Last week we brought you the history of the Beauty Counter and we're heading back to Selfridges again this week.
Selfridges are currently running The Beauty Project - a six week programme of 'pioneering talks, interactive debates and immersive beauty experiences' to help understand the public's definition of beauty.
Celebrities, designers, stylists, photographers and makeup artists are taking part and the collaboration that has caught our eye is Dior's contribution to The Beauty Project. Their Kingdom of Colour 2014 collection contains the Nail Artistry Box, exclusive to Selfridges and inspired by Christian Dior's famous superstitions.
In their own words:
"The House of Dior provides all the essentials for a graphic and arty manicure in a single box set:
Swarovski Elements crystal rhinestones bring a touch of fantasy for glittery and sophisticated nail art.
Star and shamrock transfers decorate nails with the mark of a "lucky charm", homage to Christian Dior's superstitious side.
A metallic lacquer can be applied as a backdrop or layered with the Dior transfer patterns.
The Gel Coat provides spectacular shape and shine as the finishing touch to these couture looks."
The two stencil sets included in the kit are said to be lucky charms, loved by Monsieur Christian Dior.

Dior's superstitions are said to have increased with age - a few of our favourites include:
- He never began one of this fashion shows without first consulting his tarot card reader, Madame Delahaye.
- In every collection he launched, he included a coat named after his birth place, Grandville.
- In every show at least one of his models had to wear his favorite flower, Lily of the Valley.
- His favourite number was 8 - his atelier included 8 floors and 8 workshops
- He carried lucky charms in his pockets at all times and was always on the look out for portents.
Dior teamed with Anatole Rainey to create the box.
Dior's newly appointed International Nail Designer is a mancurist who has worked on the nails of Kate Moss, Gwenyth Paltrow and Brad Pitt, as well as designing nail looks for companies like Prada, Saint Laurent and Mulberry.
Retailing at 46 pounds (around $90 NZ) the Dior Nail Artistry Box contains - Dior Vernis in Chrome, A glossy gel top coat, 2 sets of nail stencils, Swarovski crystals and a cute pair of Dior tweezers.
We're quite in love with the bejewelled feature nail look created with with the set, but let's turn it over to you.
Do design pedigree and prestige automatically make a product desirable to you? Are nail stencils fashion forward, or a flash back to your school days? Would you brand your nails with a designer's monogram? And would you pay almost $100 so you could? What do you think of the Dior Nail Artistry Box?

Definitely would pay big money to use a designers monogram - the sparkly finger looks nice for a special evening - think I would just stick to the plain silver! Definitely wouldnt pay $100 for a nail polish - outrageous
