Lots of drama putting it on

When BR posted the articles recently about brows and brow game I thought I needed to up my brow game, my brows aren't exactly anything to write home about, but they aren't too bad either. So after reading the article I thought this brow product would be the best suited to me.

I ordered this from farmers online when they were having a 30% off deal running. I brought the colour medium, Packaging wise it's pretty basic in black plastic and looks like a mascara, it's nothing fancy or really eye catching.

I pulled the wand out and was met with a big bauble of a brush, I knew it was going to be a big sphere shaped brush but I didn't think it would be so big. The bristles are quite sparse too, it's not like it is packed full of bristles like a mascara brush. I had an inspection of the brush and couldn't see much product so I dipped the brush back in, swirled it around a bit and still not much but I proceeded anyway.

I swiped this over and over and over and...... You get the point so many times and it just didn't make much difference, put a few strays back into place and that was about it. The formula is quite runny and thin and hard to get the product onto my brows. And that brush, it's quite scratchy on the skin it's not very gentle.

It's definitely not something I would buy again as I still love the BDB pencil more. I might try the trick of trimming the bristles back as a lot of the product could be getting wiped off when you pull the wand out. Fingers crossed.

Brow Drama

I do really like this product especially the medium brown, gives the sparse hairs at the front of my brow a nice dark tint, but i find you dont really get to coat the brows with enough product because of the round shaped wand. when your brows are set they feel nice and velvety not crusty.

Some pros and cons..

I'm always on the lookout for good brow products because I have a small scar that vertically goes down a part of my eyebrow, making it look a bit lacking in terms of hair. The Brow Drama is like a mascara for your eyebrows, but I found that the dark brown one didn't really help fill them in at all unless i was more forceful, although the product did shape my eyebrows. However, the Brow Drama often tended to give my eyebrows the opposite effect from what I wanted; the brush applicator combed through by eyebrow, separating the hairs out quite finely and making the brow less distinct. Also, since the Brow Drama gels your eyebrow hairs somewhat, after applied it was very difficult to mould your eyebrows to a certain shape, meaning I had to force my eyebrow hairs back to being less separated. Although this gel-like behaviour means the product lasts a long time, it unfortunately was difficult for me to remove, leaving me scrubbing at my eyebrows afterwards. Also, I found overall that the Brow Drama held down my eyebrows too much, making them look drawn on or two-dimensional.

Tips: Be very careful with the brush if your eyebrow hairs are thin, as it can tend to spread them apart and flatten them, making your eyebrows look a bit lacking. I suggest filling in your eyebrows a bit first if necessary, then only using a light amount of Brow Drama to deal with all the 'loose ends' or straggly bits.

Not overly fussed on this

This is a mascara like product, but for the brows. It made me take a sideways glance at it because I had never heard of mascara for brows before now. I love trying new brow products so didn't hesitate to give this one a go to see what the big fuss was about.

I chose the colour dark brown because I like my brows to be bold and match my hair. The spoolie was odd to me. It is quite bulbous at the tip and had me thinking ā€˜oh I know this will be messyā€™. My apprehension was blown wide apart.

The spoolie collects the perfect amount of product every time I redip the wand! I read on the Maybelline website that to get the best results brush your eyebrows forward, against the growth and then brush it back through. It made such a difference to the finish of the product. The product clings to even the finest of hairs and makes it stand up and take notice. I would liken the formula to thinned down mascara for eyelashes. It sticks to the spoolie without being messy.

I was nervous about the appearance of it on my brows looking too much like gelā€™d down brows. To be honest they look very natural and well filled in. It was almost impossible to mess them up seeing they only cling to the brow hairs. It didnā€™t venture anywhere else on my forehead which is what made me nervous more than anything. Verdict: I like how easy it is to use but I prefer a defined brow with deliberate lines. This makes them appear too bushy and too natural for me.

Tips: Use this as a fill in only or to give your brows a bit of oomph

Yet Another Maybelline Product

At the moment on BR, the products for the perfect brows seem to be a big discussion. So inspired by all these products I picked the maybelline brow drama. I chose transparent because for everyday I don't need more colour just a bit of shape.

The product is packaged just like a mascara, but with a bristle ball on the end of the brush. I really liked this as I felt it moved a lot more naturally and easily along my eyebrows than a straight brush. The case for the product was a sleek black mascara looking tube with the typical drama font. I didn't like this so much because I think it is too similar to mascara packaging. I personally think they need to be different so someone doesn't accidentally pick up the wrong thing.

