Lush Soft Coeur Massage Bar Review

Devilishly delicious chocolate massage bar

Our soft-hearted, melty massage bar is designed for lovers and romantic trysts. Soft Coeur got its name from the delectable union of honey and chocolate in a soft center. You can break the heart in half to reveal the messy chocolate middle and melt it all over your favorite body to make him or her extra tasty. In fact, it's as good for your skin as it is for your relationship. Creamy cocoa butter, softening cocoa powder and almond oil condition your skin to leave it smooth while the honey chocolate scent makes your mouth water. Delicious!

Delicious Scent

This Lush massage bar smells delicious!

A solid bar until you place it on the skin, your body heat will slowly start to melt the outside of the massage bar until you have enough slip to give a proper massage. When the product starts to melt you'll smell edible from the delicious scent. I did notice that once used for a while it does get a bit messy, assuming from the Cocoa powder and feels a little gritty on the skin until "blended" in. I found myself wanting to have a shower afterwards to wash the residue and colour off and ensure my skin was all smooth.

It has a cute heart shape but it's a little smaller in comparison to other massage bars I have used before.

Tips: The scent lasts for a really long time on the skin!

Messy Chocolate Deliciousness

About a week or two ago I decided to buy this massage bar. My partner loves them so I decided to give this one a try. What drew me in was the scent.

I couldn't resist this cute shaped heart that's white marbled with chocolate. The scent of this massage bar reminds me of creamy white and milk chocolate. The texture of this is solid.

My partner gets sore feet due to past injury. On first application I found this massage bar smooth. But when I used it more the marbled chocolate started to stain my partners legs. Then I noticed the brown bits started to make a crumbly mess.

Overall I was highly disappointed with the texture. It's dirty and messy. It stains clothes and surfaces. The smell is absolutely gorgeous. So I gave it a 3 just for scent. I probably won't repurchase it .

Not a Fan At All!!!

For those that know me on here, they know how much of a Lush addict I am and love the majority of their products. Unfortunately this has to be the worst product I have used.

The one thing I like (and only thing I like) about this massage bar is the cute heart shape, super adorable and very romantic looking.

Scent - I really did not like this, I can't really put my finger on it, but it did not smell nice at all, maybe similar to expired chocolate mixed in with an old moisturiser that should have been thrown away a long time ago.

Using Soft Coeur - Its quite a small bar and I found it a tad hard to apply. Also I'm not sure if I was using it correctly but the chocolate went all over my skin and stained it, it felt horrible and smelt horrible and had to go and have a shower to wash it off.

This definitely does not put you in a romantic mood.

Lush SoftCoeur Good in Theory Messy in Application

I got this in the Boxing Day Sale. I definitely like using massage bars in the evening sort of like a solid body oil or they're fantastic for massaging the girls. This cute heart shaped massage bar boasting a honey and chocolate scent and nourishing natural butters and goodness caught my eye and I had to try it. It is smaller than the other massage bars so I definitely wanted to wait till I could get it half off. I really glad I didn't pay full price for this bar. What I did like about this bar is that all the ingredients are natural and skin nourishing - cocoa and shea butter, honey, natural fragrance, almond oil, glycerine and sweet orange and bergamot oil. The heart shaped bar fits easily in my hand and glides over my skin as the butters and oil melt and moisturize my skin. However, this is where the praise of this little massage bar end. I think this would have been a much better massage bar if they left the cocoa powder out. It's one of the those ingredients that adding it was good in theory but a mess in application. The cocoa powder mixes with the melted butters and oils on application and leaves dirty looking, dark brown streaks on my body and a mess on my hands as I hold the bar and massage my skin. I have tanned skin naturally so if the streaks show up on my tanned skin then it definitely stands out more on lighter skin tones. I did try tasting those brown streaks because I wanted to see if maybe it's a romantic thing sort of like the streaky version of edible chocolate body paint, after all this is supposed to be a romantic massage bar. But this tastes horrible. I tried to rub in the cocoa streaks hoping it wouldn't stain my sheets but it just balled up on my skin. So other than looks and the idea of chocolate the cocoa powder doesn't serve a purpose in the creation of this massage bar. Maybe the bar I received had too much cocoa powder but that dark brown center took up more up about a quarter to a third of the already small bar. I did try to remedy it by carving out as much of the cocoa powder as I could but once I did the bar started breaking up understandably and I only got about five full body uses out of this massage bar. Not impressive considering for the size of this bar it's one of the more expensive massage bars. I'm glad I only paid half price for this because I pretty disappointed with this bar. This isn't the worst massage bar from Lush but it definitely didn't make it to my list of ones I'd recommend or repurchase.

