Oh My Goodness!!

I was lucky enough to get this lovely product in my BBBE mystery box.

It comes in a cute tin, and for some reason I love little tins, that is a lovely yellow colour with some other pastel splodges and Goodness branding. Once you screw the lid open, the product inside looks like puddle of waxy lemon sorbet! And it smells kinda like a lemony sorbet too – quite edible in fact. When you run your fingers over it, it softens very quickly and can then be very easily applied to the skin. In spite of initially feeling quite greasy, it absorbs very quickly and leaves very little residue. It can be then wiped off with a damp cloth, taking your make up and the day’s dust and dirt with it. It is not at all messy to use.

What I like about this product, and other products of its type, is that after cleansing, it can be applied lightly for moisturising, especially if have you dry mature skin like mine. It is full of gorgeous oils such as coconut, olive, sunflower seed, avocado, and chia. Which of course means, you can pack only this product for multiple purposes when you’re travelling – yay!

Personally I think this is the best of the Goodness products I’ve tried so far, and appreciate it is non-irritating and gentle on skin, like the other Goodness products. I think $20 is a fair price for this product, and I would buy it again.

Tips: Buy some and carry it with you :)

Goodness Make up Remover

I saw all the fabulous reviews about this balm so I had to give this baby a try . After trying the trilogy balm I wanted to give this one a try .

I loved the packaging of this make up balm tin . It’s bright coloured and easy to identify amongst my other beauty products.

Consistency is a thick yellow coloured balm . It reminds me of a grainy balm that has a strong lavender and mixed herbs scent . It’s bold and strong.

I apply this to my full face of make up . I use a hot flannel to help lift off my make up . My foundation and eye shadow all come off with a breeze. My liquid eye liner and eye liner and mascara unfortunately did not budge. After multiple times trying all failed. I used my cleansing oil to get the remaining make up off.

After using it I was just a little bit disappointed that it didn’t take all my make up off . I can’t see myself repurchasing this one. I need one remover that it all not multiple removers.

Good Bye Makeup

While I loved my oil makeup remover, I wanted to try something else, and having tried other Goodness products, when I saw this at my supermarket, it just fell in with my groceries. The tin is a good size, and is easy to open & close, even with product. You only use a little, I tend to use the back of my little finger nail, to get about two fingernails worth out. then it's a case of massage into your face - very easy to use. It has an odd smell, which reminds me of freshly cut grass, but i think it is mostly a dandelion smell. Importantly it removes makeup, even thick stubborn black eyeliner, and it is gentle on my eyes. I soak a facecloth in hot water and use this to wipe off, it's also nice to allow the hot cloth to rest on my face. It makes it feel like a treatment.

Tips: You really do only need a little bit.

This sounds perfect for my day to day make up wear, good tip about the hot cloth. I would really like to give this one a test! Interesting comment about the smell though....

A Balm to Savour

Goodness break-up make-up balm came in a pretty pastel-toned screw-top tin. It boasts an impressive list of natural ingredients, almost a diet list! First impression for me was the aroma of the balm - almost "medical" as it reminded me of Vicks days, or was it Rawleigh's? I have been using a cleansing balm and this one surprised me with its grittiness, almost to exfoliant level. However, that had no detrimental effects on my skin.

This product is very economical, only a frugal amount is needed for the entire make-up removal and eye area also benefits with the Goodness ease of application and removal.

I felt my skin's "relief" immediately after I removed the balm, which in turn took all traces of make-up away with efficiency. In the morning I felt that I had a bare, clean canvas for my moisturiser, and in the evening I apply a fine night serum which went on and was absorbed beautifully.

I would buy this product for everyday use, particularly because of its cost and content, but I do prefer a smoother balm without the "grit".

Tips: Lightly moisten your face or finger before digging into the balm cake, it applies much easier and you use less product.

Gentle, enviro-friendly, affordable

I purchased this as I loved the Trilogy Make Up Removal Balm but couldn't afford to repurchase that on a regular basis so I wanted a drugstore alternative. While not as amazing as the Trilogy one, this is an excellent make-up removal balm and very affordable. The balm comes in an adorable pastel yellow tin with artwork on the bottom half of the tin. I love that this comes in a tin as I prefer less plastic in my beauty regime and the tin can be reused afterwards for storing bits and bobs like earrings. The size is 80mL which I find didn't last me long as I tend to wear heavy full faces of make up and require a lot of product each use. The balm is pale yellow in colour and quite greasy in texture compared to over make up removal balms. This has the typical earthy smell a lot of goodness products do; it's not unpleasant but there is a strong aroma of chia seed oil and sunflower seed oil, so steer clear if you don't like strong scents. This says to use just a fingernail amount but I found I need a large scoop of about three to four fingertips in size to do my entire face if I am wearing lipstick and full on eyeshadow. A smaller amount suffices if I am just removing face/base make up. This is super gentle, and gently melts away all of my make up. It doesn't work well on matte lipsticks as it tends to smear the colour everywhere without fully removing it, so I recommend using a micellar water to remove liquid lipstick and use this for the rest of the face. This wipes away foundation in seconds, but requires a bit more work to remove heavy eye make up, especially mascara which takes a few wipes with this and a wet cloth to remove. However, I find this much gentler to use than regular make up remover, and more environmentally friendly as it just requires a cloth rather than cotton make up pads. This also hydrates the skin nicely whilst gently removing make up. This does leave a greasy residue however after use which I find I need to wipe off with a towel, or cleanse off with a cleanser afterwards. Overall, I think this is an excellent affordable make up removal balm, but it isn't my favourite due to the greasiness and the small amount of product included.

