Are you a bath or a shower girl?

"The next house we live in will have a bath" .  I've hmph'd this sentence more times than I can remember to The Husband over the years.  And sure enough, the new house came with a tub.  And I've been in it 4 times in as many months.  Twice with Milky Chops.

And yet just knowing it's there is satisfying enough.

Baths are like a portal.  When you find yourself with that elusive spare hour - forget catching up on the chores, exercising, or watching an episode of Broadchurch.  Time spent in a bath is an investment.  An hour feels like hours.  Plug in your iPod or grab a book, thow pour in some flubbles or chuck in a bath bomb and ahhhh, relax!

Now apparently there are some people who don't like baths.  Chandler Bing for one.  "Stewing in your own filth" is what he likened them too.  And I have to admit - showers do have many benefits that baths don't.

  • Showers can be relaxing or invigorating.
  • Showers are immediate.  Baths need to be drawn, showers you just turn on and hop in.
  • Showers can be quick.  A quick bath is a waste.
  • Speaking of waste, we all know that baths waste much more water than even a long shower right?
  • Showers are the perfect place to multi task.  You don't want to share your bath water with your freshly removed stubble right?

And yet I still will not go back to the days of a bathless house!

Over to you - are you a bath or shower girl?  Tell us why below!

I'm a shower person only because I have a busy lifestyle with work and family. I would more than likely drown in the bath as I'd fall asleep in there.

I'm both! Summer I tend to shower more. Winter I live in the bath, both my pregnancies I lived in the bath couldn't get enough, I gave birth in water.

I absolutely love bubble baths in winter and scrubby cool showers in summer, just bliss!

I used to LOVE baths when I lived back home. Bath salts or bombs, bubble baths, luxurious gels, anything that made the water a shiny different colour... I was all over that! Since moving away from home and being privy to all manner of homes with no baths, I've gotten used to the shower. The shub. The hand-held. The fixed. The two knobs. The mixer. The dribble. The way-too-powerful. I actually enjoy the fact I can nip in and out of a shower to warm up/cool down without the hassle of waiting for the bath to draw, making time to sit and soak, etc. Plus, in summer, it's just too hot for a bath! I will say though, baths are EPIC for sore muscles - my lower back tends to give out frequently so chuck some Radox Muscle Soak in there and I'm good to go.

every day washing is to clean my hair and body - so a shower works best - and I don't waste precious water (or precious time for that matter). But now and then, when the kids are in bed and I can ignore the housework, there is nothing better than a long pampering soak

I love a bath n the winter to warm my bones. Showers are for when i am in a hurry or during the summer.

I absolutely love having a bath using lush products but then a shower is my quick thing when I'm in a rush ! Long soaks with candles bliss

I'm a shower girl. I do love baths though and I want to have them more often. I don't think I've had a bath since I was 10 years old! I shower now because its quicker and more economical.

My Friday nights are "me" nights ... I run nice warm bubble bath and ease into it before exfoliating my face, then I apply a face mask, lie back and let the stresses of the week just melt away! A wonderful way to unwind and embrace the start of the weekend.

I prefer the shower because I'm so impatient I hate waiting for the bath to fill!I do have a spa though so with that always ready to just jump in I haven't had a bath since we got it. I am yet to convince hubby to let me put a bath bomb or bubble bar in the spa though. One day girls.... one day!

I have to shower, I love a good soak in the bath but I'm on tank water so can't afford the water for a bath.

Well I would have to be a fence sitter on this one. I do love a good shower for cleansing, refreshing and waking me up. But having lived in places without a bath for over 5 years now I do miss the days where I'd have weekly me time in the bath with a good book and just relax.

Love love love a good long soak in the bath with a glass of wine, scented candle and bubble bath! But a bath is a treat in our house as we are on tank water! Shower everyday. Like to use nice body wash etc to make it luxurious!

I'm an a third option I need both but I only have a shower. The worst part about that is that is I found out about all the amazing bath products after I moved into a house with no bath tub. I really miss it! I love taking nice long baths and listening to music or reading a book. When I was younger and my family would go on vacation, one of the first questions we'd ask about the rooms is is there a bathtub, because since we were paying to rent the room we'd blast the aircon and take as many baths as we wanted and then squabble over who used up all the foam bath and try to ask for extra when the maid came to make the room if we could have a few extra bottles. Taking a bath was a highlight of our vacations almost after eating breakfast at the all-you can eat buffet. When I got older I pre-purchased foam bath for vacations and that's when we ended up renting cheaper rooms with shower stalls. :-(

Bath definitely. Whenever I go to a hotel, it just makes it feel so much more luxurious! But in summer, it's way too hot for a bath, so a quick cold shower is best

I love both! after a stinking hot walk home from work with no breeze, the shower was cool and refreshing. But in winter, a long soak in a hot tub with bubbles and red wine and my Kindle, is fabulous!
