L'Oreal Colour Riche Le Crayon de Couleur in Lovely Lilas Review

I purchased this product after the big eye crayon hype started and I just needed to try one. I found this L'oreal crayon really attractive as such. The pen looks very luxurious with its black outside colour.

I really like this nice purple colour, which is almost a little bit metallic depending on the lighting. I bought it for $19.99 at a local pharmacy. Even though I tried it at the pharmacy I wanted to give this crayon a better test before I write a review. I was especially curious how well it will hold with this humid weather. The crayon is very easy to apply as you just use it as a pen. I applied it all over my lid and it glides on very easy. I was impressed by the richness of the colour and its coverage. I didnt need to apply lots of layers to get a good amount of colour on my lids. Off I went to work and I kept checking my eyes to see if it melts away or goes into my creases. It did not! I got a lot of compliments for the nice purple colour and after a long day at work the colour looked exactly the same as in the morning when I applied it. Nothing melted away and the colour didnt fade. I'm absolutely convinced with this product and will be buying some other colours. The purple colour would suit a lot of skin types. I have already recommended this product to many of my friends. I believe the price of $20 is reasonable as you get a lot out of it. Go buy it and try it yourself!

I loved this product. The colour was gorgeous, the texture was amazing and so delicate on your eyes. I will definitely be having a nosy at purchasing more colours of this product.

This colour is sharp yet subtle. Pigmented and not Shiney. If using as liner it would be best as just above the lash line with a simple line or winged. The crayon is thick which I find difficult to apply as eyeliner,but easy to hold during lid application. Using it on it's own is nice or you can create a smokey eye with this crayon using a blending brush. This is creamy which I find it easy to work with. The colour is a pastel purple Lilac, I like .This crayon will last me a while. Long lasting on the lid.Removal is also a breeze with just a makeup wipe,which is surprising given it's lasting, didn't use it with a primer and got the desired effect. I'm really getting into the crayons. They're no fuss easy to use and also travel friendly. No fall out and no mess. This is the reason for a happy review. I will continue on from here and purchase crayons for this very reason.

I was sent this as a trial. It is very pigmented and vibrant. It was easy build up the colour and blend. Also it was very easy to remove. The only downside I found was when applying it was quite hard and had to use a bit a pressure which hurt my eyes a little bit.

I have to say, I was weary of using purple eye shadow (flashbacks to high school), but keen to give it a go. The crayon makes it super easy to apply, and the colour easy goes on - you don't have to press hard, which I have found with cheaper versions. The colour is lovely - for work I blended it with a brown shadow, and also used the pencil as eyeliner for a lighter look than my normal black. Will definitely use it when I feel like a bit of colour!

When swatched on the hand, the pigmentation of this is beautiful. It has a creamy texture as promised.

However, when applied on my eyelids, I found it extremely hard to apply and even dragged my skin!

On my eyelids (no primer, no shadow under or on top), I found that the colour payoff was not as pigmented as when swatched on my hand. Maybe it due to the fact that I applied more pressure on my hand? Because it did drag o my eyelid space, I did not apply as much pressure.

The next day I primed my lids and found that the colour payoff was the same. Same thing happened when applied on top of shadows.

On the 4th day, I tried it again by warming it up sightly between my hands. Sure enough the pigmentation was amazing!

As an eyeliner, I found that since it is quite chubby, it did not apply easily when I want the line to be lose to the lashes.

When used alone on the first day, I did no experience any creasing. Same goes for all the other days I had used this. But people with oily lids may have problems.

Although this product worked best and provided maximum pigmentation for me when warmed up, it does not mean that the colour payoff was horrible. Prior to it being used warmed up, the colour was a lovely light lavender which would be great for days when I want a light look!

Overall, I would love to use this product again in other colours!

I was excited to try this product, I've wanted to find some ways to bring brighter colours into my eye make up for a while, so I was keen to try this. straight off i loved the vibrant colour, the pigment impressed me. I've used traditional eye shadow for a long time now, and was keen to see how a crayon would work within my makeup routine. I was disappointed that getting it to blend was quite hard, because of the texture of the crayon, however after a bit of effort I got it to look good/I was happy with it. the crayon made it really easy to use on my lower lids and it would be a fantastic liner. I'll use this product again, but I don't think I would re-buy it, simply because of the way I like to wear my eye make up, means traditional eyeshadows more favourable.

I was excited to try this product out as I don't normally incorporate lighter colours in my eye looks. When I swatched the colour on my hand it showed a beautiful, slightly metallic lilac purple. The swatch came out very pigmented with opaque coverage. When i applied to my lids, I found it slightly harder to get that same opacity, but gradually built it up in layers. As it is more of a creme consistency, it's a bit difficult to blend out, but nothing a bit of perseverance can't work out. As it is quite a chubby pencil, I didn't opt to use it as an upper lash liner as i couldn't get my line thin/crisp enough - but this could perhaps be remedied by applying the product to a brush and applying that way.

I ended up liking this product the best when used as a base for purple shadows. It has great staying power, when used with or without a primer, and allows the shadows to adhere quite well. The product also makes a great inner corner highlight for a bright, colourful eye makeup look.

I found that the product was very creamy upon swatching it on the back of my hand and it had good pigmentation. I was a little weary of wearing purple on my eyes so I started by using it to add a pop of colour on my lower lash line. The colour was gorgeous and it lasted a good 6 hours before the colour started to wear off. It was easy to apply in the form of a crayon, because the tip was a little thick however it was very easy to hold.

When I used it on my eyelids to create a smokey eye, I found it was hard to apply at first but the application and blending became easier after warming the tip on the back of my hand. When used with primer, the colour really stands out. Removal is also very easy - I used Bioderma micellular water and it came right off.

All in all, application of the product is very easy. It is also very versatile and travel friendly. The packaging is also very sleek. I would definitely recommend this.

I had a positive first impression of this product, it brought back a bit of nostalgia of drawing with crayons as a child. Fortunately it appears my skills with crayons have improved in the last 25 years or so, the colour was easy to apply and the format of the crayon meant I could apply it directly where I wanted it. I also liked how it was easy to gradually build up colour to the intensity I wanted. I liked the result of teaming this lilac with a grey hue base.

The creamy texture applied easily and I found the colour wore well and did not smudge. I also liked that the crayon cap fit on the other end of the pencil, meaning I am unlikely to loose it.
