ONE WORD. FABULOUS.

This stuff is actually like heaven for your lips. It literally feels like a butter which you smear on. Unfortunately it doesn't sink it straight away so you have about 10 minutes of gunk on your lips, but the results afterwards is incredible. Only need to use it once and it will last you hours of soft lips! Price seems a bit expensive considering it's just a lip butter, but one pot will last you half a year (if you use it like 2-3 times a day). I have it in Caramel and it smelt great when I first got it and now either I've gotten too used to it but it smells much more artificial now. However I never really bought it for the smell, just to keep my lips nice and soft!

Tips: Exfoliate before using, it feels horrendous to have slime sticking to your little flaky skin parts. Also, use at night for best results also because it has a creamy colour so it's not see through and if you don't really like that colour it's not the best.

Caramel.. Mmm..

Since caramel is my favourite flavour of anything, ever, I had to pick up one of these. It smells sooooo good and leaves my lips so soft (especially when I use it overnight, which is unusual for me because I have weird lips that dry out overnight). It's really thick and creamy and, again, smells amazing.

My only issue with this is it leaves a weird white cast on my lips and makes me look a bit washed out and zombie-ish so I am limited to using it only at night when no one can see me :P

NIVEA Lip Butter - Review

I grabbed a few of these on sale at my local countdown as I was drawn to the delicious flavors they offered.

The tin it comes in is large and good value for the price but some may not like it as tins aren't very sanitary, this doesn't worry me too much though.

I got the flavors Caramel Cream and Original, and the Original one has no scent but the Caramel Cream one has a very strong scent, which some won't like at all.

This doesn't do a lot to moisturize, it just sits on my lips and if I apply too much it leaves a white cast. I did expect these to be a bit more moisturizing, but they are more just a coat of moisture on your lips.

I won't be buying these again as I think tubes of lip balm are more convenient and easier to use, and the formula of this isn't great either.

Not what I expected

Sadly I didn't like this as much as other Nivea lip products. I had the Vanilla and Macadamia 'scent' and found it quite sticky, it had a very strong sweet smell and I found it overwhelming. I prefer my lip products to be twist up if I am taking them with me somewhere as I don't like putting my fingers into the pot when out and about. You never know what kind of germs you might have picked up or are even left behind after sanitizer! They were a lovely and exciting new product to try but I think I will stick to my Hydro Care twist stick.

Tips: Apply a tiny amount with clean finger. Better for use at home before bed.

Smells great, works great.

I can't get enough of these - I'm in love with every single one of Nivea lip butter. They all smell delicious, and they work wonders on your lips. I personally don't take it outside because of hygiene issues, but at home I use it constantly. It's really good to pack this on before you go to sleep, let it work it's magic and wake up to find your lips smooth and moisturised. I would definitely purchase this again!

Tips: You can also use this as a lip scrub - just coat your lips with this, wait for an hour or two, and gently rub your lips with a cotton bud to remove any dry/excess skin. It doesn't irritate your lips as well!

Thank you for a great review. My lips tend to sunburn easy and become very dry. I can't wait to try this product out.

Cute

These are nifty little tins filled with sweet buttery lip product that is sure to leave you with super soft lips. They are all very creamy and buttery that go on fairly clear and last a long time. I love that there are 3 delicious choices and most of all a unscented available. My favourite of the lot would be the Caramel Cream one followed by the Unscented. I don't really like applying lip products with my fingers so I'm a bit on the fence with that but I think they are definitely well worth a purchase as they have quite a lot of product in them and work well.

Unscented: No scent of course. Moisturising, long lasting. Great size tin. Not sticky. But a tad slick or greasy but soaks in well.

Caramel Cream: Very sweet. My favourite of the bunch. Again, moisturising. A great night lip moisturiser. Love the tins, like how they're quite flat. Not bulky. Not sticky. Absorbs quickly.

Vanilla & Macadamia : My least favourite of the bunch even though I adore Macadamia and Vanilla. It's not bad, It has a lovely sweet nutty smell but is a tad too sickly for me. The same consistency and formula as the others.

Yummy Vanilla & Macadamia Nut

This is a wonderful little pot of lip treat! Its a perfect little sized tin that can easily be slipped into your pocket, purse or handbag.

The texture of the butter is....well, buttery, its smooth but yet thick enough to give a nice coat of it on your lips with the smallest dot on your fingertip. Effective in keeping your lips super moist and preventing from chapping and drying out. Not sticky or tacky and lasts as a balm on your lips for a good solid 5-6 hours before the need to top up to keep super hydrated.

