A little waxy

Simple packaging a plain squeezable tube with a flip top lid, this product is quite thick and the wee beads off walnut are actually quite big and brown, this is light greyish in colour and has a lemon scent, it smells clean. This doesn't foam and is nice and easy to rub around my face and takes a wee bit to rinse it all off as the beads tend to stick to my skin and I did find it did feel like it left a waxy residue, it's more like a cleansing cream with beads and it does feel very moisturising while I'm using it. I just find that the beads do scrub my face but I don't the whole effect of exfoliation for my skin it's more like a skin massage than my dead skin being removed. I must admit my skin does feel clean when I've used this but after around five minutes my face does feel tight. My skin looked quite red using this and I did rub it around so gently. For me I don't think I won't purchase this again a shame as its a reasonable price.

Not too impressed

The one pro of this product for me is that as a cream based product, it was quite moisturising, but it was also quite thick and gluggy which may be why I didn't actually feel like any exfoliation was happening. The exfoliation agents themselves were quite large but I mostly didn't feel it exfoliating anything away unless I got quite rough which was never necessary with any other exfoliators I've tried. Will finish off the tube in the shower on my body (I don't recommend for face), but I will not be repurchasing the item.

Just ok

I was so excited to try this brand as I had bought a couple of products as a gift for my friend who loved it. It sounded good, packed full of lovely natural ingredients but it just didn't really do it for me. It's reasonably priced and easy to find at the supermarket but I wouldn't buy it again. It left my skin feeling more or less like it did before, maybe a bit cleaner but I like a grunty exfoliator that leaves my skin feeling polished. I can't say I noticed an improvement in my skin either. I did enjoy the scent though, it wasn't too strong. I used it alongside the Skinfood mud masque and unfortunately the results were much the same. Average.

Not what I like from an exfoliator

I received this exfoliator in a Goodie Box and was excited to try as I had seen the Skinfood brand around before and liked the idea that Skinfood is New Zealand made.

I like my exfoliator to have a decent amount of grit to is as I have blemishes and large pores that are easily clogged so like to exfoliate a few times a week with a good exfoliator. When I first tried this one I found it very creamy with a little bit of grit. It went on to my skin nicely but I couldn't help but feel it was more like a moisturiser with a bit of grit. As I have oily skin I just found it didn't go well with my skin.

For the price point it's an ok scrub

This is a cream like scrub with walnut shell particles to exfoliate your skin. The packaging is plain but attractive, the scent is nice and fresh. The walnut shell particles are a bit big and scratchy for my liking though. I worry that the large particles could easily damage my skin causing long term damage. I find the formula quite rich and non drying, so would suit normal to dry skin types more so than oily skin. The price is very good for the size of the product.

I don't think there is anything really wrong with this exfoliant and it may be suitable for some people but it's just not suitable for me. I prefer something less abrasive that gives better exfoliation results. I'm currently using up the rest of the product when I do at home pedicures.

It works

This is a good face cleanser but in all honesty if I used it more than twice a week, my skin would go very dry but it did the exfoliating part at least and always felt smooth afterwards. I just always had to put moisturizer on my face a few times a day because of the dryness it left on my face afterwards. Probably not a product that I'd buy again but good for people who dont have sensitive skin.

Skinfood Exfoliating Scrub

I got this product in a goodiebox and have been using it these past weeks. I honestly wouldn't buy it again, because it doesn't really do much for me. I wish the smell was a bit more pleasant and didn't smell like something my grandma would use. There wasn't much beads for how much of the product you usually use. I get pretty oily skin, and it basically isn't the right product for me.

I'd recommend it for people with more dryer skin, as it makes your skin more softer.

Skinfood Rough Exfoliating Scrub

I needed a new scrub and saw this on sale. Having liked the mud masque from this range I thought I'd give this a go. The scent is a citrus sort of scent probably due to the orange and lime oil. I do like that this has natural ingredients like sweet almond oil, aloe vera, manuka honey, cucumber and rosemary extract, tea tree oil and sunflower seed oil. It didn't dry out my skin either. And it's quite affordable. No plastic beads in it which makes it good for those going green. The thing that ruins this for me though is that it's pretty rough, the walnut shell feels really scratchy on my skin. I guess this is good if you want a really good scrubby scrub as it's quite affordable but personally I would prefer something much more gentle as this left micro tears in my skin and left it feeling slightly irritated and sensitized. I think I'll re purpose this as a hand scrub. It was on sale so not a huge loss.

Tips: If you like a really good scrubby scrub with natural ingredients and no plastic beads this is a good one for you. But I wouldn't recommend this for those with sensitive or more mature skin. If you have purchased this and found it too rough it does make a nice hand scrub.
