Application & Finish: In my opinion this foundation is a little streaky, the first time I used it I applied it with just my fingers and the finish this gave was noticeably (to me at least) streaky and uneven. I now apply it with my real techniques expert face brush and this gives me a nice even satin finish. It also works really well with a sponge applicator (e.g. a beauty blender) but just a brush is fine. Something I noticed with the foundation was that when my skin was kind of dry and flaky (I have combination skin, so mostly it’s oily but sometimes I get dry patches) the foundation looked quite cakey and accentuated the problem. However, I was on holiday and hadn’t been using my face scrub, which I think was part of the problem. My advice: Don't skip regular exfoliation and moisturising if you want to wear this foundation.
Lasting Power: My skin can be quite oily and I have to say I wasn't that impressed by the “Superstay”s staying power. I didn't really notice my face visibly going shiny while I was wearing it, but rather that when I went to take my makeup off at the end of the day there was barely any foundation left to remove. I haven't tried it with a primer, as I don't have one, maybe that’s my issue?
Coverage: The coverage is, in my opinion, quite light. It doesn't look as perfect on as I might have hoped, and I think it should definitely be paired with a good concealer for dark under eye circles, blemishes, and scarring. As I said I've never worn a foundation before but thankfully this foundation doesn't feel heavy or cakey on the face (except for in the instance I mentioned earlier).
Shades: The shade range is mildly disappointing as there are no very pale shades or shades for dark skin tones. I wear the shade Light Beige 005, which is an okay match for me but is a bit too dark. It’s the lightest shade available in the range and it really isn’t all that pale/fair.
Claims: In my experience the claims of better skin weren’t true. The foundation didn’t cause me to break out or anything but I didn’t notice any improvements to my skin while using this. Like with any foundation, you’re better off not wearing any makeup if you want your skin to get better.
Overall Impression: It's an okay foundation but it's not great For now I will continue to use this foundation but I don’t think that I’ll repurchase it when it eventually runs out. Would I recommend it to others? If you have a normal skin type and are okay with a light coverage then, yeah.
So i won this foundation from the competition BR was running and after trying to decide what colour would match me properly off a photo via the internet, i chose the colour Nude. Now that was a good choice on my part, it matches perfectly.
I have been using this foundation since the end of October, and i love it, not once have i broke out in face demons. I tend to apply it 7am and its still has pretty great staying power by 8pm/10pm and i have slightly oily skin, so the 'superstay' power works in my favour.
Its easy to apply (i use a beauty blender), this product isnt heavy or cakey for me. I do use it over top of a primer and finish it off with a light dusting of whatever powder reaches my hand first (usually a revlon powder)
So overall it is a great liquid foundation and i do recommend people to at least try it if curious about it :)
Tips: Apply with a slightly damp beauty blender for a smoother finish :)
