Meh

Bought it when I was concerned about not moisturising enough. It didn't really make much difference to how my skin felt. Didn't do any harm either. Not worth the money in my opinion.

La posay..Honest Review

Ok here's the thing, It's Cute, love the choice of colour (Instantly when I opened my package, I fell in love with the product! "Why?"

It was The COLOUR!! That beautiful, Warm and looks expensive Gorgeous Blue Is definitely eye catching 🩵

I Asked a friend if she wanted to try the serum first as she has dark circles under eyes, She gave me her feedback on the product and all she said was SlIM IN LOVE with this product ...!

Then I decided okay I'll try this out. Soooo 🫣 THIS IS MY REVIEW On La Roche Posay serum!

I found that the serum gets sticky as it dries under your eyes, In all honestly IV been using it everyday for approx 2weeks. Or close to 2weeks for it's abit early to say if the serum has done what it states it's meant to. But if it's meant to show some results over two weeks, It has not done that, But as mentioned for results it usually take at least 1month. Moving forward:!!!! I don't like how it takes a long time to soak into your skin, I have not experienced this with other serums in the past, but I did get the a large amount in my eye and it stung, I washed it out with water them I was fine🥰 I don't think I would purchase this in future, solely Because it takes to long to dry and it's sticky. But if results are different in a couple of weeks, I'll post another review..I do faith that this product will show results in a couple of weeks.

Tips: 1) Give it time. If you have been using this serum for less than 1month & have not seen any results so far, Don't give up, Some products may react to your skin different and you may see instant results. Give this product at least 1month to show results, If nothing then decide weather it's for you or not.

2) Try not to get the serum in your eyes, If you wash with water straight away.

Hydration in a bottle

I was lucky enough to trial the La Roche Posay Hyalu B5 serum. I have fairly sensitive skin and have been incorporating more anti-aging products into my skincare regime so was interested to see how it went, although I don't have the obvious wrinkles or loss of volume the product appears to be marketed at.

I love the product packaging, it comes in a blue glass bottle with ab dropper applicator, allowing you to hygienically dispense a small or larger amount of product.

The formula itself is a lightweight, clear serum which I found very heavily fragranced. It actually reminds me of a perfume I have owned and is a nice scent, however I prefer my skincare to have a more subtle scent as I don't like unnecessary extras in them.

I applied a couple of squeezes morning and night to my face and chest. The product felt instantly hydrating when applied and absorbed fairly quickly. Afterwards my skin did feel very hydrated and 'plump'.

While my trial did show that based on my skin type the serum met it's hydrating claims and I would recommend it to those wanting a hydrating serum with any skin type, I personally wouldn't purchase it for myself as I found the fragrance just too strong for my liking, but I would use it again if it was ever reformulated.

Strong Fragrance

La Roche Posay is known for being (mostly) fragrance-free and suitable for sensitive or irritated skin. It’s what I value about the brand as a whole. But the moment I opened this little bottle of serum I was hit by the potent amount of fragrance.

The scent is actually really pleasant. But for those with sensitive skin - or people like me who simp,y avoid fragrance because it is unnecessary in skin care - this would not be recommended.

The texture is beautiful though. A thick serum, yet it absorbs quickly. I noticed my skin felt quite irritated if I didn’t immediately lock in the hylauronic acid with an occlusive moisturiser (such as the Cicaplast Mains from LRP). But most moistures should work well over the top of this.

My skin has definitely felt more plump since using this, but I already get enough hylauronic acid from other skin care products so probably won’t repurchase.

Good product - but I have a better alternative

I was lucky enough to receive these from Beauty Review to review. I love La Roche-Posay and regularly use their sunscreen so I was excited to try more of the skincare from this branch.

As you would expect the packaging is lovely. A blue glass bottle with a dropper to get the product. I found the dropper gave just the right amount of product for me to use.

Unfortunately what I didn’t like about this was the scent. I found it quite strong and a wee bit florally. I didn’t enjoy this product overall because of the scent as I found it even stung my eyes (no I didn’t get it in or near my eyes, just upper cheeks). However if you can get past this it is a lovely product. Very serum like and fluid application. I found my skin didn’t react to it and I enjoyed it.

I already use a hyaluronic with B5 from The Ordinary. It is very well priced and doesn’t have any scent at all. I will be repurchasing this as my skin loves it and it does what it should - which is to help hydrate your skin.

B5 serum

I really love the smell of this serum it smells really clean and fresh. Has an interesting texture on skin like wet powder if that’s even a thing. I haven’t noticed if it has diminished any fine lines as of yet usually products like these take a couple weeks to kick in. Will definitely continue using

It’s giving not sure!

