Garnier BB Cream - Anti Aging Medium

I really enjoyed using this BB cream overall. The texture was nice and creamy and it gave my skin good coverage without being too heavy like a foundation. I found the colour a teeny bit darker than what I'd normally use but in saying that it lasted pretty much all day so no need to reapply at work ( happy place!).

Tips: A couple of little dabs of BB cream over age spots and blemishes after you've applied your makeup and hey presto! it's a concealer :)

Garnier miracle skin perfector bb anti ageing crea

My skin is fair, and usually dry. Product was of a good consistency, not too thick. Was easy to put on. No real fragrance noted. Covered face very well. Lasted all day. Price seems adequate. Packaging was fine. Results: it reacted with my skin. Day 1ok, day 2 ok however by evening face starting to itch. Day 3, itchy face all over, skin not smooth, had slightly raised lumpy surface. Would only recommend if persons skin was not sensitive. Was not aware this product would affect me. Only previously allergic to Elizabeth Arden.

Tips: More advice for sensitive skin, or make a suitably product.

A bit of a failure

I had such high hopes for this product, it looked like the ultimate budget beauty-and-care-in-one product. It really missed the mark for me. I used the 'light' shade and applied it over my usual skincare products and the Australis primer I have used for months. It came out of the tube very creamy and blended in well with a round top kabuki. The coverage was really disappointing though, even for a BB cream. I put on two layers and still felt my sheer foundations give better coverage in one layer. My skin got that oxidised orange-y colour after a bit of wear too - not happy. I have oily skin so of course even on top of a primer I got a bit of shine with this BB by late morning, but I am fine with that, not a big deal. I was not a fan of the fragrance either, it was much too strong and a bit irritating. I don't think I can manage to use it long enough to see any long term benefits from the pro-xylane. I would not recommend this - I think investing in good anti-aging skincare and using a regular BB cream is more up my alley!

Tips: Best used as an added ageing treatment/step after primer and before foundation or powders, or if you really are not after much coverage.

Not liking it

I was confused by this product. It doesn't really know what it is so fails on all accounts. It was thick. And left me feeling greasy all day. Not to mention I'm fair skinned and the 'fair' made me look orange. Didn't really like it at all....very disappointing.

Sheer, dewy tint

I had never used a BB cream before trying out Garnier BB Cream Anti- Ageing for the first time. The cream is a lovely medium consistency with a slight rose/floral fragrance. I would probably class my skin as a mix of sensitive/combination, with a light beige colour in winter, slightly tan in Summer. So the cream I used was the light colour type, which I found to be a little darker than my current tone. I first applied the product over top of my already moisturised skin (as I received the product in the afternoon and slapped it on straight away). It glided on easily and had a sheer, dewy finish. I still needed to use a concealer to cover a little redness on my cheeks, and powder to set the finish. A few hours later I had quite a shiny face, so I guess I had an overload of moisture. Then I decided to try using straight after washing instead of a moisturiser. I applied all over my face and the BB cream absorbed into my skin straight away. I needed to apply a second coat for extra coverage, as it was very sheer. Later on in the day I have a shiny t-zone but my cheeks and forehead are fine. I would probably use this product during the Summer months as a tinted moisturiser, as I do need a thicker coverage to conceal imperfections and even out my skin tone during the rest of the year. This product does add a lovely glow but does not cover redness as it says on the box. It is also quite dewy and moisturising, so would suit a drier skin type, but I was able to blot excess moisture with a tissue and use a powder over top which gave a more polished finish.

Garnier miracle skin perfector BB Cream

This BB cream has its highs and lows; it's affordable but has minimal coverage. It's great it use as a base foundation if using a powder. I use a mineral powder & it works well with that. It's applies easily and feels nice on the skin but it doesn't last all day. Didn't notice a difference in glow of my skin but does cover well.

Tips: Use as a base with powder.

Best BB cream I've used

I have loved the idea of a BB cream since I first heard of them. I have tried a couple of different brands and although I liked the coverage I didn't like the greasiness they left behind, on my face and on my fingers. Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream has none of that greasiness. The coverage was excellent and non greasy, and the shade is perfect for my skin tone. I will be buying it again.

Tips: great coverage don't need to use too much.

Not something I would use again

I am in my late 20's and starting to use anti aging products, so was really keen to give this a try. At the moment, I have combination skin and am starting to notice those fine lines appearing.

