Prefer less scented

I received this in my beauty box in March. I've been using it for the last two weeks now and I've found it works really well. It does what it's meant to and leaves my face feeling really smooth and moisturised. I'm a bit unsure about the scent though as much as I love the scent (it smells so delicious!) I find it a bit to over powering for a face mousturizer. I would buy this exact same one without the scent so I plan on having a look and seeing if they have one available.

Trilogy victory

I squeaked a bit with excitement when I opened my amazing Beauty Review March Beauty Box and saw this Trilogy tube nestled within. I've long wanted to try Trilogy face products but haven't been able to justify the pricetag just in case they don't work for me.

This is the Vital Moisturising Cream, which came in a tasteful 50ml tube with a gorgeous brushed silver lid, and burgundy and black writing on a creamy background with a hint of pink to it. It looks lush and expensive just from the packaging alone!

The cream itself is thick and white, with a (very typical of Trilogy) botanical scent that is not overpowering , but pleasant and relaxing.

The cream spreads well - a pea sized amount will do your whole face - and is very rich and nourishing. Because of this, it can take a while to settle in, and so I choose to use it as a night cream and use a lighter one in the mornings.

I wake now to luscious, hydrated skin that feels plumped up and full of moisture, but not at all greasy. I haven't broken out once since I began using this.

My 'would I buy this again' is tricky here. It's too expensive for me, realistically, even though it's lovely. Duty Free, perhaps - we'll see how we go. I'd definitely consider it as it is seriously good.

Totally amazing

I put this on my face every morning and every night. I noticed changes pretty much straight away. I have sensitive skin but the trilogy cream sorted it out.

Lovely Moisturiser

I was very happy to see Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream in the March BRBB. Another wonderful natural NZ Made product that is not tested on animals.

I like the no fuss packaging - white and maroon box with grey writing. The box is lined with a picture as well (you will have to buy the product to see) :-) There are good instructions on both the boxed packaging as well as the tube of moisturiser. There is also a large list of Ingredients on the box as well as a Best Before date. Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream comes in a pearl white tube with grey writing and the distinctive maroon. The silver metal lid is a twist top and has the maroon colouring inside it.

I prefer to use Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream at night. It is easy to control the amount you need when squeezing the tube and you honestly only need the smallest amount. It is a reasonably thick consistency and quite rich. It does take a moment to absorb in to my face. My skin has stayed hydrated, soft to touch and smoother in appearance. The fragrance is floral but softens as you apply to your skin.

I would love to try more Trilogy products.

No - lots of faults

To start with I have combination skin that is generally not sensitive. I have lots of complaints about this product, it was really not suited to my skin at all! I found this cream to be very thick and highly scented. The scent is very earthy and herbal, not my preference at all and it was all i could smell through the day! When I first got it I used it in the morning, my usual routine is skincare, go have breakfast, brush teeth then come back to do my makeup. Usually this leaves enough time for the creams etc to set into my face before I go ahead and do my makeup, but no... this cream was still very present on my face seeming to take forever to sink into my skin. I could have blotted my skin and got a lot of residue off it, it was kind of yuck to be honest. I applied makeup over this (benefit of doubt) and wished I hadn't, my makeup was moving throughout the day and I looked terrible. Reviewing this I thought maybe this would be better suited to be a night cream. Long story short still did not like it. Too thick, too oily, too scented. reading the other reviews it seems like a lot of people do like this cream which I did find surprising to be honest, for sure seek out a sample size before you throw $40 away on a full size one and look like a slick seal all day.

Trilogy Moisturiser New Fan!

I loved receiving this in my beauty box because I have always heard good things about Trilogy but cant afford it, and it lived up to its reputation! It smells so fresh and nourishing and it soaks into skin very quickly, leaving your skin feeling soft and lovely. Highly recommended and it definately showed me that it is worth paying more for quality

Tips: I personally liked the smell but it may not be suitable for people who don't like to use scented products on their face.

Beautiful

We all need a good facial moisturiser containing lovely natural ingredients and that is what this is, although I would say that it's somewhat of a luxury product considering the price. The packaging also has a luxury, quality & sophisticated look and feel to it, the tube stands on it's aluminium screw-top and the product dispenses steadily with ease.

The consistency of the cream is ideal, works into the skin very smoothly, absorbs quickly, and is very hydrating. It feels light-weight on the skin and leaves it looking and feeling dewy- smooth. The scent however, I'm not a fan of. It's a very strong fragrant rose scent which I find is similar to some of the Essano products.

As much as i'm enjoying this product I can't justify the price. It's a beautiful product to use despite my personal disliking of the scent, but it just seems like too much money for me for not a lot of product.

My bank account is glad I don't like it!

$49.90? Surely that is far too much to pay for a good skin care product. I have always found the prices to be far too ridiculous for the product on offer. I have never really been a fan of many Trilogy products except the rosehip oil and this is not a winner either. Firstly the smell...did it have to be so highly perfumed and in your face?!

I found the texture pleasant enough. Creamy and quite velvety to glide on to my skin. After three weeks I would have expected a slight change at least. I waited in vain, I saw nothing. My skin is still dry, red and flaky. My skin actually broke out quite bad after five days of continuous use. I haven't had such bad breakouts since i was a teenager. The only thing I did different in my regime was use Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream. I expected my skin to just drink this in and become softer even but nothing.

I will continue to use it in case my skin and I change our mind on it but as it stands it's a huge no go for me. For the huge price I expected a big impact on my skin. I expected to like it. I guess it goes to show that a big price tag doesn't always mean quality.

Tips: Use after a good facial scrub so you are moisturising just cleaned skin.

Lovely!

Really lovely moisturiser, feels quite rich but not greasy which I love and also has a nice floral scent.

I have combo skin and whilst using this I've noticed my dry patches have disappeared but it also has not made my skin any oilier which is great. I love using it at night but also works nicely as a base for makeup as well.

A bit out of my price range but if I could afford to continue purchasing I definitely would.

Tips: Comes in a jar, or a bottle with a pump, SPF version also available.

My new daily staple

I was really excited to see a Trilogy product in the latest BRBB. I have been interested in this brand for quite some time. They seem to be making strides around the world with their products, and as a kiwi brand I thought I should probably try some more of it. I have tried their Rosehip Oil and wasn't particularly impressed. I had nearly finished my Essano Night Moisturiser so this was next to be tried!

I like the packaging. A simple white tube that has a tiny bit of iridescence to it which looks nice. The lid is really nice, covered in metal. When you take it off it is dark red on the inside which I like. Somehow Trilogy do dark red in a classy way rather than Moisture Mists old lady dark red.

I love the scent of this cream, although I do love roses. It has a lovely orange flower scent to it as well which stops it smelling too old. The cream is quite thick, but it smooths over the skin quite nicely. You do only need a small amount of it though as it gets thinner as your skin warms the product. The first night I used this I used far too much and I did end up having a break-out from too much richness on the skin. Since then I have been using it a bit more sparingly (which is great for the expensive price) and while I haven't noticed any major improvements to my skin I do like it, and it hasn't broken me out at all. Will I purchase this again, probably not. I do not feel like this expensive cream does anything special that a cheaper cream wouldn't. I will be back to the Essano Night Cream once this is finished. But I must say I was impressed enough I will be trying other Trilogy products when I have the opportunity.
