I hate oils, but not this one!

As seems to be usual with me when I was at the supermarket last I seemed to have another product magically fall into my trolley. I had read Trudijoys reviews on the pack and I was after a new night cream so this seemed like the perfect choice. So home with me came the Essano Treat Your Skin Pack Rosehip! It was on special for $17.50 and seemed like a perfect way for me to try some products as I don't like spending lots of money straight away as my skin can sometimes be quite picky, and I love trying out new things to review on here as well. Because of using the pack I can't comment on the packaging as it is a little different for the smaller sizes. For background I have dry sometimes sensitive skin with a few blemishes.

I'm not usually a big fan of oils but as it was in the pack I thought I would give it a go too. It came in a usual oil packaging with the wee pipette, why change something that works. The oil itself is a light yellow, and looks like olive oil to me. It smells like olive oil too, but only in a very light way, it doesn't make me feel like my face is about to cook some chips. I really like the texture of this oil it feels like a dry oil almost, not greasy in the slightest. Although in saying that you do only need a few drops! The first time I used this I used half a pipette and although it didn't make my skin feel greasy it didn't sink in nearly as nicely as you would want it to. Rosehip oil is meant to be great for fine lines, scars, stretch marks, and sun damage. While I can't speak for the results of fixing those things it did feel really nice on my skin and I will definitely be using it up (which I can't say for my last oil that went in the bin).

I'm very impressed with the Essano brand! And this will definitely be my oil of choice once I run out of every other serum etc that I am trying.

It sounds great Kirsty. I have some and can't wait to start using it - I'm using up some old stuff first. I find other oils I use need to be used sparingly so thanks for the tip that does too - I will heed your advice. Cheers x

Oils of the Gods!!!

This gorgeous oil comes in a dropper bottle with the same branding as the other Essano products. It is a beautiful blend of Rosehip and Acacia Berry Oils.

It is a pale yellow oil that goes clear on the skin. It is soft and lovely with a gentle fragrance similar to the other products in the range.

The recommendation is to use it after cleaning twice per day, but I’ve applying it after the moisturiser has absorbed, and it leaves my skin with slight glow and feeling soft and silky. I am a big fan of oils anyway, but this one is particularly lovely.

It claims to feed healthy, radiant skin and reverse the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone and dull and lifeless skin. I’m not sure about reducing fine lines just yet, but my skin is definitely not dull or lifeless after using it.

At around $23.00 it is good value for a 20ml bottle of oil, and you can use it quite sparingly. I notice it is also available in a larger 45 ml bottle. Countdown have the 20ml bottle on special for $17 this week (until the end of may 2015 I think)!!!

I most certainly will continue to buy this product and other products in the range, and recommend them to others to buy.

Tips: Tip: use the whole range of products (cleanser, moisturiser, oil, and night cream) together for a great result. I am a definite convert to Rosehip and Essano products, not only because the products are great, but because they are easy to purchase at Countdown, and a reasonable price 

Not so great

Well I couldn’t make it past the smell of this product. I don’t know what it is that is in it that make it smell but it reminds me of a burned match stick. In fact so much so I mixed in some essential oils to ameliorate the smell.

Now anyone that knows me knows I’m not a fan of strong scents but really this was a surprise. I opened it a couple of months ago and the first time I used it I thought it was odd. Then I went to use it more recently and it reminded me of the same thing so I don’t think it’s an issue with the freshness of the product. I just don’t like the smell, so it’s a subjective thing.

I use it on my hands and arms at night now and it does do the job but I don’t find it as moisturising as say the Plantae Rosehip Fruit and Seed Serum that I use on my face at night as a skin treatment. I was hoping to use the Essano for that purpose when I brought it but to me it doesn’t cut the grain. Other people love it though - and that’s a good thing!

Tips: If you don't like the scent a few drops of other essential oils in the mix works well. I used Lavender, Ylang Ylang and Rose Geranium and that's a nice combination.