In terms of how the product worked. A think layer of the gel like substance came out on the brush which spread easy and evenly across the eyebrows. The gel then held that shape for the rest of the day.

Transparent - Clear hold but no drama

I love brows! Although I don't have the best brows myself I still love trying new products. So when BR offered to send this I got in quick smart and chose the shade transparent as they don't have a blonde shade for this product. I find it disappointing that they don't have a blonde shade as really my dream brow product is something that adds colour and hold in one stroke. My brows are reasonably shaped but very pale blonde so can easily look overdone if I add too much colour.

I love the packaging of this product as well. In other brow gels I have used they have a clear packaging so when they get a wee bit of brow product in them they start to look murky and gross. At least with this black plastic packaging you won't notice. Now this is where the product started to scare me about it... the spoolie looks like a torture device! I have seen a few reviews of this online where they have cut off the round end and just left the normal spoolie looking bit. But I really like the round part though as it manages to pick up just the right amount of product without overloading your brows with product. This is great as the gel is quite wet.

I found this really nice on my brows. It made them stay in place well but not in a shiny way. It also wasn't very crunchy which I like. The gel also didn't move the coloured powder underneath so it really created a nice brow look.

This product isn't everything in one for me, but it is a really nice product that I will be adding to my brow routine. But it isn't an everyday product for me.

Dissapointed.

If there is one thing that seems to be the focus of the year, its perfect brows, and I admit I am on the hunt for products to help me achieve that perfect brow.. but unfortunately, this product was not it.

I had seen this product around, and had been tempted to pick it up, so when I finally got the chance to try it I was pretty excited.

It comes in a cylinder tube, similar to what you would expect from mascara. Its plastic and the lid twists off to reveal the wand and brush. The brush is not the average brow brush, but is a sphere which is quite big, and pointy. Personally, I hate the brush. I know hate is a strong word but I do hate it. I find it so gimmicky. Itā€™s way too big for its purpose, and I feel like it is designed so wrong for this product, and its purpose because the neck of the brow product is quite small, I find all the product accumulates above the brush, and gets wiped off the brush when it gets pulled out of the tube (If that makes sense).

The formula of this product feels quite wet and watery, but it does have dark pigmentation which is what I need for my brows so that's good.

I find when I run this over my brows six or so times, they do look a bit neater, slightly darker and groomed. But this product fails to fill in my brows, and there is no drama and the results definitely aren't instant.

I wouldn't repurchase this again, and I strongly suggest you see a tester and just swipe it on the back of your hand to see the lack of product that is on there.

Good Idea on cutting the spoolie

I rub this all over my hand and literally nothing comes off! If i rub it really hard, then a streak might come off but not much :(

I like that it doesn't have too much product! Funny. BUT I have seen videos online where they cut off the ball part at the end so it is just a normal short spoolie, you might like it like that.

Brow Drama

I have this in dark brown and I got it from a makeup sale. I've heard a few things about this prior to purchasing so I was excited to try it. I did but it at the same time as the Loreal Brow Stylist Plumper too.

I find the brush with the round tip quite weird and too wide for my eyebrows. The formula is also wet so if I don't brush off the excess, I get too much on and it applies unevenly. I've seen a beauty vlogger on YT recommend cutting the tip but I find that too much work.

Overall, this is an ok product. I prefer the loreal brow stylist plumper due to the size of the brush but it does hold my brows in place.

Holds them in place

Have this in dark brown which is surprisingly close to the color of my eyebrows. When I'm wearing this you can't even tell that I've any product on my brows at all. This helps keep the hairs in place for a neatly brushed look. I don't like to fill in my brows too much so for natural day to day looks I give this a swipe and that's it. It's easy to apply with the little ball shaped brush and it doesn't clump or anything. It does make my brows look ever so slightly darker. Removing is effortless as well with a makeup remover wipe. This does its job nicely but probably wouldn't buy it again as my eyebrows usually behave on their own without any brow gel.

Brow Drama

I never realised until now how many of my cosmetics are Maybelline. They really seem to be a big brand in my make up bag! I bought this because i'm really trying to get into the brows. I have very faint and thin brows with not a lot of shape to them, so this seemed like a easy and quick way to 'dramatise' them a little! I actually like it, its nothing too bold and doesn't look out of place on my face. But sometimes you just need a little bit more filling. Definitely just a day product for me and ill add a bit extra for evening make up. Overall, it'll be kept in my make up bag and I will still use it for day to day :)

Tips: Good for the natural look.
