Skinfood Exfoliating Scrub Review

I recieved this in my March Beauty Box, I dont usually buy scrubs like this for my face as it tends to make me get more pimples, but this one surprised me, i used it every second day and it left my skin feeling soft and fresh, and as a bonus it smells delicious! loved it

I was attracted to this exfoliator when my skin was going through a particularly rough stage (excuse the pun). I chose this one because of the impressive feedback on this brand based on their masque. So I had high expectations for this product, I based on their other products and the brand in general. The Verdict: I would liken this scrub to the St. Ives apricot scrub as it has a similar scent and look. I think this scrub has the perfect amount of exfoliant, its not too harsh but it does what is says it will (exfoliates skin). I love the fact all the ingredients are natural and that it's New Zealand made, that just makes me feel much better about using this on my skin! I would definitely pick this over the St. Ives exfoliant as not only is the product NZ made and of natural ingredients, the packaging is much better - the St. Ives one used to split on the sides!

I got this in my beauty box and wow!! This exfoliating scrub smells absolutely Devine. I've never really done much exfoliating but after using this one I am completely sold and have found a new obsession. It leaves me feeling so clean and my skin has never felt so good. I am in love and will be buying more when I run out! I thought it looked like quite a small tube but I've been using it most nights all over my body and its lasting really well.

I received this scrub in I think a goodie box last year and have been using it for the last 2 months. The packaging is super simple, it's nothing that jumps out at me but being a unisex product, i think it has mass appeal.

I'm a really big fan of sweet almond scent so i was really looking forward to using this. Unfortunately, i was left disappointed as it does not smell like that at all, rather a very plant like natural scent. I really didn't like it at first, but I've gotten used to the scent now an i guess it's OK but still not totally appealing.

before this I'd been using the St Ives apricot scrub which gives a really good scrub. This is quite different. It's a very creamy product and not as densely packed with 'grit'. I do find I need to use a decent amount of product to get enough to do my face and my neck.

I think it Does an alright job at scrubbing but I do prefer a more gritty scrub. I use this every second day in the morning after cleansing. I'm not sure if it's just because the cleanser I am using is so drying but this scrub actually seems to hydrate my skin. I don't get a tight feeling after using this.

I think it's alright value for money, I'm just over half way done with this so 4 months is good but in saying that my St Ives scrub lasted me a year.

I'm not sure if I would purchase this product, I would use it if it was given to me or in a sub box but I can't help comparing it to The St Ives scrub and this just falls short for me.

I use this Exfoliater daily! and love everything about it! The texture is great, it really feels like it gets in there and scrubs your skin - without being too harsh. I also love that it uses natural ingredients, and I even have my partner using this now too!

it is really abrasive so not so good for people with sensitive skin, does the job, leaving face very nice and smooth, flakey free!

Skinfood exfoliating scrub

This is amazing!!!!! I got this in my BR box and was excited to try it as Skinfood is an affordable kiwi brand - I like to try and support Nz brands where I can.

This comes in a matte tube that has a flip up lid. The product squeezes out easily and doesn't explode all over your hands. The slight resistance in the tube makes it easy to control how much product you disperse. In terms of the packaging, the design is straightforward and simple but not boring.

The product itself is creamy and has grains which definitely remove the dry, dead skin from your face to reveal new, fresh skin. I like my exfoliators a little on the coarse side and this is perfect for my preferences. If you have super sensitive skin you may find this a little rough but I love it.

After using this my skin feels baby bum soft. It does dry my skin out a tad (I have dry skin btw), but I combat this by making sure I rehydrate it with mousturiser.

Overall I was super surprised to love this and am definitely going to repurchase it. The price is awesome for the product and I would happily pay double.

I received this in my beauty box and as I am going through a experimenting with new exfoliating scrubs I was very excited. The packaging is quite plain and simple and as I am sucked in by bright and colourful this may get overlooked on the shelf. The tube is small but great that it has a flat flip top lid for easy use. When I first squirted the product out my first thought was ergh! The colour and look was not the greatest. It has a very faint smell which I was disappointed with as I like a nice scent in my shower products. But once I started using it I could overlook the colour and lack of smell as it felt great going on. This product has just the right amount of graininess. It's course enough to feel like it's really cleansing but is not to rough to irritate my sensitive skin which was great. A little goes a long way which is also a bonus as the tube is not that big. Overall I quite liked this scrub and even though I'd like to see it a more appealing colour and with more scent I think I would buy it again. The fact that it is NZ made is a big bonus as well

I recently received this in the Beauty Review beauty box and was a lil unsure of how I would like it due to almond in it. But I absolutely love it! The smell is amazing and the scrub is actually gritty!! I Prefer gritty in scrubs and get frustrated when you buy a product thinking yay its a exfoliator and its got the tiny lil beads that do nothing on ya face. Tho I have used Skinfood products before I find the packaging quite plain so its easily missed on the shelf when buying a new product! The fact that's its a natural product and hasn't got the added junk in it, I definitely will be purchasing again when I run out

A tube with a flip top lid for dispensing and storage as it sits flat on the lid. The tube is white with the iconic Skinfood logo of three teardrops in 3 Shades of lime green each in 3 different sizes, silouting each other. Black and lime green writing on front with a brief description and @ back with ingredients & some brief instructions. New Zealand brand and made, animal cruelty free and natural. Although ingredients are totally not organic & are synthetic. Including fragrances. Has lime,manuka honey,orange blossom,walnut shells,aloe vera&cucumber; extracts. To my knowledge the walnut would be the exfoliant, manuka honey an antiseptic&soother;,lime for refreshing purposes and orange blossom would also complement each ingredient,Aloe Vera again has healing properties aswell as a soothing agent. The consistency of the contents is a naturally gritty feeling texture. Which isn't horrible and since it's gritty is primarily that of walnut shells, this doesn't scratch the scratch and I believe that the other ingredients would counteract any reaction from the exfoliation process. It makes sense and it doesn't hurt or cause me to react. The fragrance is slight not overpowering which is a good sign of not being heavily perfumed. After the first use there is an instant result of cleansed skin. (As I hadn't used an exfoliant in some months). It appeared to have remove the top layer of old dirty skin. (The truth) I also did my neck & décolletage , the result of this was amazing as some creases were appearing around my lower décolletage area and the creases did disappear, (HAPPY AS TO SEE THIS), which proved to me this creasing/wrinkling effect was just a build up of dirt & tanned skin. As a result a clear glowing skin, without any reaction. So I suggest extending the area for the scrub as I have sensitive skin and to have no side effects from doing so, if proof of how gentle yet effective it is. I did give my 11 year old son a treatment to try prevent any breakouts as I noticed his skin was built up. This did cause a break out on his skin, we did follow up with a toner and moisteriser but not from this range and that could've been the reason for breakout or it just could've been that the skin needed to detoxify. The breakout only lasted 24 hours so not bad.

All in all a more affordable and gentle but affective product, which I will continue to use. Aswell as being NZ made I am trying to support homegrown as much as possible, which is another factor to continue with repurchase. I also am going to look into the rest of the brand I went into their Web store and they've got a good range of product with special packs but can't see any toners in their brand.
