Refreshing & Light

I was so pleased to be given the opportunity to trial this product, I had tried a similar product previously but couldn't really afford to keep using it. I love the packaging, very cool looking and screamed water & hydration...... The glass jar is slick and expensive looking. The gel is incredibly light. I have really sensitive skin I was slightly concerned it may irritate my skin however following over a week of daily use it hasn't affected me at all. The smell is pleasant, difficult to describe as anything other than water. I have very dry skin and when you first apply this gel it feels really cool & hydrating, I could just feel it sinking in. On my skin it was soaked up almost instantly but I did feel slightly tight after about ten minutes. I have found that I also need to apply my usual moisturiser on top of the gel. I don't mind this, I felt like it has 'locked in' the water based gel. My skin has felt comfortable all day and I think is looking better/brighter overall. ps. I LOVE the price of this product, reasonable enough to be able to continue using this regularly and favorably comparable to the more expensive version I have tried before.

Tips: I recommend letting it soak in and then apply your usual moisturiser on top to 'lock' it in.

Definitely a Wrinkle Slurper

I purchased this product after it was first reviewed on Beauty Review by a few Super Hero members. I was very intrigued by the claims of the hyaluronic acid holding the moisture in and keeping the skin super hydrated and thought it might just be what my deeper wrinkles needed - a water plumper wrinkle disguiser.

Initially finding this product in the Supermarket was hard, although it is now readily available and found in many stores that carry beauty and skincare items. So I tracked down this particular product of the range first based on the initial BR reviews. It comes packaged very smartly and does indeed seem much more high end than the price suggests. I was able to purchase it on special for $22.95, RRP is $29.95 at Countdown. The jar of product is a pleasing marine blue with a light metallic blue lid. The gel inside is a light marine blue with a fresh shower water scent reminiscent of that clean soapy water smell. Application of the gel is interesting - the gel is really cold, a little is all that is needed and it spreads very easily. The gel is rapidly absorbed and leaves my skin refreshed, very soft and smooth and definitely feeling plumped up.

I have mature skin with some deeper wrinkles, slight creping and some finer lines. The gel certainly minimises all these defects and the effect is quite noticeable to me. After I had been using the Hydro Boost gel for two weeks, my daughter and another friend remarked that I was looking more relaxed and refreshed. In fact the daughter asked me if I had botoxed my frown lines as I keep saying that I'm going to do one day.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost is the moisturiser I use first thing upon arising - it wakes me up, and plumps up my skin ready for the day. I love that it has a delicate pleasant scent, can be applied even to the eye area without any sensitivity whatsoever and leaves my skin soft and silky but without any leftover residue too. The best thing is that this cheapish gel does more for my wrinkles than any $100 plus serum has ever done and it is now in my bathroom cabinet for good.

I'm onto my second jar and have branched out to the rest if the range, although this particular gel is hands down the star of the whole range.

Tips: The Hydro Boost is best applied at least 20 minutes before applying foundation or other makeup products especially water based makeup products with sponges. It can also be dabbed on over makeup for a quick pick me up plump in the afternoon without it affecting my makeup.

Great drugstore moisturiser

Bought this in New World at half price, go go go! It makes my skin feel smooth and hydrated and works well for dry skin. I also have sensitive areas on my face and this cream is the only cream that doesn't irritate. The only thing I don't like is its a blue colour to match the packaging in the hydro range, which I feel is a bit unnecessary.

Tips: Great for dry/sensitive skin

Awesome for oily skin!

I have oily skin which breaks out, but I have terrible transepidermal water loss. This product works amazing. It gives me moisture without making me break out. The texture is amazing, and goes on perfectly under foundation! The only downside I would have to say is the long list of ingredients, though I am still yet to find a better moisturiser for my skin. I can't wait to try the rest of the range!

Tips: Perfect for use under foundation as it gives an even base!

Feeling Fresh

From the moment I opened the box everything about his product was fresh. The cool blue glass jar & the blue tinted gel. It all looks very elegant.

I love the feeling of putting this on every morning. It smells great and goes on so well leaving my skin feeling so light and fresh ready to seize the day.

Since using this product my skin is definitely looking healthier and more hydrated through out the whole day.

Hydration Must!

I am so in love with this product! I was super excited to try this, as I have never tried a gel moisturizer and now that I have, I don't think I would go back.

It’s super hydrating and makes my skin feel super soft and refreshing. I use mine twice a day, once in the morning and again at night after my shower. The only down side that I had notice with using this was that after my shower at night and can sting a little when applying. This is no biggie to me as I realize that my skin is open up and the sensitive areas are more irritable at this stage. If you have sensitive skin it may pay to test it before going with a full size pot or even see if there is an option for sensitive skin.

The packaging is nice and light, instead of a glass pot it is plastic, which is good (just in case you drop it on the bathroom tiles) and the lid goes on nice and easy. The gel its self is nice and light and soaks up nicely once it is on your skin. It does not leave a sticky feeling on your face, which some gel base products can do. I believe that since I have start using this, my skin is feeling a lot more hydrated and I would recommend this product to my friends and family

Has good points and bad points

I've been wanting to try this for a while, it gets such great reviews. I've been after a good moisturiser because of this acne cream I'm on - I can only use a moisturiser during the day under my make-up, so I need a really good one to try and help with dry patches that have come up from the medication.

There are a lot of things I really like about this gel. It smells really nice, a mild baby-powder-ish smell, not over powering at all.

It looks really soothing and pretty in the jar and the jar is awesome - it's a solid, plastic pot that you can easily get the get out of and won't break if you drop it.

One of the big points for me was that it doesn't leave a tacky feeling like you'd expect from a gel. All my experiences with gel have been that it's sticky and tacky once applied, but this absorbs really, really well.

You can feel that it's worked after you apply it - I know a lot of moisturisers you don't really feel a difference, with this I can tell what areas I've applied the gel to and which ones I haven't - not because I can feel the moisturiser but because I can feel how soft my skin is.

Overall, this is a great product. The only downside for me is that it isn't as moisturising as what I need - it hasn't really done much for helping with the dry patches. That being said, it isn't really advertised as being for very dry skin, so it's possible my expectations are a bit unreasonable. It does work very nicely on regular skin and it sits underneath make-up like a dream!

Love, love, love

I need to buy a new one soon, I'm almost out. Use it every morning after cleaning my face. It absorbs really well leaving my skin plump and does what it says it does. It helps with my foundation and my skin stays still, it doesn't slip. It also feels nice and cool just like the laneige water sleeping pack which I also love.

Tips: Good for dry to combination skin. Apply more if needed

Perfect under makeup

When this first came out I was super excited because it was a gel formula and reminded me of Clinique's moisturizing gel. I used to use the clinique one before life got more expensive and I could not justify the cost.

At $30 a pot ( or $15 if you wait for it to come on special) it's a good alternative. The gel formula soaks in really quickly and makes a really good base for my make up. Also you can sweat through it rather than sweating it off ( Dance teacher problems).

I did not notice a huge difference to how moisturized my face was but then I do not have very dry skin as i'm more of a combination.

A friend of mine who has very very dry skin and was struggling to find something to get it under control used this after I recommended it and had excellent results. She has continued to use it and the nigth cream and no longer has any problems.

A pot of this lasts me a few months and it's easy to get as all supermarkets stock it. I will continue to use this product.
