Neutrogena Pore Refining Exfoliating Cleanser Review

I have been using this scrub for a couple weeks now after buying it on a whim when my previous cleanser ran out. I use micellar water each night for make up removal and then use this exfoliator every morning while in the shower, a little bit goes a long way and it leaves my skin feeling nice and clean without feeling overly tight or dry (I have combination skin that tends to get oily by the end of the day) I have noticed a slight reduction in pore size, nothing drastic but I'm still giving it time as you can never expect amazing results immediately :) Would consider repurchasing when this eventually runs out but i can see this lasting for a long time still as the bottle itself is huge compared to other cleansers I would usually buy.

I purchased this hoping that it would be a good cleanser and would make my pores less noticeable. I really liked the consistency of the product, it has very fine beads that are not too harsh but you can feel them working. My skin does feel smoother after using this product. However, the product irritated my eyes (even when trying to avoid using it anywhere near my eyes) and I felt like I had to cleanse with another product to get rid of the remaining cleanser on my face. Also, I really didn't see any improvement in my pores, and I didn't feel like the product really cleaned my face. I wouldn't buy again, but as with most skincare this may work fabulously for others.

I received this in the last vault and was pleased because I had seen it reviewed on BR. The packaging is good value for money, a large tube (198mls) which is going to last a long time, as you only need a squeeze of the tube big enough to fill your palm. It's soap-free, which is good for me as my skin can be sensitive at times. My skin is combination with an oily t zone. The fragrance is not unpleasant, but slightly chemical. It's mild enough to be used daily, but I use it every second day. I have been using it for several weeks, now, and have noticed the texture of my skin has improved. The pores seem less noticeable, too. I would recommend for anyone who wants to improve the texture of their skin and pores.

I bought this on a whim, we'd just moved house and I had lost the cleanser I had been using and grabbed this while doing a super quick food shop.

I used it that night and let me tell you, I haven't used it since. First, it has microbeads (which I didn't notice on the packaging because I was in such a rush) which I'm not a fan of because they're so bad for the environment. The scent is horrible, and if that wasn't bad enough, it broke me out.

In the past, most neutrogena products haven't working for me, so maybe it's just me, but I really do not recommend this product.

Honestly, I wanted to like this based off of reviews.

I went to my local drugstore and picked this guy up and used it the next morning. I only used about a pea-size, maybe a little more. It lathers up very nicely and has a non-distinctive scent to it. The beads aren't harsh and you can feel the cleanser working - although it is VERY drying.

I have normal/oily skin and found it left my face very matte throughout the day and quite dry - so you WILL need to use a rich moisturizer afterwards.

Personally, this just wasn't for me. Too drying.

I use this product a few times a week after cleansing first, and I'm 3/4s through my bottle (which is a generous size for the price - and it is regularly on sale in most supermarkets). While I will use it all up (I HATE wasting product), I won't be repurchasing. It's a nice enough exfoliator and hasn't made my acne prone skin any worse or made my skin flake like other Neutrogena products have in the past, but it doesn't actually do what it promises. I haven't seen any change in the appearance of my pores - plus it contains polyethylene beads - the type that are polluting the environment, and stings my eyes so badly on removal!

So far, I have seen better results from primers which mask my pores temporarily and can be used with or without make up over top.

The product is excellent value, a large tube for $16 - how great is that! It's a nice consistency for a cleaner, not too thick or cloying, and the micro beads are very subtle and not scratchy.

In terms of cleaning, it works well as a make-up remover. It removed almost all my make up with very little effort. Where my criticism comes in is that I found it very drying. Using the Pore Refining Toner afterwards made things even worse - my skin felt so dry even after I applied a moisturiser.

I also didn't notice any improvement to my pores from using the cleaner unfortunately (I might have been able to ignore the dryness if I had). For me this product isn't something I'd buy again, it just didn't perform as I would have liked.

This is a great cleanser which I would definitely recommend to a friend. It has a thin, milky consistency and has a small proportion of exfoliating beads throughout. Unlike Neutrogena's pure exfoliants, it is not predominantly made from the beads, so it is not overly harsh on skin. The cleanser is odourless, applies easily, massages well into the skin and lathers up nicely so you can feel it working. The exfoliant beads work to remove dead skin, whilst the cleanser cleans our your pores. Afterwards skin is left feeling fresh, clean and smooth. I use this product every morning, as I feel that the gentleness of the exfoliant beads is not too harsh on my sensitive skin. I still get breakouts, but overall I feel my skin has improved after using this product.

Awesome big size & would last a long time but I found that it's didn't reduce the size of my pores & really dried my skin out. Was a good exfoliate but again quite drying and I found that it stung my eyes. It is a very rough product and I couldn't use everyday as it dried my skin too much and made it quite sensitive to use everyday. This product wan't for me :(
