Does your hair tie snap, snag or slide?

Hands up, who has a hair tie somewhere on their person, right now?  I have one on my wrist (I KNOW, you shouldn't do it), and one in my hair.  And one in my pocket.  And I've just had a dig around in the sofa and found three.  So there you go, without moving I have six bobbles* within reach.

Where would us mid to long haired gals be without a hair tie?  When life gets busy, mucky or active a bobble can make all of the difference to getting the job done.  And yet, they're not without faults.  Too small to wrap around three times, too loose when wrapped around twice.  Snapping.  Snagging.  Sliding.

And the NOOOO! when you lose or break your favourite elastic.  Sigh.  There may well be bigger issues in life, but at that moment, right then, the flump is real.

We're going to be sending out FIFTY packs of Mita Active Non-Slip Snag-Free Elastics to reviewers.  Each pack contains a mix of thick and thin elastics, ideal for all hair types.  The bands are snag free and won't pull or tug hair when you remove them, AND they each have a special non-slip silicone strip, which means your pony tail will be held firmly.

So - why not share your hair tie thoughts below - have you found the right hair tie for you yet?  What do you look for in a hair elastic?  How many do you have on you right now?  And have you found the answer to the age-old question...where do all the lost hair ties go?!

Once you have at least five well written reviews against your profile you can apply to join our Expert Review Panel by filling out this survey.

*Bobbles, don't you know, are what we Poms call hair ties.  That or hair bands.  Which is more confusing, so, I stick to bobbles.  What do you call your hair elastic?

I have very thin hair so I can never find a hairtie that lasts! I finally found one that will tie my hair tight enough, but it doesn't take long before it stretches and I'll need two or theee to keep my hair up! I do Taekwon-do (train and teach) so I need my hair to stay tied up while I'm training, and not have to constantly retie it, I would love to try this product, even better if it does work!!

I've got super fine hair and most hair ties slide out throughout the day, always look for a better way to keep the hair up

I voted No, because I have super short hair !!

I find a lot of my hair ties get too stretched out and lose their elasticity. I have really fair hair so I would love to try the blonde pack instead of going for the usual black which stands out too much. I like the look of these as they don't have the metal join that most of the ones I use do.

Omg yes it's absolutely doing my head in for the last few years I've actually had my hair in a very short pixie cut but just in the last 6 months I've let it grow to do something different with it an aaaarrrrggggghhhhh it's down past my shoulders an driving me nuts cause the hair ties either snap half way through putting up my now long mop of hair or tangles in it so u gotta either cut or rip it out then remove said ripped out hair off the hair tie ouch then you hav it all looking gorgeous an a lil while later it looks like ya just got out of bed when the hair tie slips an you tighten the ponytail and hav hair popping out every which way so out comes the tie to start the whole drama all over again these new ones just sound way to Good to be true if they are as amazing as they sound I'd absolutely get them for my beautiful lil sister an all my gorgeous lil nieces

So want to try this product. I look for hair ties without the metal connector so as not to further damage or snag in my hair. But unfortunately all of the metal free bands I've tried are constantly breaking on me. I go through so many it's not even funny! Would love to find one that lasts the distance without breaking, snagging or tangling!

Hair ties are my nightmare. Once I can actually find one it is either to loose to use or breaks. Then there is the problem that by the end of the work day it is slip down and out falls my hair to my me look like a mess.

Surely the only people that have no hair tie woes are the people who don't use them.

Seem to snap everyone in packet till the last one that lasts 6 months or so.

Cannot use the ones with metal joiners ever again now the new ones without have been released. So simple but life changing.

It's so hard to find a good hair tie these days, I hate the ones with metal joiners on them. As I have thin hair and also a 4 year old daughter that I share hair ties with, we go through them quite often and it can be hard to find good ones that you don't have to twist round and round your hair lots of times to get them to stay. Also I've found recently the brand we have been buying break all the time or loose their elasticity. I would lI've to try these

I hate it how I straighten my hair and then once it's tied up and I decide to take the hair tie out it leaves kinks in my hair. It would be lovely to have a link free one. Also after so many uses they end up snapping! Surely there has to be an unbreakable hair tie. I'm up to try these hair ties as I need my hair tied up for work as a personal trainer.

Aaarrrgggghgghhhhh drives me craaaaaazy!! Never have I found tho perfect hair tie. My hair breaks really easily so any snagging is awful!!! I'm pretty sure there is a hair tie fairy that steals all my hair ties when I'm asleep.

I can so relate to all the comments from other members of the BR team. Hair ties are such a pain and you can never have enough. Don't like the ones with metal as they break real fast. Can't get the right number of loops as they are either too tight or too loose. You always need to ensure you have some lying everywhere, bedside, purse, dresser, bathroom, office drawer.....just name it I buy a standard pack from Countdown.

I have thick hair and its really heavy so hair ties just dont hold irlt up. Forever having 6o redo do my pony tails. Very interested to see if these can do what they say.

Ugh!! The whole hair tie thing is one of my life's biggest PIA. Like you say, there are worse things in life of course, but at the time when I'm running late for work, my hair is all over the place and I give my daughter the only good tie I can find leaving me with the snagging one with hair bunched in one place from the last time I wore it - it is so frustrating I could scream. Not an ideal start to the day! These sound great - and comes with a resealable pouch? Awesome.
