Amazing.

I love this product.

I didn't think I could find another cleanser I love as much as my Bossy Oil cleanser but this is a very close second.

What I love about it. - Natural ingredients - Smells divine - Removes stubborn eye makes easily yet gently - You can apply while sitting on your bum on the couch, then wipe of with the ultra soft organic damp face cloth provided or you can do it in the bathroom. :) - Leaves your skin feeling beautifully soft and smooth and super clean.

I think it will last for ages as it really goes a long way. Amazing price for such a quality item.

Tips: Rub generously into the eye area to remove stubborn eye make up.

trilogy cleansing balm holy grail

I am so thankful for receiving this in the september beauty review beauty box.

the only downside of this is getting it out of the container- would be nice to have come with a little spatula or spoon.

I love the facecloth it comes with but its not essential to its effeciancy.

The product is very hard but melts easily in your fingers. It feels lovely on the skin and absolutely melts off any trace of makeup, I do generally use a seperate eye makeup remover as i use benefit they're real and i have not found one product that will remove that.

Once I have washed off the cleansing balm, my skin feels smooth and clean.

i love this stuff i really feel like I am putting something good on my face and i love how easy it is to take off my makeup!

Balm Glorious Balm

I received this cleansing balm in the September Beauty Box and thought it looked like another great Trilogy product.

It comes packaged in a cute little brown pot with a black screw top lid. It also has a nice face cloth.

When I opened the lid, my first thought was that it looks like a cross between candle wax and coconut oil. It has an unusual, but pleasant scent, maybe most attributable to the mango it contains. It has fabulous ingredients such as mango butter, and sunflower, olive, rosehip, and coconut oils.

The instructions say to just use a ¼ teaspoon, but I find that isn't anywhere near enough, so I use more. I use it as instructed, massaging it into my skin then washing off with a wet face cloth. I find it does a good job. I was hoping it would leave a soft oily residue behind it, with all the oils it contains, but this was not the case. So once my skin is clean, I massage some into my clean skin and it leaves a nice waxy soft feel on my skin.

I think this is an interesting product, and the pot will last me a while, but I’m not sure if I’ll repurchase it. Actually, it would be a great travel product as it removes make-up, cleans the skin, and is a great night moisturiser – 3 in 1, saving space !!! I would definitely consider re-purchasing it to take on a trip with me (if I ever get to take a trip).

Tips: Tip: I think it works better if you massage it in, then have a hot shower, then apply some for moisturising. It makes my skin feel glowy and healthy when I do that instead of just washing off with a face cloth, as that leaves my skin a little dull for some reason.

I really disliked this

Usually when I write reviews, I like to give products a really good use of at least a few weeks before reviewing. This though, I could only bare to use twice. I tried to tell myself to use it a couple more times at least but I was dreading it. This product really irritated my eyes for hours afterwards and even a little the next day. I don't think it was an allergic reaction, more having to use the product right around my eyes and it got in it.

This does come nicely packaged in a thick plastic jar. It's quite small for the price I feel though. It only has 80mls and retails for almost $40. This does come with a cloth but I've misplaced it somewhere so I'm not sure how great it works with the product.

This has a very thick consistency, it's solid but squishy as well. It reminds me of a coconut oil texture and I assume it goes harder in cold weather and may melt in really hot temps (it says to store under 30° temps). It has an interesting fragrance, really natural and herby, it's not perfumed at all. The scent isn't super strong but it's not faint either.

Now this says you only need 1/4 teaspoon and it will melt off any makeup. I found this was not enough product at all. You need at least double that to do anything. Also by melting, they really mean you need to work really hard to get eye makeup off. I had to rub quite vigorously to get my mascara off and I still had to go over it again with a new lot of balm. It works OK with face makeup but I did find I was still left with a bit of foundation still on my face.

I was happy to at least give this a go and it was what I was most excited about trying from the beauty review box. I'm actually using a trilogy night cream at the moment that I'm loving so this product hasn't put me off the brand at all.

I think if you only wear very light makeup and have dry skin, then you might like this. Might Anyway!

It's a miss for me

I will start out by saying I LOVE this type of product for makeup removing/cleansing. I adore the Clinque Take The Day Off Balm & The Body Shop Sumptuous Cleansing Butter so I wanted to love this product, I mean really really wanted to. Sadly it didn’t live up to the hype and I definitely dont love it.

Like many others I found a quarter teaspoon not quite enough product. I do like the consistency and application of the product. It feels lovely to gently massage around and dissolve makeup while cleansing.

I found it really doesn’t remove my eye makeup AT ALL though! In which case I find myself having to remove my eye makeup before using this item and this just means more effort.

I don’t have sensitive eyes but find my eyes feel blurry and watery after using this also. So those would sensitive eyes probably wouldn’t enjoy this product at all for eye makeup removing. I find the skin around my eyes gets really dry/flaky using this also – quite the opposite to what I thought would happen.

The packaging is simple and elegant, not a fan of the smell and although the cloth that comes with it is a nice touch, I threw it away after a week. It stains so badly and ends up just looking manky (even when it’s clean).

Overall this is just so-so for me. I would rather use one of the earlier mentioned products that does the whole job perfectly!

Be Gone, Balm

I can't comment on the packaging as I'd asked my local Farmers store for a sample of this product (by taking in my own sample pot) as I didn't want to commit to the fairly large tub without knowing how my skin was going to react or how well it was going to work. The balm is a pale yellow colour with a firm, almost coconut oil consistency that softens and "melts" with body heat from your fingers and skin.

