Mac Lipsticks

I have a few Mac lipsticks and all of them are great. My most used lippy colour would be "Heroine" made famous by our very own Lorde which is a bright violet purple, it easily vamps up any make up look. I've found the application to be quite creamy but dries matte.

I've always thought the price of Mac lipsticks are a bit of a stretch for what they are as I use Jordana lipsticks just as much for a fifth of the price but in saying that I love the variety of different shades that Mac offers.

Mac Lipstick

Wow, my first Mac lipstick, infact my first Mac product ever, to be honest I am taken in a bit with the hype of Mac products. I am expecting something good on this.

The colour I picked was St Germain, this is a amplified crème lipstick in pale pastel pink. When I opened the packet I was a little down I thought I had picked a fushcia/magenta colour, never mind these things happen and I have other clothes that this will go with. The lipstick tube is a black bullet shape with a brushed metal band and "MAC" written at the base of the lid in silver, a basic elegance was the aim I am thinking and highly identifible. The lip stick goes on cleanly when applied and feels instantly soft on the lips. The lipstick has a vanilla scent to it that sticks around, much like the colour as well. On the days that I wear it I only reapply twice, lunchtime and before I leave work and there is still plenty of colour still on my lips at that point. The mistake colour has become my favourite for statement lips in the short time I have had it. It has a moisturising feel to the lipstick that hits as it is being applied to the lips.

If price was not an option I would be buying a few more of these with no issue but I will stick to finding a few colours that I will wear on a regular basis to get, I won't be buying colours that I only wear once or twice.

Tips: St Germain shows on white disposable coffee cup lids as a fluro pink but it sticks tight to your lips.

Love

I received my first ever mac lipstick on Christmas last year and i was in LOVE. It was the shade, neon orange. The texture is creamy, it glides on easily, and its super pigmented. Two months ago i received my second ever mac lipstick in 'sin' I LOVE the color, although i am disappointed that it rubs off so easily and actually goes quite patchy and crusty i would most definitely go out and buy 'sin' once i ran out of it, i need to invest in a lip scrub as it might just be my lips that make this lipstick go patchy, overall i would definitely go out and buy a mac lipstick :)

Tips: Use a lip scrub and moisturize lips before using lipstick :)

Worth it's weight in Gold.

If you've ever heard this saying "worth its weight in gold" then you would know it mean it's extremely useful or worthy. Mac was in my wish list of items to buy. I was gifted this beautiful lipstick by a fellow Beauty Review member. She sent it as a gift for becoming a review hero. I wanted to make it extra special by making this my 200th review also. This lipstick truly means a lot to me. Having one of these lipsticks in my collection has been a blessing.

When this lipstick arrived to me it came in this black Mac box. Down the side of this box is MAC labelling with Satin Lipstick written down the side. I opened this box to find this black bullet shaped lipstick case. It has this beautiful silver shimmer in it. MAC is engraved in it with this silver lining central to the lipstick case. This is one of my stand out of my collection lipstick cases. It's sophisticated and chic. On the base of this lipstick is the name of this lipstick. I was given Rebel.

When I first tried it I wore it out on my 10 year anniversary with my partner. When I applied it smoothly glided on to my lips. This colour is a deep wine red . I enjoy this colour it's within my colour palette. This colour lasted me all night until I had something to eat. It did slightly come off. I did a little touch up and the colour lasted me for the rest of the night.

One of these would roughly cost about $35 to $40 dollars each. The quality in the packaging is so good. The lipstick itself is so hydrating and smooth. It's not drying or overly greasy like others I've tried. Would I buy this lipstick again. I definitely would because it ticks all the boxes for me I'm normally a bargain girl, but this is certainly worth buying if you want quality.

Matte & Satin Finishes

I admit it, I used to be that girl who always said she'd never use MAC....... Well look at me now! I can't get enough of their lipsticks, wow they are truly gorgeous and worth every penny. I currently own 9 MAC lipsticks - 8 Matte and 1 Satin. Let's talk about the Satin finish first.

