Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips Review

My treat at the end of the day is to remove my makeup and put on some loose joggers! For my work I sometimes have to go on a building site which is dusty and dirty. Removing the elements of my working day is my first priority and Cliniques Take The Day Off is perfect for me. It doesn’t sting my eyes or feel harsh on my skin. It removes long stay lipstick easily as well as mascara. I follow up with Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturiser Lotion.

Clinique always gives these in gift with purchases, so even though I've never bought a full sized, I've used probably 3 mini bottles already. The bottles are great for reusing too if you want to decant a toner or makeup remover for on the go.

To use it, I shake to mix the liquid well and pour a bit out onto some makeup pads. I hold them over my eyes for a while then swipe off and it takes off so much makeup in just one swipe. It's quite relaxing and very gentle on my skin. It also works for general foundation and other makeup, but I find it does leave a bit of an oily feeling on my skin. Not a huge problem since I usualyl wash my face with cleanser right afterwards anyway.

I've found bi-phase makeup removers great for stubborn waterproof makeup, and this is a perfect example. Will take off your whole face at the end of a day with just a gentle wipe.

I wouldn't personally go out and buy a full sized bottle since I usually just get these for free with other purchases, but would definitely recommend this.

This is an oil based makeup remover, with which you have to shake prior to use. I find that this type of remover requires a little more product as the cotton pad tends to soak the bulk of the liquid.

This does a great job of removing waterproof mascara and eyeshadow. I had no problems with stinging eyes or sensitivity around the eye are like I do with other removers. I do find that this oil based type of product can leave a filmy residue on your eyes- this remover left less of a film than other supermarket brands Ive tried.

While I find this gentle and effective I have come to prefer using micellar water as an eye makeup remover so would probably not repurchase. In addition I do think that supermarket branded removers do as good a job at removing makeup at a cheaper price, although I do think this is gentler than most and less inclined to leave behind a oily film which may make the extra spend more worthwhile.

Got a travel/trial size of this in a gift pack and actually really liked it. Felt like it was cleansing the majority of my makeup off without too much effort. Will definitely be interested in buying a full size to give it a proper go when my current remover runs out!

doesn't really do anything for the skin but it takes the makeup off. Definitely better "skincare" out there but does its job 100%

This is a dual liquid make up remover. You shake the two liquids together to mix then put some on a cotton ball or swab, apply to face and wipe off. Pretty simple really.

After you have used this you will need to rinse this off if you are going to reapply make up. Myself, I don't like the after feeling on my skin of this so I do wash my face regardless, it feels oily gross.

Although this says for lids, lashes and lips, I use it all over my face simply because why have 2 cleansers that do the same thing. I also don't put it on a swab, after shaking I tip a bit into my hands and then apply to face, massaging a little in application. Your fingers glide over easily for a little 1 minute massage with this product, I then wipe off. This is my preferred method of use of liquid remover. It goes on easily and comes off easily as well. It did seem to take everything off.

This form is not my favourite remover so using this is going to continue till I finish the other bottle I have picked up, but I'm not planning on purchasing it at this time.

This eye make up remover is one of my favourite Clinique products. It is very easy to apply on a cotton pad and quickly removes all eye make up in a couple of swipes. I am always happy to see these in their "gift with purchase" bags.

This is such a great product, really good for sensitive eye area but I really struggle with the price! Maybe if it was a bigger bottle...
