Smooth Lips

This product has been great for my lips over summer.

It has a nice sweet taste that has you continually licking your lips and the shea butter makes them feel so soft.

Its packaged in a lipstick container and you apply it as you would a lipstick. You do not need to run it over your lips much for it to do a great job of removing the dry skin from your lips. It has zero mess and is so easy to apply. Great if you do not have the time to do a DIY version. I love that you can put in your handbag and use it whenever needed.

The only down side is that the granules can feel abit sharp when the moisturiser wears down but apart from that this product is amazing.

For the price and quality of this product I definitely continue to purchase this. Its a must have for dry lips.

Scrub, smooth and shine with sugar!

WannabeMUA inspired me to buy and try this recently. For a start it was $10 rather than the $4.99 listed here - but I wanted to try it so still bought it.

The product comes in a cardboard case housing a square-ish black tube. I initially thought the cardboard case was wasteful and unecessary but it actually has ingredients and usage tips so I was wrong.

The product looks like a big lipstick. You pull the cap off and reveal a classy black tube which you wind up to reveal the opaque brown flecked exfoliator. I LOVE that this applies like a lippy...no more messy pottle scenarios for me!

The flecks are the sugar granules and man are they awesome. They quickly buff your lips on application (which is as per any stick or gloss) and then melt into (or get licked fromhehe yum) your lips. As the sugar granules are embedded in a lip balm rich in vitamins and oils I see no need to follow packet instructions and remove this then follow with another balm. Instead I simply leave it to work its magic.

It smells divine... vanilla-esque, rich, soft and decadent...yum.

One use leaves you with softer lips and I can only imagine what extended use will achieve.

Have you ordered from iherb.com before Trudi? They do Elf stuff really cheap so you could get this for USD$3, and a whole lot of other products of course. I love to get my Real Techniques brushes there. If you order get the tracked shipping though.

Silky lips!

Was looking for a lippie while I was in Kmart one day and came across the e.l.f stand and noticed the lip exfoliator. I had seen someone on Snapchat (of all places!) use this (or something similar) and they absolutely raved about it so I grabbed it.

From memory it was about $10 (which I was quite happy to pay) and it is packaged like a lipstick (I mean the 'container' it comes in).

First impression? Wow! Just used it quickly on my lips and it exfoliated them so well, and conditioned them at the same time, my lips felt amazing! And plump from the stimulation.

Would definitely recommend this product to everyone, worth the $10 from Kmart that's for sure :)

Tips: Try not to eat it, it smells delicious

e.l.f Studio Lip Exfoliator

Love it! I really enjoy this lip exfoliation scrub and prefer it to the ones from Lush. I only paid 1.50USD and it was an absolute steal. It has a nice course, grainy texture that really buffs away yucky dry chapped lips. I have severely dry lips and this stuff does the job and keeps my lips nice and soft. The sheabutter in the scrub helps moisturize my lips and it also smells incredible.

I will forever purchase this scrub over the Lush one as the texture is gritty enough to heal dry lips and it does not make my lips itchy like the Lush one.

Favourite product

I love e.l.f. cosmetics. Their products are so affordable and such good value. This is one of my most favourite products from the brand and one that I will keep repurchasing. First of all, I love the smell of this. It's smells sugary sweet.

I love how it comes in a lipstick form. I have a lip scrub in a pot but I prefer this because I don't have to get my fingers dirty and it does the job. It really exfoliates my lips and makes lipstick application a lot better afterwards. You can't go wrong with this lip exfoliator it's a must have for me.

Tips: I got mine from iHerb which is around $3 but they're usually sold out too. Kmart has this for $10 which is still reasonable.

User friendly, cheap exfoliator

Before Beauty Review, I'd never even heard of a lip scrub but once I had joined up here and started getting into wearing lipstick, I realised how important it was to exfoliate so you get a nice smooth surface. The scrub I first tried was a lush loose one. It's lovely but I found it incredibly messy to use. Then I found about this elf one in a lipstick form and I was dying to try It out

First off, this comes in a nice sleek, black lipstick packaging. It looks just like a lipstick which is nice in a way but if you keep it with other lipsticks then it can be a bit harder to identify where it is. It does say lip exfoliator on one side but that's it. The packaging is reasonably secure, I think the lid might slip off if you kept it in a bag though.

