Pleasantly surprised

I received this product from BR to trial, Rimmel isn't a brand that I'd usually think of and go for..

I was doubtful when I opened up this mascara to find a huge bushy brush and the formula looked a bit gluggy on first impression. However both the brush and formula are great and apply beautifully.

The formula is on the thinner side and builds really well and evenly, no clumps at all.

The brush does a good job of flaring out and separating lashes. I would usually curl my lashes prior to mascara application which isn't necessary with this product.

I would definitely purchase this mascara in future, great product great price.

Great mascara, awesome brush!

I was lucky enough to be selected by BR to trial this mascara. I usually struggle with new mascaras since they have heaps of product in them and I end up getting it everywhere. This mascara did not do that to me!! I was able to apply it, get great results and not end up with big black rings around my eyes. The application brush for this mascara is a great shape. It also absolutely lives up to it's promise and makes your lashes look juicy and fat. If you want a mascara that's going to add volume to your lashes I can't recommend this enough. This mascara lasts well all day and doesn't rub off of drop little bits. It's also easy to get off with my usual removal method (makeup wipes). All in all I'm super impressed with this mascara. Easy to apply and get a great look, wears well and it's easy to get off at the end of the day. I might have found my new fave and I'll be purchasing a second one for my gym bag.

Rimmel ScandalEyes Volume on Demand Mascara

This mascara made my eyelashes look fabulous!

This mascara wand was lovely and big, which I personally love so it did not disappoint! It was also able to separate and coat all of the lashes easily. I think it actually did more to the length of my lashes as opposed to volume, which is fine for me as I personally am always trying to get lengthier lashes! Don’t get me wrong though, the volume of this mascara is also awesome, it did give me the look effect that I had falsies on.

The mascara is great in that it not flake, doesn’t feel heavy on the lashes and also it was relatively easy to take off with my makeup remover wipes.

The mascara claims to be buildable which it is, I managed to apply 2 coats of mascara with no issue of clumping. Formula is good in that it wasn’t so wet that if I sneezed (I seem to need to do this every time I put mascara on!) it did not end up transferring onto my skin, and it wasn’t too dry either.

My lashes stayed relatively soft also, didn’t feel hard and brittle like some mascara’s do, particularly after a couple of coats.

I guess one downside for me is the packaging, I just find it bulky and also boring….I do like products that sit pretty in my bathroom! But again, for the cost factor of this mascara and the results, I would definitely be willing to repurchase, and also recommend to my friends who are after reasonable priced mascara that delivers the goods!

Tips: Dont be afraid to apply 2-3 coats!

I found this mascara not great but not bad.

I definitely wouldn’t call it a volumising mascara as it says it is - you would need a LOT of layers to get dramatic volume. It does however layer really well like it says without clumping at all. However I really don’t like the feeling of anything more than two coats (but if you love to layer then you’d probably love this).

The wand is bigger than the typical mascara wand and has a thicker base end. It does make it quite easy to apply, especially using the thinner end on the lower lashes.

It didn’t smudge onto my lower lash line either which is always a bonus.

I dunno, I found it a bit ho hum. Probably a good mascara for someone looking for nothing to drastic with just one layer or as I said, if you’re happy to do several coats to get the volume.

Volume on demand? More like, LENGTH on DEMAND!

From the get-go, the tube itself is eye-catching and bold with its sleek, curved lid and firetruck-red look. The smell is your typical, run-of-the-mill, slightly chlorine-y scent and the formula itself isn't super thick nor runny. I'm a sucker for big wands, and I really liked the chunky, hourglass-shaped head on this mascara.

As background information, I was blessed with relatively long lashes, but unfortunately they're pretty straight and usually fan downwards, so I always like to use a lash curler beforehand.

As soon as I applied the mascara I saw that it evenly separated my lashes (huge win!) and gave me instant length (double win!!), however I am slightly disappointed with the claim about "volume on demand" as I didn't see much difference between my second and third layer application.

What I really love about the mascara is its remaining power. Some mascaras sadly can't hold your lashes up and need extra help from a lash curler, but I tested one eye using my curler and the other without, and my lashes both stayed lifted! Of course, the side I used my curler with had a teensy bit more lift, but to the naked eye there really wasn't much of a difference, which I'm extremely happy about - one less thing to bring on the go!

In terms of cleaning it off, cleansing wipes, micellar water and/or a good oil cleanse can get rid of it easy. It didn't survive a smudge or crying test (found out I can actually cry on command! Who knew?!), but I don't think it claimed to be smudgeproof or waterproof anyway. Nevertheless I personally think the ease of removal is a blessing rather than a curse because you know it won't leave you with panda eyes in the morning.

In conclusion, does it give you volume on demand? Well... if you're thinking of in-your-face, full-glam, poppin' lashes, then sadly no. But for a little extra "oomph", it's a solid mascara that gives you volume suitable enough for every day wear. Would I repurchase? Actually, yes! It really boils down to its lifting and staying power, clump-freeness, and lengthening properties. Though I think I might get the waterproof version. Also, Rimmel should definitely rename it to "Length on demand" instead (but I guess that's not as catchy).