Tips: If you did purchase this you can lessen the amount of cocoa powder on your skin by scooping out the center where it's mainly concentrated but the bar is more likely to break. If you really must have this massage bar I would recommend choosing one out in store as opposed to buying it online just because you can pick one with less cocoa powder in the center. But honestly I don't this bar is worth it there are other massage bars from Lush that you get more for the price and don't leave dirty marks on your skin or stain your sheets.

A treat for my nose, but was it any good?

The reason I picked this up was because of the delicious chocolatey smell. In complete honesty, if anything smells like chocolate then I am very, very likely to purchase it, so I am happy that the chocolatey smell was long lasting during the day. However, at $14.90 for 30g of product, I am more than a little disappointed with this product. This product was quite messy, as it left chunks of cocoa all over my skin which were difficult to rub in. It also left my skin feeling greasy rather than moisturised.

So despite the delicious smell, I will not be repurchasing. Next time I want the smell of chocolate, I will just open up a chocolate bar.

Delicious is an understatement!

I was at Lush purchasing a few things for a birthday gift when one of the ladies showed me these, at first I thought they were soaps until she told me they were massage bars and oh my goodness I kid you not the smell of chocolate and vanilla honey was incredible! I agreed to add one to my basket of purchases but driving home I couldn't get that chocolatey scent out of my mind. When it was time to wrap the birthday parcel I set this aside for myself, it made me do it!

Its the first massage bar I have had so I was excited to use this, the heart shape is so adorable and fits conveniently in the palm of my hand. Once its in my hand it starts to melt quite easily, I keep it in a plastic container, the cold weather has been great to hold its shape but Im not sure how it will react once its Summer?

My babies love the massage bar more than I do, after their nightly bath they get me to rub this on their back and they smell so delicious. You can imagine what their bed smells like!

I have to admit I haven't tried this with my husband yet and its been more for the scent and not the massage side of things, I will be purchasing more definitely!

Chocolatey delight

I bought this in Lush's half price sale, as I think paying $15 for this tiny little thing is insane. It fits in the palm of my hand but doesn't reach the edges, so for $15 I think I'd only buy it when it was on special.

The bar is heart shaped which is fitting because I do heart it. Its white and has brown "chocolate" smeared through it. Whether that's edible or not I'm not sure, I haven't tried it... yet. It smells amazing, like sweet chocolate!

These melt really easily, but as I was living in a house with 0 insulation I found I didn't need them in the fridge at any time of the year. If it's too cold it does take a bit to get going but when it does you become a delicious smelling human.

I find it doesn't absorb well, but I have only used it as a back massage oil and not a body oil. However it leaves my sheets smelling amazing and my back is lovely and moisturized. I really like this and I'd buy it again, as it's lasted at least 4 months!

Soft, Sensual, sweet... and so cute

This is my utmost Favorite massage bar, I have a back up ready to go already and adore the scent of soft vanillary chocolate and honey.

I love Lush massage bars for being easy to use, simply rub on warm skin and it melts into an oil and away you go. This is perfect for less mess (no awkward oil spills). Only downside is in summer you need to keep them cool (it's not really a downside as such but more something to be aware of). I have found these solid bars great as they don't cause breakouts and are a wonderful couples treat or use as a beautiful scented all-over body moisturiser.

Grab a body-bar tin from Lush or simple plastic tub to help keep it fresh (and away from little fingers) and pop it in the fridge in summer (even in our warm house it didn't melt as long as it wasn't in full sun) but it is better to be safe. These wee bars can last and last and I find them great value for money (even more so if yo can grab one in the boxing day sale.

Tips: If you apply too much of this it can get a bit oily, the trick is to only apply a thin layer and then rub, add more if needed but always start with less.

Messy and overwhelming

I loved the idea of this massage bar. Like, really loved it. But expectations are hard to meet.

First of all, woah. The smell is overpowering. It was cloying and too intense for me once it was on my skin. Way too much fragrance.

The oozy middle was great, but it was a little too gooey. We had to stop the massage to get a towel because it was so runny and messy. It did add a nice twist to a relaxing massage though.

The oils did feel nice on my skin though and they were eventually well absorbed (once we scraped off a lot!). It felt nourishing and my skin was softer the next morning.

But the smell and the mess really turned me off.

Tips: Lay down some towels - it's messy!

Messy!

I seen this at Lush and looked like a fun idea. I had used other ones of theirs as a rich moisturiser on my legs and thought if the husband doesn't like this for massages I'll use on my legs.

So it is a cute we heart shape and smells amazing, until you massage onto the body. Then it's way to over powering. It's a real honey chocolate scent at the same time. If you massage on after a shower your skin is warm so this melts easy. Or if you apply any other time it does take a few rubs to warm the product up.

Now the inside has the cocoa. When I brought this I didn't realise it would be as clumpy and messy. I brought it thinking it would help massage the husband's back after working on the farm after a hot shower. Well no this is really a product you need to use then shower afterwards.

I wouldn't use again as its just to messy for me
