Not what it used to be.

I had high hopes for this product given the history I have had with the original Garnier BB creams. Unfortunately this one wasn't like it used to be.

When it comes to BB creams, typically I can pick up any brand in Light and it colour matches beautifully. This one however, turned me somewhat Oompa Loompa. Had I been more tan and not so rosey light, it may have matched but wasn't my luck this time.

The texture however was good! Nice and smooth, didn't cake or separate on my skin.

Would be great if it came in a much lighter shade for light/fair tones.

Tips: Colour match if possible. The Light shade is more for those with a summer tan

Hello Donald!

I don't know what it is about these BB creams but they just don't work for me. I've also tried the anti-age one in this range.

I tried this on my wrist and the colour looked perfect so I got the shade Light.  It comes in a small tube with a flip top lid.  Texture wise it is just like a thick moisturiser.

For me this went on good but it has zero coverage so I just don't see the point.  But worst of all it turned a lovely shade of orange on me like most Garnier BBs I have used.....why??!!

I give up buying these now and if you have fair skin like me I don't recommend  at all....well unless you want to look like Donald Trump.

No coverage

Literally no coverage. It made my skin look so greasy. The only saving factor of this product is that it works as a great primer and contains spf. I used it under my fit me foundation and it goes on smoothly. If you’re looking for a good natural foundation, I would highly recommend the Morphe 2 hint hint skin tint. Not quite as cheap as this one but is still affordable and an amazing product.

Tips: don’t buy it if your looking for any coverage.

Average.

Love the price of this product, although probably wouldn’t purchase again. It does the job and gave me an even complexion, although I found it pills quite easily and wears off my face quite fast. It also would sometimes oxidise to a yellow/orange colour which wasn’t great. It also wasn’t so great on my sensitive skin and found it quite irritating. I’ve heard it works well for some others, although for me I’d rather invest in a more suitable BB cream.

It's ok...

All in 1 perfector? Hmmm, maybe not. PROS, it smells great, the coverage is light enough to wear every day and hides very slight skin 'imperfections'. And, it didn't move or melt off after a few tough workouts. I've used tinted moisturisers in the past that melt off as soon as you start sweating. CONS, it's only SPF15. My normal every day moisturiser is SPF50 so I was pretty hesitant to be out in the sun too long. It does transfer onto fabrics, so be careful around your white tees and don't be surprised if it ends up all on the inside of your facemask (if you wear one) It can be a little bit tricky to get it even on your skin, similar to foundation it can leave small fingerprint smears so you do have to pat/dab it in some areas. I managed to get it too close on my brow bone and it took forever to even out. Any dry patches of skin? Yup, it's going to get stuck and highlight that area. Not great. But...if you have perfectly smooth skin and just want something to make your skin look a bit more flawless without using foundation, then this is a perfect option.

Tips: You only need a pea sized amount for decent coverage. But just take extra care to check it's blended well.

Light shade is too dark

I’m using the light shade and it’s still way too dark and can be orange too, so I have to be careful how much I apply and blend it in real well. I’m not even the palest person ever, more of a light-medium shade. I can make it work though, some setting powder will also lighten it for me. I know people were complaining about the original bb cream in light being too dark, so their answer was to go even darker in their upgraded version!? This is a very hydrating bb cream, I still use a face cream or sunscreen underneath, it slides onto skin easily, doesn’t settle into fine lines and no dry patches being shown, but I find it a tad too oily. Even if I use a ton of setting powder I still shine through this bb cream by midday, I know it’s summer now and have had a few hot days, but I didn’t expect it to be this oily, my skin is even on the drier side, so not sure how this just makes me produce so much oil? I also tried it without any moisturiser underneath and the results are the same, just a bit harder to spread. It didn’t really hold up to the original bb cream, which was the first of its kind and an amazing idea and product, to me they didn’t improve anything at all, this just made me miss the old formula even more.

A good cheaper BB option

What I remember from my previous BB cream from Garnier is the smell, this is no different, it had an overall aloe kind of smell.

The texture is lighter than previous formulations, and blends in really well, with a really even mid coverage.

For me, I had to use a powder over top as rather than illuminating, it ddi look oily. It looks really nice with a light powder over.

I did have 2 breakbouts withib 2 days of using the product, which I havent had in a very long time..

Ultimately if you want a cheap, spf BB to throw on camping or quick trips this is a good alternative to have in your kit!

Tips: Check your colour! The "light" was very much my summer color which is more a medium..

Satisfactory

This didn’t wow me but it’s a decent enough BB cream.

It seemed to me to be a little bit darker than other Garnier medium shades I have tried in the past but it lasted all day and didn’t oxidise.

The coverage is what you’d expect from a BB cream but the finish is a bit too dewy for me but it was fine when I used powder to make it matte.

This has the regular Garnier fragrance to it which can be a little bit strong if you’re sensitive to fragrances.

Overall it’s a basic BB cream but you could find better

Tips: It still looks good under powder if the finish is too shiny for your liking.

Garnier BB Cream Classic SPF 15

I received the shade Light in the Classic formula to review which interestingly enough would've worked for my skintone if it didn't have a pink (cool) undertone. I find this strange because I am a tan golden-olive and if it almost works for me, I'm not sure it would work for someone who is actually light. In the past, I used Medium, but that was a bit too dark so I feel like even though it is a BB cream and will adjust somewhat, they do need more shades.

I love the new formula and I'm so glad it's got a bit of SPF now. It's so smooth and quick to apply, I just use my fingers. It's comfortable, no tacky feeling on the skin. It has a medium consistency and you don't need much as it spreads well. Feels extremely lightweight on the skin, like I'm not wearing anything which is what I want in a BB cream and it definitely evened out my complexion. It lasted very well throughout the day and even though I tend to lean on my hand a lot, it still looked fine hours later.

I'm pleased that they've made the packaging more eco-friendly and that they stayed with the simple tube design. I think this is a nice affordable BB cream if one of the shades suits you. If the undertone matches you, it will probably be able to adjust depth-wise. Like I said, this shade would've worked for me if it wasn't so pink. I would test it before buying if you can.