I have Sushi Kiss and I lusted after this shade for so, so long. When it first released and was limited edition I was extremely disappointed that I missed out on it, then they brought it back and made it permanent! When I finally caved and made my second MAC lipstick order I grabbed this one.....I was so disappointed. I honestly expected this to be similar to the matte finishes just slightly more creamy/not as drying but this is nothing like what I was hoping for. It's so slippery, it clings to every little line and sinks in, it takes swipe after swipe to become opaque and it wears off extremely fast. The colour is so stunning, I am very sad that this didn't work for me. I am thinking I need the MAC Lip Primer to try with it....

The rest of my lipsticks are mattes, I have Heroine, Yash, Smoked Purple, Stone, Naturally Transformed from the permanent line and then Gunner, Hautecore & Styled in Sepia from limited edition lines. With the exception of Gunner and Hautecore, all of these mattes are the same formula across the board - more or less. Yash is slightly thinner and creamer and Smoked Purple is more stiff and drier. Gunner and Hautecore don't perform the same at all, they feel oiler and thinner and don't seem to cling and hold on the lips as well.

Overall, MAC Matte lipsticks are on point across the board, limited editions can be a little sketchy but that doesn't make a huge difference since they still apply 10x better than the Satin formula. My MAC lipstick wishlist is rather long but I don't think I'll be delving into the other finishes, I'm a matte girl through and through.

Purple lippies

I have the shade violetta and it's absoutely stunning. It lasts all day and when it does start to fade it fades into this gorgeous pinky colour and it makes your lips are smooth and kissable. In AUD it is very pricey ($35) but it is worth the money. It's packaging is very modern and eyecatching and it has a nice vanilla fragrance. This is such a great colour all season round and it's the perfect shade if you want to stand out from the crowd.

Mac me up <3

First lipstick I ever purchased from MAC was Kinda Sexy Matte and been hooked ever since. They have such beautiful shades in nudes and so really great colours for the office. Very expensive in my opinion but worth every penny.

Honey love mac lipstick

Can't even say in words how fantastic this lip stick is, I do find the price expensive at $40 a stick, but it really does feel that price and also stays on unlike the rest of these false advertising ads, I like the matte looks not the shined ones, and I've used a few different colours in the matte range and they all work the same, wonderful

Tips: Always exfoliate your lips with your toothbrush at night, give them a brush, they need to be cared for as well

I love them.

I own 4 Mac lipsticks and would love to own so many more. I have pure Zen, Russian red, kinda sexy and brick-o-la. I haven't been disappointed by any of them. They are gentle on the lips and long wearing and I also really like the packaging.

Tips: Learn about the different finishes they offer before making a purchase as some people may not like the Sheerness of a lustre or a more dry looking matte.

Marvellous MAC!

Well, MAC was voted best lipstick award on BR- and I most definitely agree. It took me a while to purchase a MAC lipstick, I just wish I had done it sooner! These lipsticks are so lovely and I am so impressed. Do they live up to the hype? Most definitely!

I've now tried quite a few of the different finishes and cremesheen would have to be my favourite, as they are so moisturising to my dry (and sometimes sensitive) lips.

The packaging is stylish and so sleek. What you would expect from MAC! The lipstick comes in a bullet-shaped case, and it's just the signature, iconic MAC look.

The formula applies like a dream, it glides over your lips and the colour is so pigmented. The colour choices are amazing and I just want to add more to my collection.

I've been constantly reaching for my MAC 'on hold' cremesheen - it's a beautifully flattering reddy-coral and slightly raspberry colour that has become one of my everyday favourites. It's red based but more toned down than classic reds, making it perfect for everyday wear - I'm totally in love with the colour!

One I like to wear on evenings out is Ruby Woo, a matte finish perfect red. Such a classic - I think everyone needs this colour. I have an ever growing wishlist of colours I want to add to my collection, including candy yum yum, velvet teddy and girl about town.

I love MAC lipsticks, and they are so worthy of the best lipstick award by beauty review! This has ignited my love of MAC and now am the proud owner of lippies, foundation and my list keeps growing!
