the mattifying effect it gives and a product to set my foundation. Also comes in a few skin shades so definitely build able coverage also if you choose those. It is a very mattifying powder though so I only use sparingly on areas that get oily. All over the face can make me appear a bit flat I find and I do like the dewy look on the cheeks.

I've Been Using This For The Last Month and Love!

I purchased this because I wanted to make my makeup last super long for a formal evening function a few weeks ago and have been using it for the last month. Super happy to see it on BR because it's both my first and favourite matte pressed powder!

I do a lot of in-front-of-camera work and shiny skin is the bane of my existence. This stuff instantly mattifies and, if you get one of the tinted versions, smooths out your skin tone. I prefer using 01 Transparent though, so that the contouring is seen clearly. It pats on white, buti f you blend it with a fluffy brush, it goes transparent. You can try on your hand to see for yourself. I have combination skin, but recommended to a friend with very oily skin (teenage woes). No matter how oily you are, it will mattify. Magic.

It also definitely makes creamy foundations longer lasting. I was using some foundation sticks that have a creamy gel formula and I found they were wiping off quite easily and also shifting around the place. The powder kept it in place flawlessly without any touchups at all for 8h, which I thought was pretty impressive.

I love this, it's so affordable! Complete Rimmel London fan.

Tips: Store with a hairtie around it so the lid doesn't just fly off in your handbag. Also dab it into your skin before lightly blending by skimming a brush over for the best effect.

Bye Bye Shine

I have an oily T-zone, and not the pretty "oooh natural highlighter" sort of way, more of the "you look like you dumped your face in oil" kinda way. Needless to say, I was on the hunt for a powder that not only kept my foundation on all day, but also kept the oil master away. So after seeing this product raved about on YouTube I definitely had to give it a go. And for the past 3 compacts, I NOT been disappointed!

I absolutely love this product. It definitely does what it says and keeps me matte all day - without looking completely flat thought. BONUS! It is very fine and the magical powder particles are like tiny wee fairies that just soak up all the oil - bye bye!

It does not look cakey on my skin and looks great in photos.

Definitely a must have - and at the price, why would you even second guess it?

Tips: Be careful transporting this product as the packaging isn't the sturdiest and the lid does tend to come off - dammit.

Great Price For A Great Product

This is the kind of product that I use until the very last crumbly bits and then eagerly delve into the new one I have waiting in line! It's such a great setting powder for my foundation and the finish is great! That being said, I have recently discovered Maybelline's Matte Maker pressed powder and the finish is ever so slightly better. I say this because I feel that the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder has a very light shimmer in it (you may not think this at all), where as the Maybelline one is true matte (in my opinion) and it applies more even as well! But as far as the Rimmal Stay Matte Pressed Powder goes, it was the first Matte Pressed Powder that I owned and I have loved it very much and I would still recommend it to a friend without a doubt. Amazing value for your money!

Tips: Using a large fluffy brush or a kabuki brush etc, dust an even amount of Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder onto the brush, tap off any excess and then pat lightly onto your face. Start from the center and move outwards. At the edges use ,light circular motions to buff out all the edges to prevent a cakey look or a foundation line!

Cheap, and it does what it says it does!

I have been using Rimmel's stay matte powder for about 2 years now. I was in desperate need of a setting powder, but I was (and still am) a student. I saw this at the warehouse and it was the cheapest one I could find, so I decided to give it a whirl, and I've never looked back!

I use the shade translucent 001 for my natural skin tone, and there isn't a shade suitable for me when I am fake tanned.

I use a large, fluffy powder brush to apply the product all over my face to set my foundation. A little product goes a long way, if you use too much it can look cakey. It is definitely mattifying. My skin type is oily, pimple-prone and extremely sensitive, so I do need to be careful about what I apply to my face. The powder reduces the oiliness of my skin, so obviously keeps my skin matte as it says it does. If I do get a bit oily later in the day (or night) I can just apply a small amount to the affected areas, and it decreases the oiliness. The produst last about 6 hours before having to reapply, but this would depend on how oily your skin is.

I like the simple, clear packaging of stay matte powder. The clear, large writing also makes it obvious what the product is without having to dig all through your make up. what the Obviously the product has a powdery consistency. Stay matte powder doesn't really have a fragrance. It just smells 'make-upy' and not unpleasant.

I will definitely be repurchasing this product when I run out. It is very effective, so I would also definitely recommend it to others.

Tips: Look out for stay matte powder on special at the Warehouse and Farmers
