This last week a miracle happened: I wasn't too hot in bed. In fact, my duvet stayed on all night. There was no sweating. No tossing. No turning. No hiffing back the duvet early in the night only to tug it back on in the early hours in the morning when the temperature dropped. People, I do believe that Autumn is coming, and I'm ready.
I can't wait to embrace the cooler months. To swap my swimming togs for scarves. My jandals for boots. My flippy frocks for cosy sweats. Even more than that, I'm looking forward to delving into my makeup collection and swapping out my easy breezy glosses for vampy lipsticks in shades of burgundy and plum. I might even get my 90s on and swathe my lips in rich, chocolatey browns.
My nails will be getting a seasonal makeover, too. Out will go the sweet pinks and cute nudes, and in will come delicious navy, not to mention rich, velvety purples, and if I'm feeling particularly vampy, I'll apply a black feature nail.
My bronzer may well not see the light of day until Spring pops up to say hi, but I foresee my blush shades changing from peach and light pink shades to beautiful mauves and deeper, rosier colours that are reminiscent of the flush one enjoys after a long walk on a chilly morning.
Even my eyes will get the right royal Autumnal treatment. While a one and done shimmery shade is my go to during summer, in winter I like to get experimental, bringing rich, jewel tones into the mix to create smouldering looks, complete with lusciously lined eyes, which I don't bother with in summer, because it hinders the opportunities to randomly jump into the sea or a pool (and if you've ever done so with a face full of makeup, you'll know the pain of the sting of gallons of makeup streaming into your eyeballs - ow!).
Yes, the time has come for more is more, and I am ready.
But what about you, my beauties? Are you a fan of the cooler months? Will you be changing up your style to suit? What about makeup? Or will you be keeping your look similar whatever the weather?

I think this is super important, especially depending on those living with such extreme changes in weather as well. I know here in little old NZ we sure get beaten weather wise by snow, wind and wind chill and buckets of rain/storms on the regular in late autumn winter! My skin normally becomes pretty dry when it normally is, so picking appropriate products is key to helping my skin feel soft and not looking dehydrated
