The coverage of this nail polish was really nice - thick and opaque after two coats. The colour is gorgeous! Perfect for winter, and catches the light really nicely with the reflective glitters. The only downside for me was the texture; some friends I had shown this to really liked the texture, but for me it was like nails on a chalkboard and made my skin crawl a little everytime I touched it. It didn't chip and was pretty difficult to remove! (need to soak the nails). I don't think I could wear this for long periods of time due to the sandy texture, but the colour is lovely. Also, I found my makeup (while I applied it) settled in the textured polish which was annoying and difficult to clean. I LOVE the matte finish. Overall, worth a try! Tips: Soak your nails a little in polish before trying to remove with a cotton pad, as it's harder to remove than even stubborn glitter polishes.
I Found this nail polish to be really surprising, I followed the intructions of placing one coat of base and then two coats of polish and found the colour to be alot pinker than in the bottle, I think I like the colour it comes out as more than what is in the bottle.
This wasn't what I expected - I like the colour, it stays on really well, dries fast and looks great on. BUT I am not too keen on the texture and its HARD to get off.
Tips: Def use 2 coats of this one :) I had to soak my nails in remover for a few mins to loosen all that glitter and then it came off fine.
I was really looking forward to trying this as I am a massive fan of opi but was left a little bit disappointed. With caviar nails being the in thing I think opi tried to make liquid sand a quick, easy way of achieving that look but with Mariah Carey - Stay the night colour combination it just looks really cheap. Aside from that the polish is thick, fast drying and has a great staying power.
Tips: Put a coat of clear nail polish over the top to make it a bit more special Dont wear clothes that easily snag because as strange as it seems my nails kept snagging clothes with this polish
Although this product didn't live up to my expectations, it is a reasonable nail polish with a new and unique finish. The new liquid sand technology dries with a matte finish, as it is expected to, and feels literally like sand has been glued onto your nails. Although the surface dries quickly enough, the texture of the polish causes the underneath to dry slower, and can take up to half an hour. Although the polish did stay on for a week, it chipped quite easily and was starting to wear within a day (with three coats on). When removing the polish, the glitter took a while to come off, and the colour slightly stained my nails. I recommend wearing two base coats to prevent this happening and soaking the nail in remover, before wiping with a cotton swab. Overall, this product has a unique dried effect on the nails, BUT, I recommend this for the younger audience, as it does not have a very professional, sleek look (as I mentioned before about the sand glued on to nails).
Tips: Wear a topcoat of clear polish to achieve a more mainstream look, and help the shine to come through.
A very sparkly nail polish, one that I would happily wear out on a night out in town. I did find that the finish is quite rough due to the sparkle so you will definitely need a clear top coat just to smooth it out. Apart from that, it's a shade that would please all ages. My little girls love this nail polish due to the colour & especially the sparkle.
Tips: You definitely need a clear top coat is the finish is a bit too rough.
I wasn't thrilled when this "texture" trend started but thought I mustn't judge too quickly. Don't knock it til you try it, and all that jazz.
So I tried it.
It was... fine. It took two coats and it looked the way I expected. Just one left it looking a bit bare and thin, but the texture was still present.
The red/pink within black is quite pretty but at the end of the day I just didn't like the rough texture - to see or to touch.
I wanted to see how it would look under gloss. The good news is that it looks amazing. The bad news is it takes at least three layers of top-coat to smooth it out! Who has time for that?
I think I'll leave texture to the real trend addicts. I like my nails glossy and polished looking.
Tips: It's exactly as you'd expect. If you don't dig the look, I wouldn't buy it.

I was lucky enough to be one of the few chosen to review this nail polish. So that being said i feel awful giving it a bad review, but we are here to be honest to help your decision on whether this is for you.
When Monkeys Fly is a sheer glitter polish, large gold hex glitters combined with smaller silver hex and circle holo glitters in a clear base. The consistency isn't too thick, nor too thin. That's not where the application goes wrong.
This looks stunning in the bottle but before even opening the bottle i could tell that the large gold hexes have a curve to it. This makes it extremely annoying when applying to the nail as it is very difficult to get a smooth coat.
As with any chunky glitter polishes, you just need a little patience. Have a wee play and push the glitter pieces around till you get the uniformity you desire.
I personally would prefer the gold hexes to be a little bit smaller for ease of application and a little more of a flattering look to smaller nails and a little extra small holo glitter (im a sucker for holo). However that been said it is described as a top coat to be used over a colour base.
Personally if i want this kind of look i would apply my own glitter and hexes over a clear wet top coat, i think this would be less time consuming.
To conclude, this is stunning in the bottle but on the nails it just makes me wonder why they even bothered putting the glitter in the top coat in the first place!
Tips: Have a toothpick or tweezers handy to turn the large hex glitters over so that they hug the nail rather than stick up and make the nail feel all rough and jagged.
I love the O.P.I When Monkeys Fly. I have tried lots of different glitter nailpolished but most of them chip and parts of the glitter come off. But this O.P.I nailpolish has been amazing, it has lasted for one whole week without chips. The transparent colour is perfect over other colours, it also looks great when worn by itself. I would definately buy this again and recommed every girly girl at least owns one of the glitter When Monkeys Fly by OPI. :)
Tips: Great to be worn over other nail polishes as an outer coating!!
Awesome product!!! Easily applied, I found two coats were enough, although if wanting to go that little bit darker, a third wouldn't hurt. Relatively quick to dry. Dries to a matte finish, with the glitter giving it a textured feel. A wee bit hard to remove, although, a lot of the glitter polishes are. But overall, great product and would definitely try the others in the range too!!!
Tips: Wear gloves where and when possible to prolong the life of the polish on your finger. It definitely is a solid polish, but can tend to chip slightly during washing dishes.
