Trust the hype!

I have gone through several sample pods of this eye primer and my favourite one is the shade "Eden" which is a nude matte and matches my skin tone perfectly. This primer dries down quickly, makes my eyelids look smooth and really helps to make my shadow last the whole day. It even lasts through a gym session! The only reason I haven't bought the full size product yet is because I've heard the doe foot applicator is difficult to work with and I prefer primers that come in squeezy tubes.

Tips: If you're using a shimmery shadow, apply it directly over the primer without setting it first - this reduces fallout and this way the shadow will really adhere to the lid and the colour will POP! If you're working with mattes, set the primer with a nude toned shadow first so it doesn't go patchy.

Best primer!

If you are like me and you love using eyeshadow, any one of these babies will be a staple in your beauty toolkit. Eyeshadow can sometimes be super annoying and getting it to stick AND to have pigment is tough. Applying this primer before eyeshadow gets it sticking ALL DAY. I have never had something that works so well. Best invention ever. Definitely my go to.

Tips: Apply a small amount to eyelid and add more if needed. Put on eyeshadow straight away for extra sticking power.

Amazing.

I've been wearing makeup every day, for years. In the last 6 months, I keep seeing girls around with the most vibrant, pigmented eyeshadow, and thinking to myself, "why isn't mine like that?". I prefer high end makeup brands with pigmented, buttery shadows. I have copious amounts of eye brushes, and endless techniques to apply it. What am I missing?

The answer? Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I purchased it on a whim, while shopping for skincare at Mecca Maxima. What a game changer! A little bit goes a long way. I apply my favourite shadows on top just as I usually would. But the difference is that when I get in the car after work and sneak a glance in the visor mirror, my eyeshadow still pops.

Thank you Urban Decay!

Tips: Try this in the mini first. It's 5.7g for almost half the price of the full. I've been using it every day for the last 3 months. There's still heaps in the tube.

UDPP

I've had this eyeshadow primer for a good few months now, and I do feel that it was worth the spend. However, I won't necessarily repurchase once I've run out (at least straightaway), as it still wasn't entirely perfect, and there are other primers I'd like to try as well.

The Good:

-Easy-to-use packaging. The squeezy tube is much easier to control than many other options, in my opinion, and it shouldn't be hard to get every last bit out once I finally run out.

-Creamy formula. It's easy to blend out on the lid (although it is quite a bit thicker than I had originally anticipated), and a little goes a loooooong way.

-Definitely makes shadows more vibrant. This works great with UD shadows (I have the Naked2 palette), but also with a few cheaper options that I use sometimes. It's nice to be able to use them and have them look just as pigmented and good-quality as a higher-end shadow, thanks to this primer.

-Prevents creasing/prolongs shadow wear. I have slightly hooded eyelids, and I basically *always* experience a bit of creasing because of that. However, this definitely puts a stop to that (at least for a while), and I do find that my eye makeup lasts for a considerably longer time than it used to without this.

The Not-So-Good:

-While this does prevent creasing, on me it doesn't stop it entirely after some time has passed. I personally am not bothered by this that much, as I still get at least 6 hours wear before creasing happens, but it is something to be aware of, particularly if you have very oily eyelids (mine are more normal/dry, I just get creasing because of my hooded eyelids).

-This is relatively expensive. However, as I said above, a little goes a long way, so I think that it is worth it, given how long it will last. Mine is in no way showing signs of running out at all, and I've used it a fair bit in since I got it.

That's it, really. I am pleased that I got it, and don't regret it at all, but because it doesn't *completely* eliminate the chance of creasing, I probably will try a different brand (I'm keen to try either the Two-Faced or NARS one) before I rush out and repurchase. The Elf one has had a lot of good reviews too, so I might investigate that option also.

Disappointing...

I got a 3.7ml trial size of this as a bonus when I got my Naked Palette. I was super dooper excited to receive it and even more excited to try it. I have semi-hooded lids so when my eyes are open you cant see much of the lid (which means OILY lids siiiigh) unfortunately this didnt work for me. I feel that it actually made my lids even MORE oily and made my shadow creasing even more obvious. It was a bit of a bummer to be honest. The only good thing I can say is I LOVE the pretty purple bottle n the silver lid/wand.

Crazy good!

I don't think I will ever use another eye shadow primer! This stuff is SO good. I have long understood the importance of eye primer and used different brands, they certainly made a difference and I would sing the song of the eye primer birds BUT this stuff is a whole new level!

At the moment I am using the 'Original' shade but I can't wait to get my hands on 'Eden'.

The formula is soft and silky and really easy to apply, it spreads a long way and does not feel tacky at all. It comes with a doe foot applicator, I tend to use this to put it on the lid then smooth out with my finger.

I have tested out an eye shadow palette using the same shades, one day with the primer and one day without. The difference was huge, when using this product my eyeshadow looked the same at the end of the day as when I applied it. Still as pigmented and not smudged at all, even after 12 hours.

Sometimes I find eye primer can make eye shadow harder to blend but that was not the case with this brand.

This is now my holy grail!!
