Neutrogena Pore Refining Daily Cleanser Review

I brought this about two weeks ago, mainly because it was on special at countdown. I've been having issues with my pore size for a while now and was starting to feel abit worried about it. Since using this cleanser I have noticed that my pore size has decreased. Nothing dramatic but enough for me to notice. I am a smoker (I am trying to quit) which I know can contribute to enlarged pores as well as age. Maybe if I quit smoking soon it would help the product a lot more. I'm very happy with the changes I've noticed so far by using this cleanser. My skin also feels a lot smoother and my skin tone us looking more even. I'm looking forward to see how my skin looks in another two weeks. Will definitely be making this a part of my usual skin care routine. I am going to be investing in the exfoliator in the same range to see if this helps more.

I have tried most products by neutrogena (except the wrinkle cream, not yet luckily). While I like their moisturiser and sunscreen, I was not a big fan of the cleansers. Not until this. I have combi/oily skin and most cleansers make my skin really dry after using. But this one is purrrrfect! It leaves my skin with moisture after wash.

I have pores, mostly around my nose. Having used this cleanser for 2 weeks with the toner, I feel a little difference as my pores seem to be smaller. However, the effect is not that clear so I think I would continue to use the toner+cleanser.

The bottle is quite convenient to use daily but not really good for travelling.

Overall, I def. gonna use this cleanser as it really suits my skin type and it's not that expensive. Around 10$ on special sale.

I was lucky enough to get this from the BR beauty vault <3. The bottle is really trendy and I love that it is a pump so you don't need to worry about pouring out too much. It's a 198ml (they should have just made it 200ml) and I feel good value for money. I have been using it for about two weeks. The cleanser itself smells clean, and a little bit ...chemically? (Which doesn't bother me at all) It lathers up really nicely. and feels great on my face. I do happen to have large chasm sized pores; primarily on my nose. I feel that this hasn't MADE them "smaller" per se, but I do feel that they seem to have become cleaner? So in hindsight, it does make pores "look" smaller because my pores weren't as full of gunk as they usually are. I would definitely buy this and the other products in the pore refining range and would recommend to anyone else who heartily dislikes their large pores.

I used my points to pick up the cleanser and exfoliator from this range in the vault, and had to go out and buy the toner too to really test out the range! Overall I did quite like the products but I didn't notice any kind of change in my pore size or texture so I can't say that they did what was promised. What I liked about this cleanser was that it is a foaming gel which I really like, and I felt like it did clean my face quite effectively. I also quite liked the scent which was slightly sweet and fruity but not at all overpowering.

I purchased this with high hopes that it would help clear up my pores but it ended up drying my skin and i always had that tight almost painful feeling after using. worse, my skin was so dry i had flaky skin in my Tzone!

I normally use a cream cleanser but purchased this at the Warehouse when I could not find a cream cleanser and I had run out of product. The packaging is plain but clean and sturdy with a pump action on the bottle which definitely makes it easier. The product is a light blue liquid (of which you only need a very small amount). When combined with water if foams up and cleans beautifully. It has a light fragrance not unlike shampoo but not lasting. So far so good. After cleansing the face thoroughly it left my skin feeling exceptionally tight so I slathered on the moisturiser and it immediately felt normal. I used it for a month and think it is definitely meant for a young, oily skin. There was no difference to the size of the pores at all but it did leave a few small flaky patches on my face which indicates it is not the correct product for a normal to dry skin as far as I am concerned. No I would not use it again and would probably not recommend it to anyone else.

Its good, really drying, does what its meant to but always leaves me feeling a bit tingly and stingy. Guess thats the 'not oily skin' thing. I have the grapefruit one... smells really nice, and the pump bottle is super handy.

I saw this at the Warehouse and being that I am obsessed with trying to make my pores smaller, I knew that I had to try it.

The first thing I noticed about it when I first tried it was the smell. It had a very chemically smell to it.

One pump is definitely enough. You could even get away with half a pump to get decent foaming action of this product.

I liked the way my skin felt after using it. Felt nice and soft. After moisturising it felt incredible. However when applying my foundation, well, to me it looked like my pores were getting bigger, not smaller.

I have only been using this for about a month now, and I may get the other products in this range to see if it makes a difference with my pore size.

At the moment I am just using it for the purpose of cleansing my face, not for the minimising of my pores.

I have normal to dry skin....somewhat combination really...I am also 37 years old!

I was sent this cleanser from the lovely beauty crew as a prize for a competition, I was super excited to try it as i have quite large pores on my nose and extremely oily/shiny skin on my T zone, and thought this could be a product to help.

It smells nice and feels great when you massage it over your face with it its thick creamy consistency and it definitely cleaned my skin well, it took off all of my waterproof make up.

In all, i used it about 5 times and HAD TO STOP. I have very sensitive, dry skin... This cleanser VERY QUICKLY turned my skin into a super dry flakey mess! Within those 5 days of using it, my entire face looked terrible, (like after you get sun burnt and your skin starts peeling/ flaking). SO GROSS! Trying to Putmakeup over top of this mess just mad it look worse :(

I THEN READ THE BACK OF THE BOTTLE AND FOUND THIS! DIRECT QUOTE; Sunburn Alert: this product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.

UMM WHAAAAAT?!

I use sunblock AND wear makeup that has SPF15+ every day and i still had this reaction, i would hate to think what my skin would have been like without it! I have gone back to using essential oils to cleanse and applying pawpaw ointment at night all over my face to intensely moisturise my skin (which feels icky but my goodness it works wonders) thankfully after a couple of days doing this, my skin is slowly recuperating. PHEW!

I'm not sure if this happened just because i have sensitive skin or not but i had to write this review to put it out there. Many others people love this product though so it could work for you.