When you open this up, you are greeted with a weird looking creation. Because of the exfoliating speckles in it, it kind of looks like a lipstick that has gone off!

I just apply this pretty much like a normal lipstick. I swipe it over my lips 3 or 4 times, and then wipe or lick the excess off. It tastes really sweet and it smells deliciously sweet too. After it's off, my lips are left smooth and they also feel like I've applied balm on top of them. I'm just starting to get into liquid matte lipsticks and I feel like this creates the perfect base for those lipsticks to sit on.

I have a couple of slight downsides to this product, nothing major. One is that sometimes the top of the stick is just the sugar so you have to wipe it off to get down to a balmy part so it glides nicely. And the other is that mine broke really easily while applying so I have to be a bit more careful now and not wind it up very high. I think though, that for the price you pay and how much easier it is to use compared to a loose scrub that the positives outweigh the negatives.

Tips: Don't go overboard with this product. Your lip skin is much thinner than normal skin and it doesn't take much to over exfoliate them.

Love it

Absolutely love this stuff! I saw this in the store and couldn't believe how cheap this was and thought I have to try this. Best lip exfoliator in my opinion. Not only does it smell and taste good, it hydrates lips as well as exfoliating them, leaving your lips soft and smooth ready for lipstick. This product is great for both just giving your lips an extra smoothness and shine or creating a soft pallette for any lipcolour.

ELF LipExfoliator Handy Cheap Lip Scrub In a Stick

I have Lush lip scrubs but I really like the handiness of having a lip scrub in a tube because it's less messy you also don't need to dip your fingers into a pot or worry about the grains going under your long nails. This scrub is one of the cheaper ones available on the market and it's pretty natural which I like because sometimes I'm too lazy to wipe it off and so I lick it off. The ingredients are sugar, avocado, grapeseed and jojoba oil, carnuba and candelilla wax, ceresin, shea butter and vitamin E. Before I heard of this lip exfoliator I was considering buying the lip scuff from the The Body Shop because it had the convenience of being in a stick format whereas this has almost all natural ingredients and it's a fifth of the price as the Body Shop one. The only cons I can think of this product is that there is a bit of tendency for little dry bits you exfoliated off your lips to stay on the stick. Another con is because it's so popular it's often hard to find because it's sold out. And lastly this does have aspartame in it which it an artificial sweetener I don't know why it needs it as it has plenty sugar in it already to sweeten it. Despite all that I do think it's one of the better lip scrubs on the market especially considering the ingredients and price and I will definitely repurchase when it's used up.

Tips: Don't wind the entire stick up when you want to use otherwise it could break out of the tube. If you don't like the idea of little flakes from your lips sticking to the scrub after you use it just wipe the tip of the scrub afterwards.

Great!

I have very dry lips, so I wear lip balm every night, and lipstick everyday to protect them. However, they still get dry and peel a lot. This is not only uncomfortable, but it makes it difficult to wear matte lipsticks as my dry lip skin shows through. I decided the solution was to use a lip exfoliator.

While there are plenty of lip balms to be found, I had trouble finding an exfoliator for the lips. This is the first one that I have tried. I came across it after a search on Amazon. I am very pleased I found it. Not only is it quite cheap, but it has made such a difference to my lips!

The scrub comes in a square, bullet lipstick tube, and winds up like a lipstick. You apply it to your lips like a lipstick as well. I use it in the shower everyday. It really does help to remove dead skin from my lips, and since I started using it a couple of months ago I have definitely noticed an improvement in the texture of my lips.

The only drawback is that the scrub is very sweet. Although you are not meant to ingest it, you cannot help but taste it when applying it to your lips. The sugar flavour is far to sweet for me so I don't enjoy tasting it.

Altogether I love this product and I have already repurchased it.

Tips: Apply it to your lips in the shower, then it is easy to wash off.
