L'Oreal PRO XXL EXTENSION MASCARA

I was fortunate enough to have been given this mascara to trial. I was initially surprised to find that the 1 half of it was black, rather than the white serum that most split mascaras come with. The 1 section appeared to work as volumizing for your lashes, as the 2 part had small particles in it to lengthen them. The end results was great! It really made my eyes pop and gave a nice even coat.

At some point during the day I forgot I was wearing mascara and rubbed my eye, I quickly checked in the mirror and there was a single black flake, which is less that most mascaras. I never noticed any flaking other than this time that I rubbed my eye.

I tested how waterproof it was at the end of the day and it stood-up to the challenge, this was after surviving a 4km hike as well, without any smudging. It was easy to remove with my make-up remover. One of the big things for me, is that it didn't make my eyes flare up. I suffer from blepharitis, which is inflammation of oil producing glands on the eyelids - these are often where the lashes meet the eyelids. As I result I usually try not to wear mascara except for special occasions, however I suffered no issues at all with wearing this multiple times in a week, which really impressed me.

Overall, I was really happy with the product, it was easy to apply, looked amazing, but almost felt light enough for me to forget I was wearing it. I feel I really put it to the test and it passed with flying colours.

Great mascara for length and volume, it works as it says, is also non-clumpy, and brushes are nice to use. For me the downside is having 2 different products I would prefer 2 in 1 as I tend to just use one end in the haste to get ready. However this is a small downside. It comes off reasonably easily with oil cleanser and only had one instance of it smudging. Overall I liked it.

This mascara certainly adds volume, I can't say I really noticed much of a difference in the length. I'm nearly sold on it, but I still find it clumps quite a bit, which isn't a look I'm particularly fond of. I was surprised it didn't come in a sealed tube - I'm not keen on buying a product that might have already been opened in a store - even a security sticker to stop it being opened would be nice The tube is dual ended, the first end being a primer which adds volume (worked really well) the second being the lengthening which contains lots of little fibres. I wasn't so keen on that bit - maybe with some practice it might be better?

I have been using the L’Oreal PRO XXL Extension mascara, this mascara involves two steps via two different wands.

Step one is the volume primer - this layer applies easily and looks great. Step two adds the fibres for lengthening (the wand is curved) - this layer also applies nicely. I found it better to add the second layer straightaway (before layer one dries).

I found the mascara sat neatly on my lashes and lasted well all day. The mascara made my lashes nice and fine/wispy without clumps or flakey (bonus!)

I did struggle to remove the mascara completely at the end of day, as I had black eyes in morning!

Overall, I found this mascara left my lashes looking great!

The only downside is whether I could be bothered with two steps every morning

I love this mascara! It gives me great length and volume as it says it would. Both the wands have this almost grip like design so it really seems to grab each eyelash and coat it with mascara. The second wand has a nice curve to it to help curl your eyelashes but I would still curl my eyelashes beforehand. The only thing I don't like about this is that the ends are not flat so I can't stand it up when I'm applying the mascara; I'd have to hold it or put it on its side. It doesn't budge much but the end of the day there might be a tiny bit of transfer. I will definitely be repurchasing this when my one runs out!

This is by far the coolest mascara I have ever used. It’s a 2 step mascara consisting of 2 brushes, one straight and the other a curved brush. First apply the straight brush to add volume and then apply the curved mascara to get an amazing lift. It’s quite light, unlike some mascaras that feel very heavy. It’s very easy to apply, and not clumpy at all. It lasts all day and does not flake at all. It’s by far my favourite mascara to date. I would definitely recommend it as a one stop shop to get a salon like length and lift.

I'm a die hard two step mascara gal, primer always! I usually have two separate products, primer and mascara - so I was excited to see this mascara is a dual ended with both products in one. Hooray to one less product in my makeup bag!

The formula of the primer (1) is similar to a thin mousse. I was worried that it wouldn't stick to my lashes since it seemed slightly dry, but it did stick giving them a really light coat. The mascara end (2) is a much wetter formula, darker and contains fibres. It layers on top of the primer really well with one coat. A second coat adds a lot more length and volume, without being clumpy. I was cautious that the fibres could make the lashes look too clumpy, but as I kept adding layers, the lashes got longer, not clumpier. I was extremely impressed! The mascara definitely lives up to its claim of 'providing a lash extension effect' and for this reason moves into second place in the rankings of my All Time Mascara Favs.

Applicator - The primer applicator is a nice hourglass shape that allows for a light application. The mascara side is curved which really helps with applying more product, giving curl and volume, and getting to the inner and outer lashes. Wear time - It lasted throughout the whole day, smudge free! I did notice a slight drop in the curl of the lashes around the 4/5 hour mark, but the length wasn't effected. Then, I put it through the sleep test. Yep, I slept in it! There was no smudging, but there was a bit of flaking. The lashes didn't hold their length (I'm guessing the flaked bits came from the length of the lash) but my lashes were still black and coated when I woke up. Tear test - Thanks to Aunt Flo and the PMS that comes with it, I put this mascara through the tears test. It held out pretty well, but it's definitely not waterproof. The wearability reminds me of a tubing mascara as it tends to come off in flakes rather than black smudges down the face. Don't get me wrong, there was definitely still a bit of smudge when the lashes got wet but it was a lot less compared to traditional mascaras.

I was really impressed by this product and it will take a permanent place in my makeup bag. I would repurchase it based on how it makes my lashes look as well as value for money. I would recommend it to a friend, as well as all mascara fans who have managed to get this far through my review. Go grab yourself a great mascara gals - run, don't walk!

If I had to name one makeup product I couldn’t live without it would be mascara. I love trying out new mascara and love it even more when it stacks up to the hype and delivers on what it says it would.

I loved that this mascara did live up to its name.

Step one gave me the best results, my lashes appeared longer which I loved.

Step two was supposed to apply fibers to give extra length but I didn’t really notice a difference with this step.

I found the formula to be on the drier side, I would’ve liked it to be a bit more wet as I feel that applies better.

I loved the shape of the wand and found it coated the lashes nice and evenly.

The best part of using this was that it didn’t clump my lashes together as most mascaras do especially when applying two coats.

It was handy to have the primer and fibre in the one tube of mascara as this saves space in the makeup bag and saves time with application.

All in all it’s a great mascara and I’d happily continue using it.

Absolutely love love this no need for false lashes. Washes off really well no panda eyes. Super easy to use.

Two mascaras in one! Extremely convenient.

The mascara colour on both sides is a nice, rich black.

I prefer both the mascara and the brush on side 1, but paired with side 2 or makes quite the lash statement.

I found using side 1, then side 2 and a final layer of side 1 to finish it off. It gave me thicker and longer lashes with no clumping or mascara crumbles. It was extremely long lasting and removed nicely.

There was no overly harsh chemical smell, like I have found with other mascaras.

I really like using this mascara and would probably buy it again!