Really don’t know about this one! It does make my skin feel very hydrated but not sure there is very much benefits to it unless you have dry skin! Is nice to put on when it’s hot out as it’s nice and cold & very light weight! Would purchase again if it was cheaper I think

I enjoy using it, but why the silicone in it?

I love the chic packaging and the serum itself is such a good consistency, I’m used to very thin water-like serums or very thick ones. This one got the consistency perfect, not too thick, not too runny, also there’s no strong smell, there’s definitely a scent, small amount of fragrance, but so light and faint, can’t even notice it really. This serum feels very nice, it instantly smooths and plumps up my skin, my face was so soft I couldn’t stop touching it, it reminded me of the time I first tried a silicone primer. So I checked the ingredients and there’s silicone in this serum, probably to give you this instant smoothing sensation, so you’d think it works wonderfully. Not sure why a serum needs silicone in the formulation, it sure locks in moisture in the skin and protects from dirt and pollution, but definitely tricks us into thinking how fast it works in smoothing out our wrinkles when in fact it’s just filled out with silicone. It doesn’t irritate my skin, doesn’t leave a sticky feeling behind and it doesn’t clog my pores, I definitely haven’t had any reaction to it, just smooth and hydrated skin. I even tried this without my usual night cream and my skin was still hydrated in the morning, I usually can’t skip creams with my other serums. La Roche Posay sure knows how to formulate nice products that don’t irritate, I’m still a tad disappointed in the addition of dimethicone, as it tricks us into thinking how it works instantly. Well, it doesn’t, I can’t see any effects that would last or a huge difference in my skin yet after about 2 weeks of using it. Nice enough product, but definitely not worth the price tag. There are serums out there with no filler ingredients that are cheaper. However it works beautifully as a primer(thanks to dimethicone) and this is so good under my foundation, I don’t get any dry spots around my chin and I never look cakey. It’s best used on top of moisturiser when used as a primer! This would have been an instant repurchase for me if the ingredients would’ve been better, as I really enjoy using it both at night and under my makeup in the morning.

La Roche Posay Hyalu B5 Serum

I think my somewhat sensitive, temperamental skin just loves this brand! I received this to trial, and to be honest a little weary. I’m not the biggest user of serums but really need to start using them more. And this is one I’ll definitely continue using.

The good: it smells really good, refreshing and revitalising. It’s not too runny nor too thick so it is easy to apply without being messy. It comes in a great size - I’ve been using it everyday since I received it and feel like I’ve barely made a dent in it. I love the packaging - it feels premium and clean. And my skin feels nice and soft after applying. The best thing: it has not irritated my skin at all; not even redness after applying like I get with even basic moisturisers.

However, I haven’t noticed any difference in my skin. This could just be not using it for long enough or I just haven’t noticed anything. But considering it doesn’t irritate my skin and it’s nice to apply I will keep it up to see if it betters my skin in the long run. I would say don’t use it expecting an overnight result as this may not happen for you as it hasn’t for me. But it is a nice product that I don’t mind using longer term to see results.

Tips: Apply right before bed to clean skin to help feel relaxed and calm.

La Roche Posay® Hyalu B5 Serum

I was lucky to have been sent this serum for review. I use La Roche Posay sunscreen on my face daily and love it, so I was looking forward to trying another product.

I’m 38 now and starting to notice the changes in my skin, although it’s not dramatic yet. It’s starting to tend more towards being dry and tightening up but I don’t have very defined lines yet. (Maybe it’s avoiding the sun like the plague!)

I have been trialling this product for a week and a half and so far I’m happy with the results. In my normal routine I use an oil after cleansing instead of a serum, so the texture of this was not what I was used to. It was a little stickier and at first I worried that it wasn’t going to be my thing or that it would give my makeup a weird finish.

My concerns were unfounded. I found this keeps my face feeling soft and hydrated throughout the day. Honestly my skin was a bit of a mess coming out of lockdown as I was a bit lazier with my skin care routine and probably drank more beer than water! It’s starting to feel smoother and less parched. I got ID’ed at the supermarket on Friday, so maybe I’m looking younger? Haha.

I like the clear blue glass bottle with a handy dropper. I’m a little unsure if I was using the correct amount of product but my skin seems to be happy enough with what I was doing. The fragrance was quite pleasant and familiar but I can’t recall what it reminds me of. I feel like I would buy this again but it’s a little early to say whether I like it more than my usual oil. Cost-wise they are similar.