I really did want to love this product as there is so much hype around it but, unfortunately, Trilogy Be Gone Cleansing Balm just didn't do it for me. The balm needs to be applied to dry skin and I had to massage quite firmly to spread and smear the balm and my make-up all over my face in order for the balm to "melt" my make-up off before wiping it off with a warm cloth. The balm also left me with a greyish-black panda-eye effect around my eyes, especially if I'd used a long-lasting gel eyeliner pencil and this didn't come off when wiping the balm off with the warm cloth. I had to use micellar water to remove it.

I don't like the way the balm felt on my eyes and eyelashes and it left me with blurry vision after use. It also didn't really leave my skin feeling clean, it felt like there was still some kind of 'dirty', oily make-up residue on my skin and I felt the need to cleanse with a foaming cleanser afterwards.

The packaging says to use a quarter of a teaspoon of balm but that amount just wasn't enough to remove a full face of make-up. I ended up using between half a teaspoon and a full teaspoon, depending on whether I was wearing long-lasting eyeliner or not.

I'm really glad that I didn't spend my money on a full sized tub, only to be horribly disappointed. I won't be recommending or purchasing this product. I'd rather use Lipidol's Cleansing Oil, it's more affordable, much easier to use and it emulsifies with water, so it simply rinses away. No oily residue and no wash cloth needed.

Tips: Take your own sample tub (these can be bough from Dollar Stores) and ask for a sample before you buy a full sized tub.

Trilogy Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm

I cannot lie, I actually didn't think much of this product until I had to remove heavy makeup after midnight. Since then, this is a staple product in my skincare collection!

I had used this just to remove everyday makeup and it definitely did the job - it just didn't stand out from any other cleanser for me. That is until I was a bridesmaid and was wearing individual false lashes. After midnight trying to remove those little devils was a nightmare, until I remembered I had for some strange reason packed this gem! Rubbing this all over my eye makeup saw all of the false lashes gently fall off without irritating my real lashes or eyes in anyway. I couldn't believe it!

This product does have a weird oily feeling which is why I initially wasn't a huge fan. That is until I saw how gently oily feeling melted away even the heaviest of makeup! And in all fairness, it actually helps to keep my skin feeling hydrated which is often the issue I have with cleansers. Rinsing a few times or even using a hot face cloth seemed to remove most of this oiliness if it annoyed me. Most importantly, it does not irritate my sensitive skin!

This product doesn't have a strong scent and I love the simplicity of the packaging. It is the perfect size to still be able to throw into an overnight back when travelling. But would I buy this again? If it was on sale definitely! But seeing as there are a few makeup balms coming out for cheaper I would probably try them first to see if they do the same job.

Tips: Great for removing individual false lashes easily!

Rinse or use a hot face cloth a few times to remove the oily feeling if you don't like it!

Love it

I received this in the latest BB and immediately thought hmmmm smells good but will it work? Yes it did! From the smooth texture once it's warmed in your palms to smearing it all over your face and neck, massaging it in the make did literally melt and was really easy to remove. Even my waterproof mascara and gel eyeliner came off with ease. The cloth that came with the cleanser, nice but I found it really hard to get it clean, even with using a soaking agent, oxygenated bleach, still traces of makeup. After using the cleanser my skin felt soft and smelt amazing, no breakouts either, I don't think I'll use my makeup wipes again! Thanks BR for an awesome BB!

Tips: Since getting the make up off the cloth was difficult I used a normal facecloth it was much easier to clean!

Awesome product

I received this in the BRBB and was so excited to try it. The packaging is very typical of Trilogy, very pretty and earthy looking. the actual product is solid, and has a nice natural smell, not too overpowering, which I like. It says on the actual container to use 1/4 tsp but I use a good finger full (probably a heap teaspoon). I found this worked better and took my make up off easier than using a 1/4 tsp. warmed the product between my hands and massaged into my skin focusing on my eyes, because i use waterproof mascara. I always do this just before my shower. Then in the shower, I wipe the product off with either the cloth that was provided or one of my own face clothes. This product took every bit of make up off my face and i didn't even have to go in after with a toner to get any residue off (normally i have to do this, maybe i need a better facewash). I absolutely love this product. My skin is super hydrated afterwards. the only off putting thing for me is the price. If the product came in a bigger container (for the same price), I would definitely be buying this as my only make up remover, but for now, this will be a treat only product. Other than that, it was an amazing product for me.

Tips: You can use any face cloth to get this product off - i found the face cloth it came with wasn't that great, and my makeup stained it a bit (even after being washed straight away).

Mmmmm so devine

I was suoer excited to try this product when I got it out of my BRBB. I have never tried any of the Trilogy products so wondered if they were really as good as everyone says they are.

This sure was! The packaging is super gorgeous and luxurious. I like the container it comes in. Feels sturdy and able to with stand a few knocks in my beauty bag.

I was surprised at how hard it was very similar to coconut oil thats hardened. I scopped a small amount out into my fingers and rubbed all over my face. It melted away in my fingertips and it melted away my makeup too. I was a little nervous going near my eye makeup especially my eye liner but no need for the nerves it worked its magic and no sore eyes either.

I loved that Trilogy supplid a beautiful organic cotton cloth to wipe off the product. I use it in the shower and it all works just perfectly!

Tips: A teaspoon or little scoop to get the product out of the jar is a must. No transfering of germs or broken/dirty nails to get the product out.
