Bold. Opaque. Recklessly loaded with pigment. For lips that speak louder than words.

Magical!

+ Packaging : From the shipping box to the lipstick casing itself LC products are magical eye candy! The purpley-pink colour is vibrant and extremely attractive and honestly who can resist a sparkly unicorn???

+ Product : The consistency is thick and creamy and very opaque. I find they stay moist while on the lips but I do notice my lips feel a bit dry after removal (but I have that with most thick lipsticks). The inside "wet" area of my lips extends quite far out for me so I often have an area that lipstick will not stick too and it's more obvious with these colours. I need to touch up a lot.

** I personally own 5 colours, below are my thoughts on each...

Mint To Be : Now I have to admit this one is tricky to pull off. I have only worn it for a couple of photos and once for a dress up party. It's very out there and not the most flattering... BUT I knew all that before buying and I got it anyway because, well MINT and I love the colour so had to have it. It's a beautiful colour that I think may suit darker skinned girls more than us that are ghost white ;)

Glamour 101 : I ADORE this colour! It's a rich deep red that is extremely flattering and looks fab on my pale skin and dark hair. I don't think anyone can go wrong with this shade. Some red lipsticks are too orangey or too purpley in tone but this is neither of those things. It's the perfect snow white lipstick :D

D'Lilac : Another tricky one to wear every day... It's a really sweet light pastel purple that looks really good mixed with other pink lipsticks. I tend to apply and then cover with a pink gloss or do half and half and then blend for a cool ombre look.

Centrafuschia : Hot pink!!! Again, can't really go wrong unless perhaps you have very pink toned skin. It's bold and beautiful. I wear this on it's own or mixed with Great Pink Planet. This is a really sexy pink lipstick. Get it!

Great Pink Planet : Barbie, Cupcakes, Sparkles, Princesses and Unicorns - all things that spring to mind when I think about this colour. It's adorable in every sense of the word. This one I find need a little bit of going over to get full even coverage but that could just be my lips. It's a classic and I highly recommend for any girly girl.

Overall Thoughts: A must have addition to any beauty lovers collection. If you want value for money stick to classic colours and maybe avoid the "crazy" shades.

Tips: If you have dry lips make sure you prep before wearing these as they are a tad drying. I find applying a little bit of foundation first can help with keeping the colour on my lips.

I want them ALL

I recently purchased my first Lime Crime lippie, Poisonberry, quickly followed by my second, D'lilac.. I now have a new addiction and I cant wait to own them all. Poisonberry is a dark berry purple, loaded with pigment and the perfect colour for winter! I had so many compliments as soon as I had it on. D'lilac is a beautiful pale and extremely creamy lilac, it's like heaven on your lips! Love Love Love!!

Babette & Geradium

I had heard so many rave reviews from the BR ladies on these little gems that I finally had to try them. I picked the shades Geradium and Babette.First off packaging – this is the most fun vibrant funky little tube of lipstick I have ever owned with its bright purple/pink canitster and silver stars and unicorn it’s a definate standout in my books !.Before both colours I made sure to prime my lips with a scrub and a lip balm as I had heard these can be a little drying. Babette – I was super dying to try this colour the swatch on the lime crime website is a nude pinky corally colour which I thought would be a perfect nude for me on my lips – however in real life the colours are not the same. In the tube it looks like a nude pink based colour I still actually luckily really love babette for me , its much more pinky in the tube and on my lips than the official swatch but I did still love this. It applied easily not streaky or patchy glides on and is super pigmented and opaque. I am pleased I used a lip balm first as these are a little on the dry side although with the right priming it wasn’t an issue. This did transfer to my coffee cup which I really hate but on the bright side when I checked my lips they werent patchy or horrible they still looked the same so im happy with that I don’t know how that works but it did. This wore for a few hours easily before needing to be touched up. I am definitely pleased I purchased this colour – this will be an everyday easy to use staple for me I think just the right kind of shade for my skin tone. A really good bright nude. Geradium – I actually ordered this one by mistake but again super happy I did. I was dissapointed that again the lime crime official swatch actually isnt what I got in my hot little hands – however I was lucky that I am a huge fan of pinky based lipsticks so this still was a great lippie for me. The lime crime official swatch has a totally different pink tone to what you get in real life its much more barbieesque and pink. Again this is super pigmented and applied brilliantly you don’t need to use a lot to get a super opaque finish. This was a bright standout colour probably not for everyone but I have always loved a bright pink so this fits nicely into my collection. This had a similar problem to Babette in that it did transfer to your coffee mugs etc but again it didn’t leave you with nothing on your lips it somehow still looks the same. Again this lasted a few hours before needing a redo which is good in my books. These are quite a pricey lipstick and while I do actually love the colours I got I wouldn’t buy anymore as their swatches just don’t match what you actually get I was lucky I loved mine but I don’t understand how they are so different. All in all though these are a neat little addition to my collection and I am not unhappy with my purchases.

