I have used charcoal washes before. I was skeptical to try this because in the past I feel like they leave my face feeling stiff and dry. It was certainly the opposite with this product. The gel was light and runny yet still foamed up a lot so you dont have to use too much of it. Unfortunately my bottle broke in transit so the pump didnt work, unlikely this will be the case with yours if buying from a shop. I love the fresh smell and you can still smell it on your skin long after you use it. This makes me feel fresh and clean. As I have only used it for a week I am unsure on how much it helped with blackheads but I havent had one all week! My skin felt clean yet hydrated. I highly recommend this cleanser as an affordable option compared to some high end expensive charcoal scrubs on the market.

Tips: Rub your hands together to make it foam before applying to your face.
SO FAR this seems to be a winner! Realistically, I’ve only used it 3-4 times since receiving it... BUT It foams reeaaaaal good and has a peppermint cold feel to it which I’m guessing is the salicylic acid? It’s like brushing your teeth on your face= Clean clean clean! If you have dry skin, this will probably make it worse. If you have oily skin? This is your new husband. Super good size, and has a pump top which explains itself. But the actual product? It says it gets rid of black heads...but not sure if this is true. Can anything actually get rid of black heads other than proper treatment? It probably decreases sebum production which would result in fewer blackheads. I don’t know. All in all, it’s a good face wash and I rate it.
I very spekical of any product that claims to reduce blackheads. I’ve tried countless products- low and high end. I’ve tried herbal remedies too. This gel wash comes in a black packaging which I think it’s great, definitely makes it easier to find in amongst the face creams that are all in white bottles. I lock that this gel wash can locked with a twist of the pump. Very handy to keep kids out of it! I proceeded with caution when I applied this gel wash. The charcoal gel is a very light black colour, almost grey and when rubbed together it turns white. The gel isn’t super light when applied but it’s also not very heavy and doesn’t feel like it’s restricting your face. I could feel the gel wash activate on my face and once washed off, my face felt smooth and lifted. After 8 hours I could see little pimples appearing around and on my nose but they disappeared the next day after I used this gel wash. I’ve got sensitive skin and I after using this product daily for about one week, I have not experienced any reactions. I have definitely noticed that my blackheads have reduced in size and some has disappeared completely.
Tips: Use daily for best results
I can see this becoming my favourite face wash pretty soon! I really like the scent of this gel wash, it's quite minty and for some people who have sensitive eyes it could be too strong, but for me it's just right. I could see this product becoming part of my morning skincare routine, since the mint is so refreshing!
It's also worth mentioning that little goes a long way, I used three pumps and usually I would use either that or up to five depending on the cleanser. It lathers up really nicely and it feels really soft on the face and also leaves your skin feeling soft too.
The packaging isn't really anything eye-catching apart from the contrast of the dark product against the light text on the bottle. That does make the brand and product details stand out which makes it easy to read. The product in the bottle is black and comes out as grey colour with a light creamy texture but once it lathers up its a creamy white. The product isnt as abrasive as I thought it would be, it's the texture I quite like since I have a sensitive undereye and cheek area, and it doesn't hurt to use or irritate my skin.
I've only used the product twice, and I can already tell my face is less greasy/oily. I can't tell if I have less blackheads just yet but the texture of my skin is better since I've used it. My boyfriend has also used it and he said he likes this product as well, and he never likes trying my skincare products! His forehead is extremely prone to blackheads and they are a bit less visible. I would recommend this product to anyone whose skin is oily or prone to blackheads, or just wants a nice face wash for the morning that will prevent the build-up of oils and dirt that cause blackheads.
Tips: I would recommend using a cleansing pad from Shop Miss A or Kmart, or any other shop that sells them. The pads that sit on your fingers that have bristles on them. The product will cleanse your skin better!
I really enjoy this product. I love love love the pump bottle, it has a permenent spot in my shower and is so easy, 1 pump is all you need. Its not a scary black like charcoal but more a black tinted gel, it foams nicely and feels "active" when rubbing on your face. There is a light tingle which I like because it feels like it's working. It also clears off makeup fantastically. Has it cleared up my black heads? That's hard to tell, but it definitely hasn't made them worse. My skin feels cleaner, and it really gets stuck into the oils my skin likes to produce in abundance, almost like it's been toned aswell so I have been skipping the witch hazel. I also note it has calmed down my spots, they are less inflamed and go away faster. There is a strong peppermint/menthol smell which might explain the tingling, its not at all unpleasant. I will purchase this again when I've finished this bottle, I really enjoy the ease of use and feeling of my skin.
Tips: Avoid contact with nostrils and eyes, burn baby burn. Great for use in the shower!
I really like this to me it's a clean less mess version of the other garnier charcoal 3 in 1. It's scent sort of has the same charcoal smell as the 3 in 1 but isn't as intense and abit sweeter which I liked. The product is a transparent black gel that foams white just a little when you apply, I was expecting more of a shaving foam effect I don't know why lol. I would have to say I like this product a lot it's one of my favourite garnier products, after using this my skin always felt clean and refreshed also looked real good. I noticed spots were less visible and my skin was softer and looked cleaner . I highly recommend this if you have stubborn spots and blackheads or even if you want to give this a try I recommend giving it ago it did wonders for my skin.
This charcoal cleanser is very effective on combination/oily skin. I do think it could be a bit drying for normal to dry/sensitive skin types. But I have combination skin so I found it to be very effective at preventing break outs around my T Zone. Also it really does a great job at clarifying pores and has noticeably reduced the blackheads that I had on my nose! So it really did do what it said it would do. It’s fantastic at getting rid of blackheads! The only complaint I have about the product is that I think it has quite a strong, chemical smell. So that’s the only downside and that could just be my personal experience. But if you’re sensitive to strong smelling products, then that may be something to consider. But overall, it is a product that does what it promises and delivers results!
this is my best face wash which i found and tried ,to be really effective and affrodable for oily acne and sensitive skin ,it cleared up my acnes in a few weeks ,cleans up my pores mostly ,and did not cause my any irritations .this is my skin saver all the time !
I was weary using this as I know charcoal can be very drying and my skin is currently combination, so I didn't want to dry out the already dry areas just to have the blackhead prone areas (my forehead and cheeks) look better. However my blackheads have been worse than usual this summer, so help was needed.
Before I get into it... the packaging is nice. I like the pump and the look of the product. It has a medicinal feel about it. The scent is clean, fresh and reminds me of men's deodorant, but not in a cheap and nasty way.
I have been using a pump of this every morning on my forehead and cheeks after cleansing with my Ecostore cream cleanser (thanks Beauty Review!). It leaves my cheeks and forehead feeling cleansed and really smooth. It hasn't stripped my oily areas. If anything I feel they've been more matte during the day. Since using I've seen no new blackheads and my stubborn blackheads have become smaller and less gunky.
I'm also using this on my back and have seen/felt a reduction in back pimples, which is fantastic.
I've knocked it back a point on the recommendation, because even though it is gentle, it does dry skin - so if you're oily skinned, go for it. Combo skinned, go for it on your oily areas. Dry skinned - I'd pass.
