Smelly...... but Magical!

I am very hesitant in trying new products on my 2 year old daughters sensitive skin. For a long time we had been using a similar product to Ungvita that was much more expensive. One day I decided to bite the bullet and give it a go! Thank goodness I did. Not only was it more affordable than the other leading brand product I had been using but the results worked much faster! Our daughter suffers severely from awful nappy rash regularly. We have to be very careful about what products go onto her skin. The first time we purchased Ungvita her skin was almost red raw, that night after her bath we applied the ointment before bed and in the morning.... Nothing, all of the redness was gone! It was amazing. Never had any product prior to this worked so well and so quickly. The only thing that had me a little concerned was when I first opened the tube - the smell - I thought we had bought an "off" or "bad batch" however its just the way the product is. Its a very odd, unpleasant smell, in my opinion anyway. Every Mother of a small child or infant should give this fantastic product a go. Not only is it incredibly affordable, its available Everywhere! We buy ours from almost any super market, the only one we have found that does not have it is Countdown. And did I mention it works wonders?! Love Ungvita and will never go a day without it ever again xx

Tips: Available at almost every super market from $7-11. *Except Countdown.

Magic in a tube

This is another one of those staple products in our household. We first discovered Ungvita when my midwife recommended it for nappy rash, which cleared it up in no time.

Since then we use this for pretty much everything - cuts, grazes, eczema, nappy rash, chapped lips....the list is endless.

The biggest drawback of the ointment is that it has a really pungent smell - it's not offensive, but it is really strong. Once you get past that though, it's absolutely fine. It has an unusual sort of thick, jelly like consistency which spreads really easily as it warms on the skin.

Tips: Keep a tube in the glove box, it's amazing how many times we use it when we are out and about.

Ungvita Cream

I first discovered this 22 years ago when I had my first child, he was a premy and was prone to nappy rash, since then I have always had it in my first aid kit, as I use it on cuts grazes on my 9yr old, the smell is quite over powering but if you can get past that its fantastic

This was ok.

Well, this product was a bit eh, but that's me. I used it in hope that it would help stop my eczema and cracked skin, it did that, but not to the point where I was impressed and where I would use it again.

I found that this ointment was very very very oily and hard to absorb, which was disappointing. :'( It left my skin more itchy than if I didn't use it at all.

Would I recommend it to a friend, well, I guess I would, just to say to them to give it a go and see if its for them, but I myself wouldn't use it again unless I had to. the price was reasonable, not expensive, which was cool. :D

Tips: Try it out, and then see if its for you, if so, get it again and again, if not, then try something else. :) all the best either way. :)

Rich in Vit A

A very oily ointment that kinda smells like fish but is most effective on nappy rash, sunburn and inflamed skin conditions. It was my sole first aid tube that I carried around with me when my children were very young. Safe to use on their faces without the fear of them ingesting and causing unnesseceary problems. Doesn't absorb too well into the skin at first but it does keep the treated area moist and adds as a barrier as well. Ungvita has been around for many years and I know that other creams have come on the market and are considered better but none quite like this one with its good quality of natural Vitamin A. I always felt I got my money's worth from it.

Tips: If your putting together a gift basket for a new mother, add this. I guarantee she would definitely thank you for your thoughtfulness.

Magical sunburn cure and the best facemask!

Ok, tried to put my 2 fav uses for it in the title. 1. I'm a fair redhead AND I'm a farmer. Despite my best intentions, I tend to get badly sunburnt from time to time. This stuff is MAGIC! Ive had sunburn that is bad enough to be blistering, smother ugvita on it, wake up in the morning and the sunburn is GONE. Seriously, magic cure. 2. Its the best face treatment when you need moisture, especially if you use it after a shower and before bed. You'll wake up with baby fresh skin in the morning :) Sadly, it pongs a bit of fish so not the sort of thing you want to wear out and about, but I'll suffer through the slightly unpleasant smell for the results. Other tips, it a great lip balm. First aid wise, apply to hard scabs to help soften them to get them off.

Tips: Mix with some olive oil and put through your hair as a leave in overnight treatment. Or just apply straight to damaged hair as an overnight remedy.

Product that's been there my whole life

This is one of those products that I can remember my mum always having around and still do now, I've always used this over rashes and burns and it works a treat. It leaves a little bit of a greasy residue, but it is to be expected. I'm not sure how to describe the smell, it's just one of those smells that can just be explained as 'ungvita', it's a little strong but I've never found it to be obtrusive.

Once I got past the smell........

This is a must have for our first aid kit! It has come to the rescue many times for various complaints but mostly for when I has dry cracked nipples from breastfeeding. I used it after I dried off to help with the sore cracked nipples I was left with. It smells a bit but once I got past that the results speak for themselves. I have used it on my cracked heals too from wearing heels most of the time. My heels as well as my nipples are now smooth and normal feeling yay for that!

I have used this on my son's eczema and we have found that his skin is less irritated and less itch so he is happier that he doesn't have to scratch and make himself bleed.

LIFESAVER!

Tips: Keep this handy like in a first aid kit like we do trust me you will never turn back once you do

Mericle cream

I have dermatitis on my fingers and it has its moments where it gets quite bad and painful, this cream is amazing and fixes it rite up with in a day or two. I use to only use cream from the doctors/ chemist until I decovered this and I won't go back to anything else.

It has a very interesting smell to it but I can deal with when this is so amazing ! The cream does leave a bit of a oily feel to your skin but that's kindnof to be expected with this kind of crea, even my stuff from the chemist use to feel oily. This is the type of cream that has so many uses and every house hold should have a tube of this.

Ungvita Vitamin A

This comes in a tube with a screw top inside a standard box -not flash but this is not a beauty product but a practical ointment which is fit for purpose. The smell is yukky fishy but after you get used to it it is just a momentary dislike. The ointment is greasy but a little bit goes a ling way. I have very sensitive skin and this stops the ichiness and helps with eczema, dermatitis. If the kids get a scratch or bite it stops the pain and the tears soon stop. This is a must in the house if you have young children and at $11.50 is not expensive and is good for so many applications.

Tips: If you are going tramping pop in a pack as this is awesome to stop the itchies
