Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater Review

After seeing this at Mecca as one of the best sellers for Mario Badescu i thought i would give it a try. I love it! I went through a bottle pretty quickly, it lasted about 2 months (but that was me spraying multiple times a day). I think it is also a pretty reasonable price so i have super happy to purchase again :) As i bought it in summer, i used it alot to refresh my face during the day. I also used it to set my makeup after i had put it on. I have quite dry skin so i love that this is so easy to spray on for quick hydration :)

If you're currently in NZ, you'll know this heat is ridiculous. The sun streams through my office in the afternoon which turns me in to this exceptionally sweaty mess. My make up would run down my face and I looked and felt horrendous. I bought the Facial Spray to keep on my desk and to rehydrate throughout the day. And I am so glad I did. The scent is just enough so as not to overpower, I feel rejuvenated and fresh with every spritz. About 4 or 5 spritz will last me some time, help cool me down, and my make up doesn't run away. It's easy to apply, and I can just do it at my desk with out any issues. My coworkers are often asking if they can come borrow it!! And given it is just so ridiculously cheap I have no qualms sharing it around the office. Even with the sharing, it will last me quite some time! I have the Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea "scent". I really like this spray for its simplicity. It is very easy to apply and at the least very refreshing. The spray can be used as a refresher for dull skin, primer, setting spray or a toner so it is well worth the mere $10. I enjoyed that the spray was quick to use and the scent was not too overpowering. Just the sort of thing you would want to travel with. I have dry skin and it was so nice to try something that actually hydrated!

I have typically dry/irritated skin, and this has been the most refreshing non-irritating find. The spritz provides a calming cooling effect, which is especially a treat for red skin that has a tendency to heat up. It's comparable to MAC's Fix+, but I found this steal of a spray to be much more hydrating.

If you have slightly oily skin, this isn't going to be a mattifying makeup setter, but will still be great in your skincare line-up as it isn't going to contribute to your oily skin. An absolutely perfect go-to for those with dry skin who need a dewy top up throughout the day, and a little extra hydration in their beauty routine.

PLUS there is the added bonus that it smells delightfully fresh. Honestly, next time your in Mecca, grab the $10 bottle and give it a go - will not regret.

After hearing a whole lot of hype around this product, I couldn't resist picking it up from Mecca Cosmetica on a trip there a while ago. Since then I have repurchased this multiple times - I think this is my 3rd or 4th bottle - and I'm just in love with it! It retails for $10 for 118ml but you can get the larger size with 236ml of product for $18. It can only be purchased at Mecca Cosmetica though, so that may be a downfall for some who don't like shopping online and don't have a store nearby.

This product comes in a matte, clean looking translucent spray bottle. It is very nice looking, and the pink spray stands out well so you can easily tell how much is left. The nozzle is average, not the best I have tried but decent. Although the product is pink, it doesn't leave a tint on your skin or makeup. It smells gorgeous, a lovely rose fragrance. I like to use it after washing my face to tone, and also before and after applying makeup to prime and set - it's great for getting rid of the powdery look. It leaves my face moisturized and dewy looking. You can also use it for other purposes - making eyeshadows more pigmented by spraying on the brush then applying to your eye, or refreshing your makeup throughout the day.

I would definitely recommend picking this up, it's a great multipurpose facial spray that smells divine! One bottle lasts 3 months easily, and that's the small size! I would imagine it would be great for sensitive skin too - so soothing and cooling, definitely not just for the sake of spraying your face.

I purchased the 8 fl oz bottle thinking that I would go through in fast, but it actually lasts a decent amount of time.

THE PRODUCT: It claims to be for "All skin types" which I foind great because most of the time alot of brands tend to make either a product aimed at dry skin or oily skin types so to have this facial spray so universal is great. I used this to refresh my skin when needed, before I apply my foundation, after I have finished using powders I will spray it to settle the powders into my skin and I also use it to intensify my eye pigments. I find it works great for all of these uses. But I am not one who likes alot a scent to my products and I can sometimes find this to be a little to strong so that is my only downfall with this facial spray.

THE PACKAGING: It comes in this frosted plastic bottlewith a screw on nozzle spray that has a clear removable lid. The spray nozzle itself is good it gives an even amount of product without heavy droplets that some sprays tend to do. The labelling is clear and well printed.

OVERALL RATING: 7/10

I’ve used many facial sprays and I believe this one is THE must-have. My sister bought this from Mecca Maxima in Australia for relatively a similar price to what it sells for here in New Zealand ($17-18AUD).

I was never interested in the product because of the rose scent but I feel like there is a good balance where it’s light enough for both those that love the rosewater fragrance and those that tend to shy away from it. The frosted-like plastic is sturdy and great for travel (particularly if you pick up the smaller size which is only $10 for 118ml). I actually like the contrast of the pinky rose liquid through the packaging so you know how much you have left. Another bonus is you could potentially reuse the bottle to put in some sort of haircare concoction.

The mist is so light and has good coverage so I don't feel like a waste much product. I use this product in a number of ways - after I tone, after primer, on my brush to apply my makeup and as a setting spray. It works wonderfully even for someone who has oily skin like myself. As with any facial spray I keep the spritzing (to set my face) to a minimum because I do find that I tend to become oily sooner so just 2 spritz to set my face is sufficient.

What I love most about this product is that it’s actually GOOD for my skin. I have sensitive skin and I haven't had any problems with it. It’s not just a mist of “ohhh-la-la”; it hydrates the face and doesn’t leave a film of residue behind. I’ve been using it consistently for 3 months and I have a 1/4 of the 236ml left. For only $18 this is a steal and I am looking forward to repurchasing my next one.

This product is life changing! It is so soothing on the skin and smells so beautiful. I use it when I am doing my morning or nighttime skincare, which feels so refreshing on my bare face. And I sometimes also use it when I am doing my make up as it is perfect for setting your face. If this product is not in your beauty collection, it should be!
