Never have I ever been a DIY type of girl when it comes to finger nails! However, recently I was unable to get a last minute appointment at any nail place in town, so I went to Farmers and bought a set of these.
My expectations certainly weren't very high, but as I was heading to an awards dinner, I really wanted to compliment my outfit with a nice set of tidy nails.
These were extremely simple to apply, and I was quite impressed with the variety of sizes included in the pack. I have very small hands, and small nail-beds.
I think the entire process took me maybe 15 - 20 minutes from start to finish, including filing them to length.
Overall I was really happy with these. It looked like I'd been and had my nails done, but for less than half the price.
These stayed on for nearly two weeks before they began to lift at the edges.
I'd definitely use these again.
I tried these in the Bellini Blush set that I won in a prize pack - a set with plain pinky toned brown nails, and nude accent nails with a jewel on top and clear stripes through the nail. I have quite small hands, but this said there were sizes for petite nails so I figured it'd be fine, but these really didn't fit my hands. The set comes with a nail file to file the nails to size which is a nice touch, nail glue, and instructions. I liked that the set has extra nails in it for sizing options, and works out to be two sets worth, and that the instructions provided options for longer term wear, or shorter term wear of the nails. I also liked that these are vegan and cruelty free. However, I didn't like how these performed or looked. The nail glue as you'd expect as a typical nail glue scent and you are supposed to apply it to the centre of the nail for short term wear, press down hard for a short period and you're good to go. I found that the glue didn't stick very well at all, I was able to accidentally pop a few off later the same day I applied, despite following instructions and not letting my hands get wet, which is not what I'd expect for nails of this price. The nails were all really wide, and while there were smaller sizes to accommodate, I didn't find there were enough smaller options so I wouldn't be able to get 2 sets of ten nails out of the 24 pack at all. I know one is meant to file the nails to fit, but the degree to which I had to file them to fit was way too much and I may as well have just painted my own nails! I caution this with that I do have small hands so this won't apply to everyone, but as the product advertising promised it'd fit petite hands I expected it to deliver, I've had better luck with cheap Kmart nails fitting my nails more. I also found while in the packet the nails looked amazing, but when applied, the accent nails did look very plastic due to their design, and tacky. As they have clear stripes running through them, it becomes very clear the nails are plastic, and not acrylics, and I find it looked tacky. The tops of the nails were also really rough and jagged in my packet; while I filed this away, I thought this was poor quality, as I was already happy with the nail length (it was the width that was the issue) so I didn't want to be filing them but I had to. I just found these involved so much work for something that's meant to be fun and easy, and the nails were far too big to fit my hands. I've had better experiences with glue on nails that are a fraction of the price.
