Lots of drama putting it on

When BR posted the articles recently about brows and brow game I thought I needed to up my brow game, my brows aren't exactly anything to write home about, but they aren't too bad either. So after reading the article I thought this brow product would be the best suited to me.

I ordered this from farmers online when they were having a 30% off deal running. I brought the colour medium, Packaging wise it's pretty basic in black plastic and looks like a mascara, it's nothing fancy or really eye catching.

I pulled the wand out and was met with a big bauble of a brush, I knew it was going to be a big sphere shaped brush but I didn't think it would be so big. The bristles are quite sparse too, it's not like it is packed full of bristles like a mascara brush. I had an inspection of the brush and couldn't see much product so I dipped the brush back in, swirled it around a bit and still not much but I proceeded anyway.

I swiped this over and over and over and...... You get the point so many times and it just didn't make much difference, put a few strays back into place and that was about it. The formula is quite runny and thin and hard to get the product onto my brows. And that brush, it's quite scratchy on the skin it's not very gentle.

It's definitely not something I would buy again as I still love the BDB pencil more. I might try the trick of trimming the bristles back as a lot of the product could be getting wiped off when you pull the wand out. Fingers crossed.

Exactly the same experience I have when I use this, I've cut mine now and it works a bit better but still!

Maybelline Brow Drama

I only started filling in my brows recently and I have to say the applicator to apply this product to the brows makes it so easy to apply especially for beginners. I found it quite hard to get alo of product on the applicator which is prob a good thing so it goes on sparingly and can be built up. I do question how much formula is in the product tho, and the product does feel quite dry. I did however find the finished appearance quite natural and provides the brows with a fuller look, and looked great in the areas where my brows are starting to thin or are patchy :) I found it also stayed put for the majority of the day also until i wiped it off before bed.

Tips: I think this works great for me because i have quite thick brows, i think those who have quite thing brows might struggle with the applicator :(

Dissapointed.

If there is one thing that seems to be the focus of the year, its perfect brows, and I admit I am on the hunt for products to help me achieve that perfect brow.. but unfortunately, this product was not it.

I had seen this product around, and had been tempted to pick it up, so when I finally got the chance to try it I was pretty excited.

It comes in a cylinder tube, similar to what you would expect from mascara. Its plastic and the lid twists off to reveal the wand and brush. The brush is not the average brow brush, but is a sphere which is quite big, and pointy. Personally, I hate the brush. I know hate is a strong word but I do hate it. I find it so gimmicky. It’s way too big for its purpose, and I feel like it is designed so wrong for this product, and its purpose because the neck of the brow product is quite small, I find all the product accumulates above the brush, and gets wiped off the brush when it gets pulled out of the tube (If that makes sense).

The formula of this product feels quite wet and watery, but it does have dark pigmentation which is what I need for my brows so that's good.

I find when I run this over my brows six or so times, they do look a bit neater, slightly darker and groomed. But this product fails to fill in my brows, and there is no drama and the results definitely aren't instant.

I wouldn't repurchase this again, and I strongly suggest you see a tester and just swipe it on the back of your hand to see the lack of product that is on there.

Good Idea on cutting the spoolie

I rub this all over my hand and literally nothing comes off! If i rub it really hard, then a streak might come off but not much :(

I like that it doesn't have too much product! Funny. BUT I have seen videos online where they cut off the ball part at the end so it is just a normal short spoolie, you might like it like that.

Medieval device friendly

I picked this up unsure about it thinking I had to try the brush, it looks like a medieval weapon. I decided to get this in transparent for some reason that fails me now.

The gel holds my brows in place nicely. I can use my Chi Chi brow pencil underneath it no problems. The gel feels natural and non sticky. This doesn't have any fibres in it so if you are looking at that in a brow product step away, you will not get it from here. I have been known to use this with no other makeup when home alone so my brows look pretty even if the rest of me is not done up.

I will be looking at a rebuy on this once finished

Maybelline Brow Drama

I absolutely love this brow gel. I remember when i first opened the lid, i was very surprised by the brush as it has a very strange looking ball type design at the end and looked very hard to use. I got used to using it and find it super easy to use now. Im not that huge into drawing/filling in my brows everyday as i have quite full dark eyebrows naturally so this product is perfect for me. I just brush through the product and it keeps all my brow hairs in place as well as giving it a tiny bit of colour. I use the darkest shade and find it works well. The gel stays in place all day so my crazy long brow hairs look some what decent! i have used this product pretty much every day for 2-3 months and it doesn't look like its going to run out any time soon. Overall i find it works great , would happily buy it again and recommend to friends.

