How do you keep your kisser kissable?

We all use lip balm right?  Most of us probably own more than one.  I recently confessed to having 15 open and 13 unopened lipbalms.  They're every where, my handbag, husband's glovebox, on my desk, in the spice rack, the junk drawer, the nappy bag, and on the bed side table.

There's something instantly comforting about a good lip balm and if you keep up with keeping your lips hydrated and smooth you can pretty much wear any lipstick; and even if you have a lippie-free day, your pout will be close to perfect.

But what happens when lipbalm isn't enough?  Chances are you've suffered dry, flaky or chapped lips - it happens if you've been under the weather, had a heavy night on the town or been out in the extremities.  Even air-conditioning can dry them out.

This is where gentle exfoliation is an effective tool.  When I was growing up, all of the teen mags recommended gently brushing your lips with a toothbrush, which I tried.  Once.  Never again when I was left with lip skin in my toothbrush.  (In my defense it never said to use a different toothbrush to your regular one!)  Nowadays I tend to gently rub my lips with a washcloth in the shower.

I know lip scrubs are really popular and I have one, I just forget to use it most of the time!

So, how about you?  Do you rely on lipbalm to keep your lips smooth or do you use some kind of exfoliation?

I either use a lip scrub or a washcloth when I'm in the shower to exfoliate my lips, and then lather them up with a good lip balm (which changes all the time bc I can't keep track of the same lipbalm for more than 2 days). The Lush bubblegum lip scrub was the first one I used and it's so good, lasts forever too

I have found that not all lip balms are created equal. Some have the so called hydrating properties, but when applied you get stuck in the circle of constant re-application without actually fixing the issue of dry lips. I would say that I use lip balms all year around, most certainly more in winter. I have Natio lip balm stick at work and Elizabeth Arden lip protectant stick in my makeup bag, for on the go. It has a gorgeous buttery feel and hydrates beautifully. I also have an Elizabeth Arden tube of lip protectant beside the bed, and this has a vaseline consistency, put that on at night, and lips are smooth and luscious the next morning. I prefer tubes and sticks, pottles don't do it for me, I find the sticks and tubes more user friendly

A bit of both... a decent balm on a daily basis, but at least once a week I give my lips a good scrub (more often if I feel they need it) with my favourite lip scrub.

I typically just use lip balm! Though I try and give it a bit of exfoliation with a damp towel

E.A 8 hour lip protectant stick is my current go to. Would love to give this a whirl x

I've actually been without a lip scrub for the past two months and I've missed it. Since the big relocation, my lips have been chronically dry and cracked and I've been swimming in lip balm, one medicated and the other petroleum based. I've even had to stop wearing lipstick to the office but I'm hoping that I'm on top of the dry lips now and lipstick will be back in the daily routine!

I just use plain old lip balm. I have the lush lip scrub too which I should use more often

I do the toothbrush & lip scrub combo, Using a separate toothbrush for lips I dab the lipscrub in and scrub all around before rinsing off, I like it better so I dont get it on my hands lol, then afterwards I apply lipbalm, its crazy how dry my lips have been, lipscrubs and lipbalm have been a massive life saver this winter <3

I use a lip balm every night before bed, sometimes I wake up with really dry lips if I don't and I love the feel of my lips nice and soft and moistured before I fall asleep. I have never exfoliated but would love to try a lip scrub, must get one next time I'm out.

I wear lipsticks daily now a days so I have to exfoliate my lips daily. Lipbalm is everything for me.

Best lipbalms I have are X-Tase by Marinello Cosmetics, Denmark, given me by a fellow passenger on a flight from Ldn to JFK a couple of years ago

I use a lip scrub in the morning then lip balm during the day If I'm not wearing lip balm and honestly I still have dry lips lol
