Have You Used an Elizabeth Arden Foundation Before?

Applying foundation is a tricky task.  It really is a skill that you learn through trial and error.  Brush, wedge, sponge, your fingers - each tool has it's pros and cons, and each tool works differently depending on the format of foundation.

Today we're looking at a cream foundation, which generally, are great for providing medium to full coverage, being easily buildable.  And this foundation comes complete with its own applicator too!  Oh.  And one of the ingredients......diamonds.  Actual diamonds!

Recently Elizabeth Arden improved their best-selling and beloved Flawless Finish Sponge-On Cream Makeup. The new formula delivers more of what was great about the orginal foundation:

  • more radiance-boosting benefits
  • improved complexion-perfecting ingredients
  • increased moisturising
  • a natural luminous finish that lasts all day.

Infused with micronized diamond powder, this light-reflecting foundation manipulates and scatters light to diffuse the look of imperfections. Immediately, the look of fine lines, pores, blemishes, scars and dark spots are diminished. Skin appears smoother and more even in tone, as luminosity and radiance are boosted. This moisturising formula offers medium to full coverage that feels comfortable and lasts all day.

And if you think the formula sounds amazing, how about the double-deck compact that's great for travel and on-the-go touchups. Open the top cover to reveal the cream foundation and a mirror, and flip up the bottom level for a contoured application sponge.

So, we think the interest in reviewing this for us is going to be high, so without further ado it's time to put your hand up.

How easy do you find it to apply foundation? If your regular foundation comes with an applicator, do you use it?  Or do you have a favourite foundation tool, independant to the foundation itself?  And what about your experiences with Elizabeth Arden foundations?

I haven't tried Elizabeth Arden foundation before but I would love to! I usually apply my foundation with a brush as I haven't had one that comes with a nice applicator before. This formula sounds amazing and would love the opportunity to try.

Yes but not for a really long time. My mum has always loved her Elizabeth Ardern products so it was kind of my first foray into makeup. I’d love to give this sponge on foundation a try. I can imagine it being easier to use to build up to the level of coverage you want which is perfect for me. And adding moisture into your skin is also a massive plus. I’d love to give it a go!

I have never tried an Elizabeth Arden foundation, nor have I tried a foundation where you apply with a sponge! I usually use a BB/CC cream first as a base and use a low-medium coverage foundation and apply with a flat-top brush. While in the morning it looks fine, I find throughout the day it oxidizes and i'm like an oompa loompa OR it simply just fades away and doesn't last as long. I can get quite oily too even when I set with a powder. I honestly just can't seem to get it right! I wonder if my BB cream is causing it? I love the medium-high coverage look, you can build it up to high coverage and it will help hide any imperfections!

I would live to try this, I have only heard good things about their foundations, even better than my beloved Clinique ! I would hope for a luxury feel both on application and finish, with a super blendable ability that my Clinique lacks at times. I would also hope that it has multifunction coverage, as I hate layering foundation and concealer- it clogs my pores and makes my nose are dry- so a little moisturising power would be amazing!

Ive never used a foundation By Elizabeth Arden but I have only heard good things about the quality of Elizabeth Arden products. I normally use Revlon colourstay foundation and I apply that with a brush but if a foundation comes with a sponge I will use that as typically designed / paired with that type of foundation. I would love to try this

I haven’t used anything by Elizabeth arden before. To me this seems like a more upmarket brand than I have had the chance to try. I struggle with finding a foundation to suit my skin that I can continue using long term. I would love to try something new! My fav foundation tool is the sponge beauty blenders, the more soft and absorbent the better (I use them damp) and when they plush up I love the feel as it bounces the foundation onto my skin

I haven’t used a whole lot from Elizabeth Arden so would be really interested to see how this preforms. I love to apply my foundation with a sponge, I used to use a big foundation brush but now I mainly reach for a sponge for its ease of use and the beautiful finish so would be intriguing to see how the contoured sponge in this works xx

I use foundation when I have the time, I don’t like caked on looks and really like the “natural” look!. I have tried applicators including, blenders and brushes and find nothing gets a more natural look than clean finger tips! Would love to give this a try as when I do purchase foundation I tend to test everything and never find the one that fits! So I tend to spend less rather than splurging on foundation.

You had me at Diamonds! I have used Elizabeth Arden cosmetics mainly eye makeup and have really liked them, but not a foundation. Would really like to trial this to see what all the hype is about. I do use my fav XO beauty foundation brush but would like to see what kind off a finish this applicator provides.

I wouldlove to try this foundation. the easier to apply the better in my book. My current look is OK, but as I age I feel I need a bit more. Plase consider me for this trial team, I keep applying and never seem to be selected. Once again, I would love to try this product. thanks so much

I am still looking for my holy grail of foundation. I have used all kinds and it varies between using my fingers, a sponge or a brush then I always revert back to BB Cream. I'd love to trial this foundation, please! My ageing skin needs a little more than BB Cream these days!
