Does your hair tie snap, snag or slide?

Hands up, who has a hair tie somewhere on their person, right now?  I have one on my wrist (I KNOW, you shouldn't do it), and one in my hair.  And one in my pocket.  And I've just had a dig around in the sofa and found three.  So there you go, without moving I have six bobbles* within reach.

Where would us mid to long haired gals be without a hair tie?  When life gets busy, mucky or active a bobble can make all of the difference to getting the job done.  And yet, they're not without faults.  Too small to wrap around three times, too loose when wrapped around twice.  Snapping.  Snagging.  Sliding.

And the NOOOO! when you lose or break your favourite elastic.  Sigh.  There may well be bigger issues in life, but at that moment, right then, the flump is real.

We're going to be sending out FIFTY packs of Mita Active Non-Slip Snag-Free Elastics to reviewers.  Each pack contains a mix of thick and thin elastics, ideal for all hair types.  The bands are snag free and won't pull or tug hair when you remove them, AND they each have a special non-slip silicone strip, which means your pony tail will be held firmly.

So - why not share your hair tie thoughts below - have you found the right hair tie for you yet?  What do you look for in a hair elastic?  How many do you have on you right now?  And have you found the answer to the age-old question...where do all the lost hair ties go?!

Once you have at least five well written reviews against your profile you can apply to join our Expert Review Panel by filling out this survey.

*Bobbles, don't you know, are what we Poms call hair ties.  That or hair bands.  Which is more confusing, so, I stick to bobbles.  What do you call your hair elastic?

My hair is finally long enough to put in a pony tail, and I want to keep it long! But dang hair ties snagging and pulling hair means it's more prone to breakage! Would love to try these.

so frustrating! I find that my hair ties last a matter of weeks before the elastic inevitably goes or it just fully snaps. I do buy the ones without the metal bit as it's gentler on my hair.

It's always hard to get that initial 2 loops and then it stretches so only 3 will do it, then your hair falls out of the ponytail then it dies.

I only use one at a time because otherwise I'd lose them all over the house and I'm not made of hair tie money!

I have a hair tie on my wrist too! My hair ties always snap too! So annoying. I have log and super thick hair which means I go through hair ties quickly. Beucase my hair is so thick I tie it up almost everyday too. The non slip silicon grip sounds amazing. My pony tails always come loose as my hair weighs it down lol. I always go for hair ties without the metal band too as they seem to last longer.

I don't have to worry about that anymore because my hair is too short. I am in the process of trying to grow my ringlets back though with it being at my ears and going through that awkward stage urgh. In the past my hair ties snap all the time. I have very thick hair so twice looped wasn't enough but 3 was a no go. Would be interested in reading the reviews on these though for future reference.

I'm forever losing hair on 'non snag' hair ties. I also get so frustrated when two loops is too loose but three is far too tight, it would be nice to have a non slip hair tie that holds just right!

I love the look of these! I've been getting into exercise more lately and have had my hair cut a bit shorter. Not a good combo, so would love to try these!

I'm always buying tonnes of new hair ties because they don't last, they don't hold up my long hair and they cut off the circulation on my wrists lol. They always turn up in the most bizzare places I never know how they make their way to every corner of each room. I would love to trial these, yes please....

I've thick hair so have to use two hair ties but I find they definately snag and then after awhile they snap and off to hair tie heaven they go 'sigh'

I'm always breaking hair ties when trying to put up my long and thick hair! I go through so many hair ties. These look like they would be awesome to try

I have really long hair which is usually french braided. I don't wear my hair in a ponytail very often because long hair even when it's fine still has a bit of weight. And find that french braids hold my hair the best. The main place I use elastics are at the end of the braids. So I have a few of non-snag hair ties and I do keep an eye on them so they don't go missing but if they did they were like $2 at the dollar store and I would happily buy more.

Hair tie drama is a big part of my life. As a dance teacher my hair is up most of the time. I prefer it in a plait but trying to find hair ties that security hold it together all day is a nightmare. I thought I had found the perfect hair ties a while ago but I have I not been able to find them since. I'm trying to be super careful with the ones I have left and not lose them. I always have hair ties with me as often my students will forget theirs or theirs snap half way through a lesson. Would love to give these a work out for you.

I swear I have the worst luck with hair ties! I found some great ones a little while ago in the supermarket and haven't been able to find them to repurchase! I have super long hair (almost to my bum!) and I really struggle to find anything that keeps all my hair up. The worst is when they snap the very first time you are using the hairtie! I need to still find my perfect brand, currently I need to wrap the hair tie around 3 times, but lots of brands only have enough stretch for 2! Why is this so hard!? haha

I always wear my hair up. I wear a Mum bun on the daily. In fact it's so bad I have a bald spot from where my hair sits tied up. I have so many *bobbles laying around but when I need one i can never find one

I live in hairties. Even wear them to bed which I probably shouldn't. I have long hair and with two boys to keep up with I need my hair out the way. I have them strategically placed everywhere. But why is it when you buy a pack of fifty within a week your back to five????

19th April, 2017

Yes. I have all of these issues with hair ties. They're either too tight to go around enough times or so loose that my hair keeps coming out which is not ideal, especially in the middle of a busy work shift. I also often find I am pulling out a lot of hairs when I take it out at the end of the day. I also have problems with them snapping too frequently. I love that these are snag free and the silicone grip sounds intriguing.
