Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream

This was a lovely consistency and I definitley felt like I had moisturised with a nourishing product. Maybe slightly heavier than what I am used to...but the fragrance made up for that ;) And it did leave my skin feeling freshly hyrdrated.

Trilogy vital moisturising cream

Thanks to the latest beauty box I have this wee gem on my trial list. I have to start by saying that unfortunately the smell is too overpowering for me and as a result I'm in the process of trying to re-home it. I've used it twice and o do love the feel of it on my skin, the consistency is great, it's easy to apply and seems fantastic in every other way, I just wish it smelled different or was far more subtle. I applied it again sparingly on my upper face and hands and it is all I can smell. A great product but not right for me.

Tips: If you're a bit touchy with smells then I would advise you try it in a shop before buying it.

Not as good as I thought it would be..

This moisturizer does not blend in very well and it feels so greasy! I still have it and I got it for xmas a couple of years ago that's how bad it is..Still, this is my own experience and I must admit that my skin prefers gels. Anyway I hope this helps...

Sticky face

I got this in a trilogy pack and was excited to try it. The smell is gorgeous! The cream is thick and luxurious but I just found it left my skin feeling sticky no matter how long I left it and no matter how much I applied. I have this problem with a lot of moisturisers unfortunately. It is a beautiful product just not for me as I need something lighter.

Best used at night

I got a deluxe 20ml sample of this when Trilogy were doing a fun Spin the Wheel promo at my local Farmers. Lucky me got to spin the wheel more than once. It was the perfect size for a five week trip and I still had plenty left over once I returned home.

This is a white opaque cream with quite a thick consistency. It does tend to stick on the skin for awhile before fully absorbing. This, combined with its lack of SPF meant I used it as a night cream. It has the signature Trilogy scent, which is quite strong, but I personally love. The next morning my skin felt smooth and moisturised.

This is a good basic moisturiser. It does what it should but that's about it. I would use it again but it is a little bit pricey for what it is.

Tips: Trilogy have amazing GWPs. Look for them I tore or online

Rich face cream in old fashioned brown glass jar

A rich, strongly botanically scented face cream with organic rosehip and marula oils. This cream is richer than I would use as a day cream (and doesn't have an SPF which I look for in day use products), but I used it happily as a night cream. The label's claims that it "absorbs instantly" and is "non-greasy" are slightly exaggerated, but it does sink in and leave my skin feeling very soft by morning. The label also claims it's a "perfect base for makeup" - this would not be the case for my oil-prone complexion but I imagine it could be on a drier skin. Despite my greasy skin, luckily this didn't cause me any breakouts.

On the downside, I'm not a fan of the packaging. It's a heavy brown glass pot that leaked en route to my house. Plus I find a tube or pump bottle that dispenses a single use amount cleaner and more hygienic that dipping your fingers into the pot every day.

Lastly, I love that it's made in New Zealand!

Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream

I have been using this moisturiser daily for 3 weeks. As far as I can tell it has no SPF factor so I have used it in place of my usual night cream. It feels light on my skin and has a beautiful fragrance.

Possibly not suitable for break out prone skin

I tried this moisturiser after receiving it in my Beauty Box. I'm very picky about what moisturiser and foundations I put on my combination/ oily skin but was happy to try this since it is meant to be suitable for all skin types.

The packaging is a simple with grey font, a solid line of pink and a silver/grey screw on lid.

The moisturiser is thick and creamy to the touch and smells deliciously like orange. Once applied to the skin it absorbs well but also left a bit of a layer on my skin. Since it is heavy, I used it at night and found it to be really hydrating and left my skin feeling soft, well nourished and smoothed of any lines. Unfortunately my T-zone was also very oily and I started breaking out all over my forehead (which is unusual for me). I have since passed the rest of the tube onto a friend to try.

Soft, light and very Moisterising

This cream absorbed well and was very moist without out being to oily, I found night time use better as it was so rich. During the day the smell got a bit over powering when I got hot from chasing the kids round. Having said that anything floral on my skin doesn't smell great I'm more of a musky base for a perfume. I would reccomend this to any one with dry skin as my skin got a bit oily during the day with the heat. Liked the natural and organic and was very happy with night results, especially as my baby has just started kissing and i didn't have to worry about harmful chemicals on my skin.

Tips: For my type of skin i believe this would make a great night cream as I still needed a SPF during the day and found this cream and Sun screen too much for my skin. So most days while trialing I just hung out in the shade or under a hat

Don't recommend for oil skinned beauties

I have oily sensitive skin and I was gutted when I reacted to this product. I received it in the March BRBB and unfortunately 3 days into the trial I noticed my skin breaking out and by day 4 the dreaded redness appeared which turned into a borderline rash sensitive to touch. Don't panic this is just how my skin reacts to products it can't cope with it doesn't mean it'll happen to you.

Some may say I'm silly for trying the product knowing that I reacted badly to the Trilogy cleanser but just because you can't use one item in a brand doesn't mean you can't use another. Alas I can't use this one either.

I enjoyed how it felt on my skin almost as soft and emollient as Cetaphil and just as thick. I personally wouldn't recommend this for oily skinned beauties because even though it's amazingly hydrating my face felt more oily than usual to the point where I could swipe the bridge of my nose and voila oil!

It took 3-4 days to get my skin back to normal - no makeup, light cleansing, skipped the toner and light moisturiser. If I didn't react to it I would use this as a night cream because there's no harm in having an extra bit of oil production at night right? :-)

Awesome review Koni, this sounds like it would be a great night time moisturiser for me as I have very dry sensitive skin.
