I have trialed the 'Very Gentle Restoring Oil' over the past three weeks. I have dry, sensitive, acne prone skin with a small amount of redness on my cheeks and nose. The packaging of this product is in a white cardboard box which is recyclable, with a light apricot/pink colour on the top of the box. It states on the box 'Sensitive' and lists the active ingredients 'maqui berry, apricot and sea buckthorn.' I really like how on the box it shows that the product is certified by BioGro as an organic cosmetic, that is really important to backup that big statement.
The product comes in a 30ml amber glass bottle with a dropper to dispense the oil from. The oil is thin and slippery it has no fragrance to it which I find unpleasant from other facial oils. I like the use of the dropper for the oil as it means you can control how much oil you need. I use 3-4 drops (a little bit goes a long way with oils) each night on my face, neck and decolletage. I find I have to gently massage it into my skin and it absorbs within 10 or so minutes, because I have dehydrated dry skin, this works very well for me and I like the feeling I am left with soft and feeling moisturised. It soothes and hydrates all my dry patches of skin leaving it feeling soft.
I liked to use this after I had cleansed my skin and after I had applied the 'Very Gentle Calming Serum' I think this works well in the evening for my skin personally as it keeps it hydrated all night long, so I wake up with supple and soft skin.
The price point, $43.99 for 30ml, for a standard bottle of rosehip oil it is around the $26-35 mark, so it is definitely a bit more expensive if you compare it with that. Although I do feel this oil suits my skin better, as it is more thin and not so greasy and heavy like some other oils can be on my skin, which make my skin more prone to acne break outs. So I would purchase again but would wait until it was on special at a Farmers store or Trilogy's online website.
I would suggest this to anyone who feels other rosehip blended oils are too heavy for their skin, girls with sensitive and/or acne prone skin as the ingredients are specially tailored or as an evening nourishing face oil for those drier skinned people.
I was selected to trial this Trilogy Restoring Oil as part of the sensitive skincare range. I have been hesitant about long term use of oils in the past as the can make my skin feel greasy.
The oil comes in a 30ml glass bottle and the rubber lid contains a dropper which makes it easy to dispense the right amount out. I noticed that the oil is the only product in the range that doesn’t contain the SyriCalm complex. Instead it has sea buckthorn and apricot oil which has anti-inflammatory and skin-conditioning properties.
To use I simple put two drops onto my finger tips and gently massage it around my entire face. I have been using this at night before going to bed, I then put my Trilogy moisturiser on top. It’s surprisingly non-greasy and lightweight for an oil. It has a very natural pleasant scent. Once it has absorbed into my skin I can still use a moisturiser afterwards without making my skin an oily mess.
This oil has been the prefect solution for my skin’s needs and has given me the confidents to reuse oil as part of my nightly skincare regime. The main benefit I believe I have been seeing from using this oil is how much stronger my skin appears on my cheeks. It appears to repairing and strengthening the blood capillaries as my cheeks don’t appear as red. I also wake up with lovely radiant glow the next day.