Tips: Use a curler beforehand for an extra lift!

Lovely Length, Lacks volume

I was sent this mascara to review, I often buy sample sized mascaras so I did find the packaging to be very big, I like that when it the lid seals there is a click and it feels very secure and less risk of drying out

I like the size of the brush and wand and found it very easy to use and get in the corners.

I trialled the non waterproof black mascara. now as far as the claim that can layer at anytime- you certainly can pack it on without too much issue.

I tried it out a few different ways, I put 5 yes 5 layers on one after the other while the mascara was still wet and I have to say that every layer did add another level Length- and Somewhat volume.

If you put some on and then let it dry and come back and add more, it wasn't as easy to apply and went a little clumpier- Which I don't necessarily dislike as I like a volume effect,

I found this masacara was really good at lengthening and seperating but not quite as good at providing the volume I like.

Also I would not recommend wearing this anywhere if there is a chance of you crying, I know it is not waterproof but a couple of tears will send this running!! The positive to this is that it is really easy to remove at the end of the day.

All in all this is not the best mascara I have ever used, but also not the worst, I really liked the lengthening effect but would have wished for a little more volume. I am not sure If I would repurchase but its certainly a nice, cheaper option for an everyday mascara

Tips: Do not wear to any emotional situation as it does run when comes into contact with tears

Rimmel ScandalEyes Volume on Demand

Rimmel ScandalEyes Volume on Demand came as a welcome treat to cheer me up during this current lock down. And it definitely lived up to it's expectations for me. The brush provided easy application. One layer was good enough for a day look and a couple more in the evening worked wonders at adding volume to my lashes without clumping or making my lashes stiff. And the best part was even with wearing it all day it didn't smudge or irritate my eyes. I'd definitely recommend this and consider buying it again.

Rimmel ScandalEyes Volume on Demand

I was lucky enough to receive this for trial. I was so excited as Rimmell make my faverite masacaras. It was even better that I received this at the start of the Covid 19 lockdown so had something new to play with (and an excuse to still wear makeup) The consistency is creamy and opaque but the applicator wasnt anything special. It has a tapered end but rather large base.I ususally choose mascaras based on the applicator as I have very small eyes so a large wand ends up painting my eyelids. The first coat does an amazing job at seperating the lashes, and applying more layers to build the volume still has them seperated and non clumpy which i loved. I have hooded eyes and some mascara does transfer onto my eyelids during the day. This only happened once and that was a day I wore tinted moisturizer instaead of my usual matte foundation with powder eyeshadow, so that wold of been the reason. Overall I found this a very nice mascara to use as I could have subtle results for a day look or a more stronger look by building the layers. The eyelash seperation was the biggest win for me.

Tips: If you apply layers while still wet, the lases remain seperated and can take multiple coats to get the desired effect. I found if I let the masacara nearly dry between coats I recieved the most dramatic look.

ScandalEyes Volume on Demand

i got picked to trial this product, so thanks so much for that. it unfortunately came right as our lock down started so didn't get to test this out and about, but i gave it a good go around the house. In the past I've had great difficulty with mascara, its usually to do with the shape of the wands and the mascara being to clumpy for me to bother with (who has time for that.. right?!) I was actually pleasantly surprised testing this out, the container itself is fine, just like most, easy to hold, and open. the wand end is shaped slightly different to previous ones I've used, with a tapered end to get better into the corners/ends. It was really easy to apply, and i was very happy with the fact it the mascara didn't seem to clump, or have my lashes stick together. making it so comfortable to wear. i honestly didn't even feel like i had any on. With one layer it didn't look overly done, so for me that was perfect, but you could easily add extra layers for a more fuller look. Although i wouldn't wait to longer for extra layers, it was a little hard to do once it was fully dry. it lasted most of the day, and was easily removed (i used micellar water) I will be using this again!

Eye Opening!

I'm a bit of a floozy when it comes to mascaras - I mean there's so much choice, and I go through them so quickly, that I tend to pick the one that catches my eye or the one that's reviewed well, or the one that's on special. I haven't really got a 'brand' preference - until now.

The Rimmel ScandalEyes Volume on Demand is, for me, the perfect mascara. It ticks all of the boxes. Affordable. Great sturdy wand. Builable formula. Easy to find in the supermarket.

The formula isn't too wet, nor too tacky - it goes on smoothly and evenly, and dries pretty quickly. I mean don't blink while applying it, or it's going to go on your lid, but you don't have to stand there with 'mascara face' between each layer.

When building the layers it never goes bitty or clumpy. It maintains a smooth layer on the shaft of each lash. 2 was my perfect day number. If I ever go out again at night, (seriously, lockdown is dragggggging) I'll use 3 layers.

If you love PHAT lashes, that look amazing, feel amazing and ooze volume - give this a try. I'm looking at settling down with this baby for a while to come, it is love.