Goodness - make up balm

So excited to test this Goodness - Make up Balm! My review will be bullet points: • Wow love the funky branded/coloured tin, good size to throw in your handbag • overall product branding, info and method was very good and visible • generous amount, 80mls • initial scent...so organic and natural (you know this has too be good, no nasty additives) • product texture, buttery balm that melts in your hand...a lil goes a long way • massaging into your face, it feels like your actually moisturising your face not cleansing it (so it doesn't feel like a chore)...goes on nicely and spreads so well • using a warm cloth to wipe off, actually takes a few goes to ensure you've wiped the balm off • YES it cleanses the makeup off, yet it leaves your skin feeling moisturised • I didn't do an allergy test because I based it on the fact the ingredients where all natural! Will I continue to use this balm again....YES! Yes I will and I shouldn't say this but it's also great for days when you wanna moisturise really dry legs, arms and feet.

Tips: Tips? • I highly recommend this balm for day to day light makeup applications. I would recommend for long lasting items like mascara and long lasting lippy use a more stronger cleanser or facial wipes. • for acne prone faces or problem areas I recommend your wipe of balm carefully and do not apply extra moisturiser after as the balm has already done that for you. • keep the balm in a cool place (prone to melting if left near heat or direct sunlight) • do not use white facecloths (when wiping balm off) use an coloured face cloth and ensure its wash thoroughly to remove balm from cloth

Goodness break up makeup balm

This balm comes in a really cute tin container that is super easy to open, the balm is just the right consistency to use not too firm and not too soft. Using two fingers you get enough to rub over a dry face, using a warm wash cloth all of your make comes off perfectly and you are left with a clean face, I have used a toner after to see if there is any remaining makeup but goodness has removed extremely well. What impressed me was I didn't have that tight dry stripped feeling nor a greasy feeling. It feels very gentle, it's taken away the makeup but not all the moisture. Clean skin and ready for moisturiser (I felt I needed less moisturiser). I have dry skin and using this to remove my days makeup has worked great, I sometimes use a long lasting foundation and it hasn't been a problem the balm has just as a effectively taken this off. But there is more! Eye makeup this balm is so gentle I have used it around my eyes, rubbed it over my eyelashes to remove mascara and loved how all my eye makeup has been removed. This product has ticked all the boxes for me I am a big lover of this balm, and the tin is awesome, travelling it is a great container to put into a bag.

Tips: Once I've rubbed balm over face there is enough balm on my fingers to gently rub over my eyes to remove eye makeup with any negative reaction I.e no stinging or watery eyes.

New favourite cleansing balm!

I've liked all the Goodness products that I've tried so far. I'm also a big fan of cleansing balms and pretty devoted to Lush's Ultrabland. However, when I recently ran out and wasn't due to visit Lush for a few weeks, I eagerly picked up this from my local supermarket.

It comes in a really attractive and easy to open tin which I plan to repurpose (it's perfect for shampoo bars). Inside is a yellow, semi solid balm. It has a strong, but not unpleasant smell - hard to describe but a little bit herbal and a little bit citrusy. As per instructions, I scoop out a finger nail size blob. It quickly melts to an oil in my hands and I then massage it over my face. I can rub it into my eyes without them feeling irritated. Removed with a warm cloth (a good old-fashioned flannel is best) it removes all my makeup without a trace. It leaves my skin feeling soft and clean and not oily at all. It can leave my eyes a bit filmy which is typical of most cleansing balms.

I will definitely buy this again. It is a great price, especially for the size of the tin, and it does exactly what it says it will. I may be have become a little less devoted to my holy grail cleanser after using this!

A great cleansing balm!

I tried this after getting a beauty box from MakeupObsessives, and fell in love with it almost immediately. The texture is light and melts into your skin so quickly yet removes your makeup so well. I tend to add a small amount of water to make it into a milky emulsion before wiping off. I also love that you only need to use a small amount of it and that the price point is so reasonable that I will repurchase when my current tin runs out.

Tips: Try using it to clean your beauty blender! I find it does just as good of a job as anything else I've tried

My go-to balm

I never would have purchased this product had it not been included in the BBBE Gamble Box. I’m so glad it was because it’s now my go-to balm. Prior to this, I was using the Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm, same thing, but at the higher end of the spectrum.

It comes in a handy tin with the brand’s typical fun twists of lime green colours. The only issue I have with this packaging is I find that the lid is not very secure; I have to put quite a bit of pressure to close it. I hate dipping my fingers into tubs of product so I reuse the Omorovicza spatula to scoop out the yellow product. The balm has a lovely fragrance which reminds me of a light blend of lemon, orange and grapefruit.

I want to make it very clear that I always remove my make up with facial wipes first before going in with the balm; that’s just my preference. What’s the point of using the balm then? For me, it’s purely to remove what I’ve missed with the facial wipes and it really does a fantastic job while leaving my skin feeling supple.

When melting the product in my hands, it feels somewhat gritty but it melts away within seconds. I smooth the product over my skin and it feels AMAZING - just like silky oil - I can seriously just stand there and massage my face for quite some time; it feels that good! Once I’m back to reality I remove the balm with a warm cloth in the shower.

I have tried removing my makeup with just the balm alone and it performs well however I feel that I’m just creating more of a mess that it doesn’t really break through all the layers. This doesn’t mean it’s not good, it just means you either repeat the session or remove the rest with facial wipes or a warm cloth. I’d rather just have a clean face the first time round by removing with facial wipes then going in with the balm. This product is now a staple and for such an affordable price and easy to access I’d be silly not to recommend it.