Transparent

First off let's talk about the application wand/brush. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it and I had absolutely no idea how this ball shaped tip was going to apply the gel without getting it everywhere so I thought I'd end up cutting that part off... after trying it though I've fallen in love! it may not look like the best tool for application but I found it was actually really precise and allowed me to gently smooth hairs into place while getting good coverage. I appreciate the opaque black tube, I've used transparent brow gels before that have come in a clear wand that ends up looking horrible as other brow products mix into it. The gel has a slight white opacity to it but that doesn't translate on the brows at all and the shaping power/hold it provides is pretty fantastic. I can't say it makes my brows appear any fuller or thicker but my guess is the coloured products do that more where the transparent is more for shaping & hold.

Most of the drama is in the brush

I'm really into brows. I love trying out new pencils and gels and this particular gel was quite intriguing to me. The coloured gel isn't anything different but the brush on this sure is. I don't think I've seen anything like it before. It is about 2cms long and starts off as a thin mascara-type wand but then it balloons out into a big ball. I'm really not sure that this was the best design. Generally, the smaller the brush the better so you can be more precise.

I have the dark brown version of this and I really like the colour shade. It's quite dark but not black dark and it's not warm at all. Even though I have naturally warm hair, my eyebrows are cool toned and I hate when brown eyebrow products are too warm toned. This sets my brows in place but it doesn't leave them feeling like there is hair gel in them.

I have quite sparse brow hairs so I always fill in with a pencil first. If you have good brows already, you could get away with only using this but I've tried with other gels before and it takes me about 3 times as long and never looks as good as when I pencil first. My brows are also a medium thin shape. So this brush for me is a bit too big. I imagine for most brow shapes it would be too big though. I'd imagine only brows that are 1cm thick or thicker would find it easy to use. I just use the very end which works out ok though. I don't usually get it everywhere but I do wipe a lot of excess product off first.

I will use the rest of this up but I couldn't see myself buying this again. I much preferred the loreal version, so I'd recommend that one over this.

LOVE!

I used the dark brown Maybelline Brow Drama. It is just dark enough to look natural, paired with my dark hair - which I'm all for. Another plus with the colour is that it is better than any clear brow mascara that I own. I've discovered that all I have to do is stroke through my brows with the Brow Drama and the added colour allows my brows to be filled in and easily shaped without the need of any brow powder or pencil. The fluid is not gloopy but smooth and the spooley is rounded and pointed which allows for depth in the thickest part of my brow and precision at the ends. The product sets on the brows reasonably quick and when it does my brows successfully stay in place throughout the day. The best think about Brow Drama is the coverage/colour is buildable so if I wish to have my brows darker and more aligned to the colour of my hair, it can be easily done. Overall, a super easy to use product that is perfect for beginners and beyond.

Tips: The product tends to gather at the tip of the spooley. Putting the whole glob of product on your eyebrow isn't going to work! Don't underestimate the coverage of the product as the little product on the majority of the spooley will be just enough for your brows. If you want to get the glob of product at the tip of the spooley further up the spooley brush for application, what I tend to do is just try to distribute the product along and up the spooley brush by dipping it in the bottle and grazing it on the lip of the bottle. Sounds confusing but it's all about trial and error haha

Amazing

I have very unruly brows and haven't yet found a product which will tame them yet not make them feel like I've put hairspray through them. I used the transparent version and applied 2-3 coats and it never felt like I has product on as my brows always felt soft and normal. You do need to apply more than 1 coat for it to work but it does dry fast so I don't see this as a problem. It kept my brows tamed for the whole day.

Tips: Use more than 1 coat. I have heard some people say they don't like the shape of the brush and have cut it to be the same aa a mascara wand - this works for some people but I did not find it necessary and was happy with the brush

Not overly fussed on this

This is a mascara like product, but for the brows. It made me take a sideways glance at it because I had never heard of mascara for brows before now. I love trying new brow products so didn't hesitate to give this one a go to see what the big fuss was about.

I chose the colour dark brown because I like my brows to be bold and match my hair. The spoolie was odd to me. It is quite bulbous at the tip and had me thinking ‘oh I know this will be messy’. My apprehension was blown wide apart.

The spoolie collects the perfect amount of product every time I redip the wand! I read on the Maybelline website that to get the best results brush your eyebrows forward, against the growth and then brush it back through. It made such a difference to the finish of the product. The product clings to even the finest of hairs and makes it stand up and take notice. I would liken the formula to thinned down mascara for eyelashes. It sticks to the spoolie without being messy.

I was nervous about the appearance of it on my brows looking too much like gel’d down brows. To be honest they look very natural and well filled in. It was almost impossible to mess them up seeing they only cling to the brow hairs. It didn’t venture anywhere else on my forehead which is what made me nervous more than anything. Verdict: I like how easy it is to use but I prefer a defined brow with deliberate lines. This makes them appear too bushy and too natural for me.

Tips: Use this as a fill in only or to give your brows a bit of oomph