I found this is a really unwearable and unnatural colour on me. I have used other Garnier BB creams and the medium shade has been fine for me in the past, however, this one was VERY orange toned and really didn't look great on my skin, it gave me quite a muddy look. The consistency of the product itself is nice, it is quite a thick, creamy texture. I tried applying this two ways; with a brush and with my fingers. I found applying with a brush made the product look streaky and it sort of moved around on my face and didn't give much coverage. This worked much better when applied with my fingers, it gave an even coverage and the warmth from my hands/fingers helped it to spread and apply nicely. I also tend to finish off with patting motions when applying BB creams to avoid any 'wipe' marks.

This is definitely not a full coverage product - I would say light to medium if you built it up (and for me I would tend not to, as the more it is built up the darker and more orangey it looked on me).

I tried wearing this a couple of ways. The first was alone; this did not last very long, moved around on my face, wiped off if you touched it and looked very very oily. The second was to wear it with some translucent pressed powder on top. This definitely helped to tone down the orange tone a smidge and helped the product to last longer. The third way I tried this was as a primer before using foundation. Out of all three, this is the method I prefer with this product as I can use a foundation that is slightly too light for me and it helps to counteract the darkness & orange in the BB cream.

The packaging of the product is fine, nothing spectacular, but it does the job. The tube is easy to squeeze and get product out of, but I found the BB cream did tend to sort of clump in the opening so you would end up with one of those weird little hard unusable bits of product would come out first sometimes.

I personally did not notice any noticeable improvement in skin firmness and I found this BB cream made my skin feel a bit dirty because it felt and looked so oily. I have also noticed some breakouts since using this - which I can't confirm or deny is from using this product.

This isn't something I personally would repurchase or recommend based on my experience.

Tips: Try using a small amount of this as a primer before foundation. I found it worked better for this purpose.

Not quite for me

I'm a 50 yr old that has combination skin and still gets breakouts which is a pain. The first time I used it, I noticed that it had a lovely floral smell and came out of the tube easily without being runny. I noticed that I had probably chosen the wrong colour as I got the medium and it was quite dark. I chose medium as I have found the light ones too light for my skin. After saying this, it would be great in summertime. A little went a long long way with this one. On the first day I moisturised first and then applied the BB cream and found it quite greasy and made what few wrinkles I had appear deeper (which I didn't like the thought of!) and the slight shadows under my eyes appeared darker. My skin got more dewy/greasier looking by each hour which I didn't like too much. By the end of the night I had little pimples on my face like I have never had before.

The next day I didn't use a moisturiser at all and just used the cream. I seemed to last a lot longer on my face this time before getting the too dewy/greasy look to it.

Even though it worked better on an unmoisturised skin, I personally prefer to use my moisturiser before using any type of foundation. I did have to add a concealer for any spots I had and they seemed to be enhanced otherwise.

I didn't notice any firming over the time but think the product 'reflected' light away from the wrinkles deep pores.

Do watch as it does transfer very easily onto clothes etc.

I don't think I would use this product again due to the 'too much shine' look after an hour or so and have also used other BB creams that seem to suit me better.

Tips: Do not moisturise before using it. Apply a concealer on trouble areas before using the BB cream.

Breaking out!

I have combination skin and mainly get pimples in my t-zone. I usually use another BB Cream but have been looking for another one to try out and this was the perfect opportunity. I am only 20 so the anti-ageing cream may seem like an odd choice however you are never to young to start fighting those wrinkles!

The Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream Anti Ageing has a thick, mousse consistency, almost like when you beat butter and sugar together (without the grittiness). I didn't notice a smell when I was using it, it just smells like your standard tinted moisturiser. I applied this product with my hands and it gave a sheer matte finish which I really liked.

I would guess that the product would last a few months for those like me who only apply a small amount but obviously less if you go any larger than a 10 cent coin. I went into my local supermarket and checked out the price- it was $17.99 which is way more than I would want to pay for supermarket/drug store make up (my current bb cream is $12.99 for 100ml). The packaging was inoffensive but nothing impressive. The small opening made sure I didn't remove more product from the packaging than necessary.

The trial wasn't long enough to fully test out the BB cream but I also stopped using it because my skin started to breakout. However, in the small period of time I was using it my skin has felt noticeable smoother and firmer on my cheeks and nose but my forehead, eyelids (weird I know) and chin are much oilier than usual. I do love that fact that it has an SPF in it without giving my skin that glossy "I've just applied sunscree" look.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with combination or oily skin, nor anyone with acne scarring as it doesn't provide a decent enough coverage. I will be sticking to my current BB cream, sorry Garnier but you haven't convinced me!

Tips: Apply your concealer before using the BB cream. Carry it in your purse for any touch ups during the day as it has the tendency to come off!
