Antipodes

A good NZ brand this bottle comes in a tincture form with a born bottle nicely labelled with a tincture dropper. The golden serum sits inside the bottle giving you a good impression of liquid goodness.

Upon opening there is a distinct scent only what I have smelt with this brand & it's serum, to me it's an organic scent that similar to wheatgerm oil if ever you've smelt wheat germ oil then that's what this smells like to me. It disperses as good as it could from the dropper, the serums colour is nice transparent but gold tinged liquid which goes onto the skin yellowish gold but eventually smooths out to be clear leaving a hydrated appearance with a sheen like a highlight to the skin it takes its time to settle into the skin.

I want to say how great this product however this item didn't work well for me & I was sad to have discovered during my use that it was a no go for me. Firstly the distinct scent I was not a fan of then secondly my skin didn't absorb this product up instead it sat on my skins surface slick & oily & third & final thing was it broke me out. Not oce but every time after use I would awake in the am with a new breakout. Either this item had an ingredirect that my skin 1 needed or 2 reacted to because eof it's richness. Sorry Antipodes I want to love you but I can't. My skin type is combo to oily I'm also 39 years old which I should sit under the aure skin category however I have slight signs of aging but nothing too bad as said to me by a dermatologist & beautician phewww. Just for indication as to why my review is how it is.

Truly divine!

The smell!! First of all when I chose skincare/body care products I am a huge sucker for a gorgeous smell. This oil smells like jasmine which I think is beautiful and quite uplifting. It applies really nicely, it's not greasy even though its an oil but a little does go a long way so don't over do it or it will feel oily on your skin rather than just hydrating. Depending on how thirsty your skin in it soaks in fairly quickly (Not instantly but in a good space of time). The best part is waking up with soft, smooth and hydrated skin! I personally used this as part of my night time skin care routine and absolutely loved it. One of those items that will be permanently on my repurchase list.

Tips: A little goes a long way :)

divine alternative to straight up rosehip

I got this wee bottle of gloriousness in last years Beautiful Christmas advent calendar, and it's still going strong (probably because I have other oils as well to be fair) - I know Mum adored it as well and has gotten through hers!

The Antipodes Avocado & Rosehip Divine Face Oil comes in the brand-typical brown glass packaging, with a green and cream label. It looks like what it is - natural, quality, and not cheap (although not super expensive, but it's up there). I have a 10ml bottle of this oil, which is dispensed through a 'dropper' housed in the screw cap.

This smells gorgeous. It's a little softer and nuttier than straight rosehip, with a lovely silky feel to the oil. my fave way to use this is on scars and scratches, where it softens skin and aids in healing. I'm pretty sure Mum used hers on her face - oil doesn't love my face though so I tend not to cover my face in it.

If you're looking for an alternative to straight rosehip oil from a quality Kiwi company then you'll love this!

Tips: you can get this smaller size bottle in a pack with a vanilla day cream in Farmers and Life Pharmacy (among others maybe?) right now for around $25 - that's a good buy!

Beautiful and Silky for Improved Complexion

I have seen this brand around for quite a while and listened to people talk about how much they like this brand. Due to sensitive skin I'm always a bit sceptical to try new brands for fear of reaction, but I got a sample from Beautiful Christmas I think it was. So no excuse really not to give it a try right.

So glad I did. I got the wee trial version, think it was about 10ml if I remember rightly. And I loved the fact I could take this with me anywhere, even the bigger bottle is a nice size.

I love the fact that it has a dropper with it making it user friendly and lets the user use as much as they need to.

The colour is beautiful, a really nice golden colour and the smell was kind of like you would expect with most products containing either avocado or rosehip in it.

It was easy to apply and I find you don't really need a large amount, maybe the size of a pea depending on how dry your skin is. I used about the size of 20c coin as I have really dry skin and like my skin to drink it up for increased hydration.

Wow, I have to admit, after applying this, my skin actually looked good and it felt really soft too. I noticed that after this bottle had ran out, that my skin wasn't as red as it normally is and a lot more clear. It even had a wee glow to it.

Would I buy it again? Yes most definitely but in the bigger size as it didn't take me long to use it due to my extremely dry skin.

A big 5 stars from me for this product.

Great facial oil

I was purchasing other Antipodes products at Farmers and the brand rep was there too and gave me a very generous 15ml sample bottle of this oil. My skin can be quite oily if it's not balanced right but I find using a facial oil at night markedly reduces the amount of oil on my skin during the day and it improves the overall appearance of my skin. It was in a dropper bottle and three drops is the perfect amount for my skin. This didn't smell as good as other oils I have used but it wasn't bad either I didn't mind it, especially with all the other products I pile on at night. The sample was very generous and lasted me about two months using it daily. My skin really liked this oil and it wasn't heavy or over the top. It sunk into my skin well and I will be purchasing this next time I run out of facial oil.

Slick

This is a lovely oil to use with a neutral smell. A 30ml bottle lasted me a long time I found two drops plenty for my face so good value for money. Nice and smooth application and doesn't cause an oil slick like some others. This and the goodness chia oil are my favourite face oils to use.

Divine Indeed!

The title of this little oil is a big statement, but when I started using it I found they weren't lying.

I've always been a big fan of rosehip oil products, but I found this combination was particularly lovely. My skin felt smooth and nourished after applying and massaging in a few drops.

The packaging was conventional for oils, but nonetheless convenient and attractive - a small bottle with a dropper to dispense only the number of drops I need. The brown glass and dark green label gave it a wholesome, apothecary feel.

This was a really lovely facial oil and one I would definitely repurchase.

Tips: If you find it too heavy for your skin try using it only two or three times a week.

Great product!

Absolutely love this! Especially in winter. Nourishes my dry skin, and leaves a wonderful glow. Only need to use a little at a time, and also absorbs very fast.

Tips: Use sparingly to avoid skin being to oily

A fabulous oil

I have repurchased this oil many times as it is now my go-to oil. I have oily skin that is acne prone and I have residual acne scarring. Using this oil has visibly improved my oiliness during the day and gives me beautiful supple skin overnight. I love the combination of rosehip and avocado oils in this product.

Tips: You can also mix this oil into your moisturiser.

Good for dark spots

I really liked this oil for fading bad acne scars. I also get comedonal acne, and this didn't break me out - but also had to make sure not to use too much. I would say it's just as good as the rosehip oil from The Ordinary, but a bit more expensive.

Tips: Don't use too much if you're prone to comedones
