Magic

I missed out on getting to trial this but I just wanted to see what it was like so went and purchased it and I am so glad I did!

I got the larger size based on value for money and it already seems like it is going to last forever and I am not complaining.

I’ve started using it as a night time routine and it’s given me such a nice appearance and feels like its done something magical. Acne scars have become less visible and all over appearance is brighter.

It has so many uses and being pregnant I am planning on using this as my belly expands to prevent stretch marks.

My new Magic Potion...

I was lucky enough to get one of the sample bottles (2.5ml) from a friend, and I thank God that this product arrived in my hands to use!

Packaging/Oil - simple, elegant, straight to the point. The packaging includes a box in a deep red rose color, and inside is a brown glass bottle (note that the glass is a thick, sturdy medicine bottle type of glass) with this magic potion (the rose hip oil) inside. The lid is a dropper with a glass body and rubber tip. The oil itself is a gold/deep yellow shade with a natural rose smell to it which is very nice and not overpowering.

My personal experience: After two weeks of using this in replacement of my moisturizer at night before going bed on my face and neck, I found that my complexion was evening out, my acne scarring is less visible and my skin just felt more supple, soft and wasn't breaking out as much as it used to. My skin also looks more brighter, more awake and more hydrated.

To use, I simply use the dropper and add an adequate amount of the oil onto my fingertips and massage it lightly onto my face and neck being careful around the eye areas. This oil absorbs very quickly and is not sticky or leaves your hands very oily like other oils do.

I intend to use this on my stretch marks and scars next and expect some awesome results. You can purchase this in the 20ml or 45ml bottles, and believe me it is worth every cent!

You can also use this for your dry/chapped lips prior to applying your lippy or massage it on your body as a moisturizer to nourish and hydrate your skin.

This is a must have for every lady out there, thank you Trilogy for such an amazing product!

Tips: Personally, I found that using it every night when i first starting using it was too much for my skin (found that my skin was too oily the next morning) so if you plan on using this in your night time regime give it a try 3-4 times a week first and build from there :)

Great oil but smell is weird

I was using the Essano oil but when it finished, I thought I would try the Trilogy based on great reviews and minimal price difference.

Whilst it worked almost the same as Essano (I doubt here is much difference actually), I found this had a weird smell on my skin - almost like fish oil. Even though I only use it in the evening, the smell is pretty gross.

Yes it did what it claimed it would - left my skin soft smooth and evened out, but the smell puts me off. Luckily I only bought the small bottle!

I am keen to try other Trilogy rosehip products to see if they all smell like this!

Tips: Use at night before moisturisng for soft rejuvenated skin in the morning.

Not a fan...

I was lucky enough to get a 2.5ml sample off a friend of this. I was really wanting to try this anyway after seeing the amazing reviews here on BR and elsewhere on the internet. I had also been looking for a serum, or another product which would give my skin some more moisture when needed. I wasn't put off by putting an oil on my skin as I know these can be just what dry skin needs.

The product itself is very thin as you would expect for a oil. I find the smell of the product really puts me off and will be the main reason that I won't be repurchasing this (other than the fact I have so many other products to use up!). I can't quite put my finger on what it smells like, but I find it quite strong and it puts me off.

I have been using this on my face at night before moisturiser and I feel like it doesn't sink in to my skin at all. I wake up and go to do my morning cleanse and it my skin feels oily like this hasn't sunk in at all. However I must say my skin does feel very moisturised.

Overall I just don't think I am a fan of putting oils all over my skin. For me this might be something for particularly dry spots, and not an all over fix.

A product everyone should try

I first tried this product through the share the magic promotion trilogy did during winter 2014. I was a little bit hesitant to try it at first as I was worried how my skin would react to it (I have really sensitive skin). It has now become an essential part of my post shower routine. I use it all over my body, simply putting 1-2 drops on each part of my body, gently rubbing it in before it soaks into my skin. It leaves my skin lovely and hydrated without the nasties that other moisturisers and skin oils have.

Tips: This is a product that lasts really well, so don't be put off by the price.

Terrific Results Considering the Price!

This was one of the first plain oils I used. I've previously always gone for mixes but after reading so many rave reviews on rosehip oil especially Trilogy's, I decided to simplify it and try a plain oil and I was impressed. This oil absorbed beautifully and subtly brightened my complexion over the couple of months I used it. Some facial oils take awhile to absorb and my face is still a bit greasy afterwards (even though I'm somewhat used to it) but this one absorbed and didn't leave a greasy finish just a dewy glow. I didn't have any breakouts while using it, no adjustment period for my skin where it breaks out a bit and then adjusts to the product with time. The only con I can think of with this product is that the scent isn't the best and took awhile for me to get used to it doesn't smell strong bit the scent somewhat hinted a bit of the smell of those fish oil capsules but far less fishy. I guess it must all the Omegas in the oil. But two weeks in and I stopped noticing the scent and also the smell didn't linger for long on my face. I would definitely consider repurchasing and recommended this to my friends and family to try.

Tips: It does have a bit of an oily smell but that fades. This an excellent bargain buy and subtly brightened my skin over time so if you're looking for an oil that sinks in and will brighten your skin a bit and is more reasonably priced than some other brightening serums, I'd recommend you give this a shot.

Smells a little weird but works really well!

This is the first beauty oil product I have used on my face, and the strange smell is a little bit off putting at first however it fades quickly.

I was given a bottle by a colleague of my mothers, when I had mentioned to her that the bout of acne I had been trying to get rid of for months had left small scars along the side of my face, patches of the skin on my face had also become quite dry due to the amount of acne fighting products I had been using.

After using the rosehip oil for a week, (2 drips on a cotton pad after cleansing) I noticed that the dry patches of my skin had reduced significantly and that my skin was glowing again. The oil has also reduced the appearance of the acne scarring on my cheek as well.

Tips: Use in particularly troublesome spots of dryness, or mix a little bit into your moisturiser when you need a bit of a boost!

An oily oil

This is a nice golden oil with not to bad a fragrance just an oily scent not that pleasant but I got used to it pretty quickly. The bottle is glass and the we dropper is great a no mess product so just a little bit about the size off a ten cent coin was more than enough for me too much and it just didn't absorb and that didn't matter how much I rubbed it in. So I used it more as a face mask or a oil mask if you please when I'm soaking in the bath then rinsed it off and I got a lovley soft skin result. I did get a few breakouts using this on my face. I actually used this more on my hands and heals and a couple of scars I have and it worked a treat at softening them up. So for me I found this a nice all round product instead off just trying it on my face. For me I don't know if I'll repurchase as there are so many more to try.

The best Rosehip Oil I've tried.

Over the years I've used a few different Rosehip Oils but Trilogy's product is the one that stands out. I've really noticed the difference in my skins texture & softness. It really seems to be absorbed rather than sitting on top of my skin as others have done. Fine lines are disappearing, my skin is glowing & is softer than it has been in years. Definitely a product to keep in supply!

Tips: Less really is more. Just a few drops applied 2 x daily after cleansing & before moisturising is all that's needed.

Not for me

I was quite excited to try this brand and I brought myself the starter kit which has a sample of each product from the range. The rose hip oil stood out the most to me because I had heard great stories from my friends. As I do with any new product I used it religiously but I found my skin just didn't respond to these products. The oil I would use a few drops onto my skin every day but after I finished the bottle (after a few weeks) I saw no difference.
