Versace Yellow Diamond Review

I really like this perfume. It does have a slightly lighter warmer smell compared to the bright crystal. Bright crystal has definitely been one of my absolute favourites so I wanted to give this a try. I instantly liked the way it smelled and I possibly even liked it more than the original. It is lighter and warmer and instantly appealing. The only thing that is a drawback is that it doesn't last long at all which is really disappointing because if it had a wee bit more depth ad lasted a lot longer I would really love it. After a few hours it is nearly gone from my skin. I hope they have another one similar that lasts a lot better. I think I will be going back to the original.

I got the Versace Sampler Box Set as a gift from my husband for my birthday this year. This is one of the scents that was in the set. I had never tried any of the Versace brand perfumes so was excited to give it a go. When I think "Versace" I think expensive brand, superior quality, top notch products.

First impressions of the perfume was "is that it?" I was expecting more. I was expecting to instantaneously fall in love with this scent. It is a pleasing scent. Not overpowering. Reminds me of a chic, well presented woman. Classy. To me it smells slightly spicy. The little spray didn't say whether it was a EDT or EDP but as it barely lasts 2 hours i'd say this one is a EDT. It really doesn't last long at all and the smell gets lost very quickly after application.

I've been wearing it daily for the last two weeks, hoping that i'll change my stance on this fragrance but it hasn't. It smells average to me, underwhelming for the brand represents. This is not a product that I want to add to my favourties.

I have this as part of a set of Versace perfumes. I do like the bright yellow design of this bottle with it's nice solid square design and the big gemstone style lid, that looks like a large citrine gemstone, just oozes high society glamour. The fragrance, however, was something less glamorous to me. Initial smell I got from spraying this on gently told of lemons and gradually softened upon entry of pear fragrance, revealing a soft scent reminiscent of lemon trees in the summer.

This is the summer scent! Yellow is the perfect word to describe this- young, bright, happy, fresh. The strongest scents I get out of this is lemon. Not the exact lemony smell you get from cutting up a lemon, but the kind of smell that you'd go 'yup, that's gotta be a lemon'. At first it somehow reminded me of those citrus toilet air fresheners but as it develops it becomes much nicer. It's perfect for hotter days because it's not cloying nor too sweet. The bad thing is it fades very quickly. I have the edt (don't think this is available as edp actually). And it's gone after one or two hours. I would've liked it if it could stay a bit longer, so I wouldn't have to reapply it so often.