I was reading up on it yesterday funny enough. Apparently to some people Rosehip Oil smells of fish. There's a lot of people that don't like it. One added bonus of adding the essential oils is it would make a good bath oil now I think too :)

That's such a great idea, adding your own scent to it! I also find the smell repulsive lol. I'm yet to find a Rosehip oil that doesn't have that signature scent though so I think I need to look into adding my own essential oil.

One of my preferred products

I like this Rosehip oil, it is easy to purchase and has a good price point at the supermarket. I use it after derma-rolling, and in my opinion it helps to heal my old acne scars and reduce the redness of the derma-rolling.

Liquid Gold!

I have been using Essano rosehip oil for the last few weeks and I am loving the results. My main reason for looking at an oil was I had extremely dry and uneven tone on my neck. I have been using a few drops of essano rosehip at night, massaged into my neck and decollatge and I have to say I have noticed a huge difference. Love this stuff.

Tips: I also use a small amount around my eyes area to help hydrate my undereyes.

Essano Rosehip Oil.

I love this. I use it everyday after showering to save my poor dry skin. It's not super oily which I love and why I can use it everyday. I use this under my moisturiser. I like how this is good for my dry skin however I haven't noticed too much difference with combatting redness. I think it did help a little when I was battling a bit of rosacea when I first started using this but I can't tell for sure. This is definitely a staple of my everyday skincare.

Great oil for the price

I received a mini bottle of this in one of Essano's gift packs - these are a really great range to try out some of the products within the different ranges. This is as good as any other, more expensive, rosehip oils I have tried.] You can either use it by itself (which I find is enough to use at night in the summertime) or mix it into your moisturiser to give it a boost. I tend to use it at night so it has plenty of time to sink in. It leaves me with plump, glowing skin the next day. I love that this is so easy to pick up in the supermarket and is often on special offer too.

Love this and so affordable

I forgot how much my skin likes rosehip oil, as I ventured to try other types for my skin, but years ago I started with pure rosehip oil and it started a whole new era in my skin care regime. Just got this oil in my bellabox about 10 days ago and I’m so happy I did, rosehip oil is still the king of oils for most types of skin and this one has Acai berry and antioxidants as well, so like rosehip oil upgraded. It makes my skin so soft and plump and reduces redness when I have a pimple out or about to come out, it’s really great. I always use my oil as the last step in my routine and only at night times, I always wake up with great skin and I like changing between different types of oil, however be careful with rosehip oil, or most types of oil really as they go rancid fast(6-12months after opening) since they don’t contain preservatives, so just keep that in mind.

Essano rosehip oil

I loved using this oil all over my skin when i was pregnant. Definitely helped with avoiding stretch marks. Feels great on skin, and gives a warming sensation.

Tips: Use underneath moisturiser If you struggle with dry skin. Really nourishes skin, and absorbs quickly.

Best value rosehip oil

I've been devoted to Trilogy rosehip oil since early 2000s. And then the pandemic hit, and online shopping suddenly became a hassle as deliveries took too long. Essano rosehip oil is available from the supermarket, and it's half the price, oh and NZ made too, so why not! My skin can't tell the difference, so I've been using this ever since.

This oil is the last step in my skincare routine every night, to seal in all the goodness from my moisturizer and serums underneath. I put this on my face, neck and chest, and recently also on the backs of my hands.

I am in my late 30s and have no wrinkles. Rosehip oil may be a contributor as it naturally has high levels of vitamin A (I don't use retinol as it irritates my sensitive skin), but it also may be due to genetics/lifestyle and other products I use religiously, including serums, moisturiser and sunscreen.

Tips: Store away from sunlight and use it within a couple of months before it goes rancid.

Good to know this. I'm currently using trilogy oil. It's expensive & not sure I'm liking it on my skin. My face isn't keen feels itchy. Reason I'm looking at reviews is because Rachel Hunter, NZ Model & Actress endorses this Essano oil
