Good for a short time, not a long time .

I picked up my bottle of this foundation from the warehouse . I got it roughly for about $35 . For a drugstore brand I think it could be priced at a cheaper rate .

Packaging they’ve kept the square shaped bottle only difference is that they’ve added a pump on it. The shade I purchased was Golden. Golden is a perfect shade for my skin tone. It seems to be quite runny in consistency . Builds up nicely .

After an hour or so I notice that it seems to fade out. Next day I tried a primer and setting spray to try and hold it in place still faded out . My skin type is normal .

Overall I was hoping for a good result but unfortunately this didn’t meet my expectations. I think it should be marked at a $10-15 bracket rather than thirty dollar price tag. It’s definitely a nah bro , won’t buy again product. Test before you buy.

Not for me at all

I wanted to love this. I really did. I'm about to part with my long-term-foundation (L'oreal Infallible) as it's not being sold much anymore, and I was desperate to find a new long term partner. Verdict: it just does not like me. At all. I've tried it with 2x different primers, matte powder or normal powder and with my go to Revolution Sport Fix setting spray and the outcome has consistently been a flaky forehead within 10 mins, and transferring like nothing else - NOT good when I'm at a dance event and leaving a white face on all my partners cheeks!

I'll try with no primer, or applying with a brush rather than a beauty blender but I'm about to give up on this one and toss it in the bin. Have no idea how other people have managed to make it stay.

Tips: It is marginally better when I blend it with my normal foundation and apply them together, but I've not managed to make it work for me.

Big promises, disappointing results

Well, I was super excited to be added to this trial. After all, I am a mother and a full coverage foundation with 24-hour coverage sounds like a dream come true especially with the little amount of time on your hands. I used both application tools a foundation brush and sponge and the results were the same. If you are thinking you will be able to get away with using concealer to cover breakouts (especially around those delicate times) you will not get away with it. While it did even out my skin tone it certainly didn't cover the spots like the full coverage you would expect to receive. I was also disappointed with the "superstay foundation" I found by the end of the day more spots were visible than the start, and then my partner asked what I had brushed up against to my horror I found my foundation was sitting on my shoulder, it must have happened when I did a quick rub to satisfy an itch with juggling a toddler, keys, nappy bag, purse you know how it goes (how embarrassing as I had no idea how long it was on there for!). It is safe to say the things this foundation says in its headline it doesnt stand up to the test but I like to leave with some positives so here they are. I did not have a break out of acne so it certainly did not clog my pores. It did feel light on the face, it was not heavy at all. The application was easy as it was blended well not to thick or too runny.

Maybelline Superstay Foundation

I was excited to try this product and thought I’d close well with the shade Light Beige. However, on using the product it was too light for me, but may be better during the winter months. A little goes a long way. I found the consistency much heavier than my usual foundation, and it was much harder to apply. The end result was fairly matte and just a little chalky. On the plus side it definitely had staying power. Bottom line...it didn’t think it enhanced my complexion and wouldn’t use it again.

Tips: Choose your shade carefully.

Not The One For Me...

I was really excited to receive the Maybelline Superstay 24hr Full Coverage Foundation in the colour I chose, Light Beige, as I have been on the hunt for a new foundation.

I like the packaging, simple but practical, a glass bottle and matte white lid. I love the pump as it makes dispensing the product so much easier. It pumps out a generous amount of product, has a nice consistency and a pleasant, foundation type scent.

The Light Beige was too light for me, it would probably be ok in the winter but gave me a ghost-like look. My first application was not long after my skincare routine and I found it difficult to apply using the flat end of my beauty blender and stippling it into my skin. I then tried a foundation brush which was worse. I found using my fingers tips to most effective in getting even coverage. At a distance I did have a flawless, if not pale, look but up close the foundation seemed to sit on top of my skin and shifted, giving me a cakey almost scaley look.

I tried again the following day, this time leaving 30 minutes between skincare and application. I also used a primer which certainly helped with a smoother application and the rounded edge of my beauty blender. I applied the second layer to get a full coverage look. In a short time, the product had creased and was pooling into streaks on my skin. Again, I had a scaly look.

I didn't get 24hr full coverage on either day. If anything I felt it highlighted my flaws of enlarged pores, fine lines, and oily t-zone which was due to the product rather than the wrong shade. On the night of the first application, there was very little product left to cleanse off. I had more product left at the end of the second day but had built it up and used a primer.

While the Maybelline Superstay 24hr Full Coverage Foundation was not for me it quite possibly would work well for someone with younger and more flawless looking skin.

Tips: Pump a small amount onto the back of your hand, apply using a damp beauty blender or fingertips and work quickly as it does dry quickly.

Not for me

I picked this up from Farmers in the shade 03 true ivory, it was an ok match however it oxidises on me quite badly which is annoying.  It comes in a sturdy glass bottle and yay it has a great pump.

It is a nice medium consistency and applies well with my RT sponge, it is a medium coverage on me and when I tried to get more coverage it started to look a bit cakey.

A huge problem I found was that it kept transferring everywhere! If I touched my face you could see where I touched it and it ended up on the collar of my jacket, a real pet peeve of mine.

I noticed it looked patchy between my eyebrows and around my nose. Overall this foundation just didn't work well for me at all and I would not recommend it.