Highly scented with vanilla with just the right nutty-ness from the macadamia to make a scrummy fragrance upon your lips, that does die down pretty quickly once applied but it is nice while it lasts. There is nothing flawing this little beauty, the tin is easy to open and closes tightly after use as well so you don't have to worry about the lip butter collecting heaps of fluff or dirt from when you have it in your pocket.

Tips: Be aware if this is your first pot, its not hard like a balm so don't go plopping your finger straight into it (like I did!!) as its more buttery so doesn't need to be dug at to get out, swiping across the top is all you need.

Hmmm.... Yummyness in a cute tin!

This is another product that Shannon Harris recommended to her viewers and of corse she raved about it so I thought (again) Ive gotta try it!

Soo glad I did, Im not usually a big person for applying a lip balm/ butter. I either just simply forget to or just find that some brands just dont improve my lips. But this has helped me to get into a routine of applying it for sure!

I do only apply this once a day, sometimes 2 times depending on the condition of my lips but I honestly just cant get enough!! To start with it smells soo dam god! I have the Vanila and Macadamia nut flavour and yes it has the right amount of smell, nothing too overwhelming which is great (Im very keen to try the caramel one and see if I feel the same about it). Obviously this is a lip butter and NOT a lip balm so yes it does have a lovely buttery consistantcy and I truely reckon that this formular is a lot more nourishing than a balm as this is slightly absorbed by the lips instead of just creating a barrier and sitting on the surface. It works great for lips that are windburnt too!

Just a couple of things about this product. In my eyes its nothing major but I thought maybe for those of you who may want to know. I personally like the tin that its in, its nice and secure and could come in handy when all the product is gone but some of you may not like it as you may not find it hygenic, simply because you are putting your fingers into the tin to get the product out. At the end of the day as long as you are nice and clean with your hands and you are not applying it to any affected areas (ie coldores) then bacteria levels should be fine. Also this does not have an SPF in it so its not going to protect your lips from the enviroment (the sun and weather) which is the main casue of dryness to skin and lips but for the price of it what do you expect!

I do recommend this product to anyone of you who doesnt mind using their fingers to apply a lip butter/ balm and who needs something nice and nourishing for all levels. Its a great size, smell and yummy consistantcy at a good price and once again is somewhere nice an convientient. What a way to get us spending more money on our groceries! :P

Tips: As I did mention in my review, this does not have an SPF in it so it is not going to protect your lips from the sun. This is essential, especially if you do suffer from dry cracked lips. Soo... you guessed it, apply your daily SPF over top of your lips and have this sitting underneath, that way you get nourishment and protection in one. This is a great combo for those of you who work or spend most of your time outdoors!

Dont worry! For us who work inside with aircon Ive got a tip for you too! If you are needing just that little bit more to your lip butter, apply Pau Pau (I hope I spelt it right?! :-/) over top. This will be very helpful to those of you who do have very dry or even cracked lips. Pau pau will act as the barrier out of the 2 products and will help lock the butter into your lips rather than being taken away by the dry heat that an aircon or heatpump traditionally give.

I hope this has been helpful to some of you, I personally was someone who, when I was younger never had to apply a lip balm or butter just because I felt I didnt have to. But due to changes of age and enviroment it is a need for me now, ohh the joys of aging ;) x

Yummy !!

This gorgeous product starts by looking great in it's cute tin. I purchased it when I saw it on special at Countdown - originally to add to a Christmas present, but when I got home I couldn't resist keeping it for myself!

I have the vanilla and macadamia and I love it!

It is beautiful, creamy, smooth and soft in texture and has a divine aroma. It glides smoothly onto lips and smells and tastes more like a heavenly food product than a cosmetic.

It is rich and buttery as advertised and is hydrating to the lips, and it did make my lips feel soft and silky smooth as it said it would.

I do recommend it to everyone.

Tips: Buy two and keep one on your desk or in your bag, and the other by your bed so you always have some handy.

Raspberry Rose Kisses

Warehouse had a three dollar sale on this lip butter and I quickly snatched it up. I was deciding between Raspberry and Coconut but went for Raspberry. I haven't really tried lip butters yet. I first noticed these on supermarket shelves a couple of years ago. I like how you could easily throw one into your trolley if you want to.

This lip butter comes in a fully sealable tin. The labelling on this tin is clear. This pinky coloured tin instantly caught my eye on the shelf. The name of this lip butter that I have is Raspberry Rose. The consistency of this reminds me of a balm. It wasn't as buttery as I thought it might have been. This scent is a very very mild raspberry scent.

When I apply this to my lips it goes on smoothly. I've used over the last two weeks and can see my lips are hydrated and feel slightly soft. I noticed that I did need to keep applying this as it does come off with eating and drinking.

I think it is affordable to buy. It does work temporarily. I would like to buy it again to try different flavours out.