Tips: These are super opaque so you don't need to use alot

My "Go to" lippie!!

love love love!! absolutely awesome. I have 2 colours in Babette and Glamour 101. Has lasted me months as you only need 1 layer. Colour is soo pigmented and creamy. Packaging is very cute and sturdy compared with my other lipsticks..I have proberly the most wearable shades but if you love to be a bit different there is some amazing unusual colours that are waiting to be rocked on a night out!!

Tips: buy it!! these are always sold out so if you can find this product at least buy 1!! The most Opaque lipstick I have come across.

Love/Hate Relationship

Where do I start with Lime Crime! I first heard about the Lime Crime range a couple of years ago when I saw the beautifully packaged lipsticks and lipglosses on Trade Me. I instantly fell in love and wanted to buy them all!

I researched the brand (as I always do when discovering a new product) and read some not so fantastic things about the company. This did put me off a wee bit but I decided to give them a go anyway. My first purchase was the Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick in Glamour 101. It is absolutely amazing! It's creamy without being slippery, it applies beautifully and the colour lasts a decent amount of time before fading or needing to reapply.

The second shade I tried was for a photoshoot for a spray tanning company - Countessa Fluorescent. I would never have purchased this shade myself as it's just not my thing but the girls I was on the shoot with said it looked lovely on me. I remain unconvinced! Again it applied beautifully and smelt divine.

The third shade I tried was Babette. I really really disliked this one. It applied patchy and uneven and the shade made me look sickly. It was really unflattering and I sold it straight away.

The fourth shade I tried was Poisonberry. This is a beautiful deep purple metallic sort of shade that looks so divine and the name suits it perfectly. It applied evenly and again lasted for a decent amount of time.

The fifth shade that I tried was Centrifuchsia - this is my FAVOURITE of all the shades. It applied so perfectly, it's creamy, it's just absolutely divine. I can't recommend this one highly enough!

The sixth shade that I tried was Coquette. I was a bit apprehensive about this shade as I didn't have much luck with Babette and they look quite similar online. Turns out I love this shade! It's really flattering on my pale skin and is the perfect "pale nude" for me without washing me out. My only complaint with this one is the formula. From what I understand Lime Crime changed the formula on this lipstick a while ago & I have no idea why because it's ruined it! It dries up fast on the lips and flakes and becomes clumpy. I was so disappointed because I had finally found an amazing nude that actually suited me! Oh well, back to the nude drawing board!

Tips: The darker shades are creamier and more flattering on a variety of skin types. The pale shades are hit and miss so if you can get your hands on a tester then I'd definitely try before you buy!

Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick

I recently purchased two Lime Crime lipsticks. I am so in love with them. The colours are so opaque, you only need one swipe, and you have a beautiful, rich, and vibrant colour. I find them a little harder to apply, compared to the NYX round lipsticks, but this means you get a perfect line, without the need for lip liner, and no bleeding. The wear is amazing, I apply in the morning and I have no need to touch up, it's not as creamy looking as when I first put it on, but I find it dries to an almost matte look after about half a day, this could also be because I need to take better care of my lips and keep them moisturised. I highly recommend you add these lipsticks to your collection.

What shades do you have? I am really keen to invest in Airborne Unicorn but haven't taken the plunge just yet. I haven't got a huge amount of disposable income, but do you think Lime Crime lippies are worth the investment? Love xx

Addicted!

I have recently bought My Beautiful Rocket - pretty colour but is a little too opaque for my liking. Retrofuturist is my current fav, really bold and has great staying power.

Tips: Buy direct from the Limecrime website, when I originally found the brand I found that some NZ websites were charging quite a bit more than in the US. I purchased 4 shades at once + extras and so it made sense to swallow shipping for a bulk order. It arrived in less than a week and came in the most amazing wrapping I have ever received.

Best lipstick EVER!

Wow. These lipsticks are AMAZING. I never was really into lipstick until I was introduced to these. I have Babette, Glamour 101 and Centrifuchsia. I personally have been able to wear these all day and night with one touch up, but it really didn't move at all. A lil on the pricey side, but worth every cent.

Tips: These are SUPER pigmented, so maybe if your a lipstick newbie start with another brand as you may get a fright. However they are AMAZING!!
