Don’t recommend this product

I tried this out, and unfortunately was allergic to it. I had a stinging and burning sensation as soon as I used it, then washed it off. Although I washed it off quickly, I still came out in a red rash on my cheeks.

Tips: Definitely not a good idea for sensitive skin.

Not my favourite Micellar cleanser

I was excited to try the new Cleansing Milky water Micellar from Garnier. Unfortunately I really don't like it for several reasons, which will become clear. The bottle shows a milky liquid, but when you try and tip it out, it is very thick and viscous, in fact it doesn't even soak into a cotton pad, it just sits on the top of the pad and you have to quickly get it to your face without it dribbling off. It also seems to soak into your skin and although it does remove the makeup it also leaves a slightly sticky residue, which feels a bit unpleasant. The worst aspect of it, dare I say it, that without being crass , it does remind me of some sort of bodily fluids and I just can't get past this to use it regularly on my face .As soon as I used it , I read some other reviews, I noticed a couple of other people had thought the same about it. It may sound silly but I can't get past the way it looks and that together with it soaking into the skin and having to rinse it off, I really didn't like this product .

Not for the sensitive type

I tried this when I couldn't get my normal balm cleaners so I thought this might be ok as a first step to take off my makeup before I clense unfortunately this stung my face and ended up breaking out my skin is normal to dry and this just wasn't for me I didn't like the texture either was very sticky just a bit of an odd formula

Not much of a 'water'

I love micellar water, it wipes away even the most stubborn mascara, with ease. It literally feels like water, and does not leave my skin feeling dry like other cleansers. I was intrigued by this milky micellar water, because the main thing I enjoy of regular micellar water, is the fact that it looks and feels like water. This milky water did what it promised, it removed make up and cleansed my skin with ease, however I am not a convert just yet. It had a weird, paint-like, smell to it, which takes away the feeling of it being a 'water'. It also left my skin with a slightly stickey, dewey feel. I don't like this, it makes me feel like I still need to wash my face. I ended up wiping my face with warm tap water to finish the cleanse, because it felt like I needed to rinse off this milky water (bottle says you don't need to though?!). SO anyway, I'm going back to my original micellar water and gifting this one to my sister (who tried it and liked it.)

Tips: -Wet your face cloth and wipe your face after using. -A little goes a long way!

Sticky icky

I picked this up from Countdown in my regular weekly shop . I’m all about Micellar water as it helps assist with my make up removal . I wear a full face to work every day .

Packaging represents the garnier brand well pink and clear bottle . You can see this milky water . Consistency reminds me of blobbly cloudy gel like . Nothing like water . I was expecting it to be more fluid like the micelar water . Not the case her . I put a patch of it on my jawline it felt stingy and sticky . My skin definitely did not like it . My skin was left blotchy with red marks days later I had dry patches . I don’t know why this was happening . I’ve never had problems with my other micellar waters from this brand .

All I can say is this was not suitable for my skin type which is combination skin . Instead I’ve been using it as a brush cleaner which doesn’t seem to bother my skin this way . Even though this happened for me might not happen for others.

Not For Me.

The good things about this product are: affordability, it’s easy to use, no unpleasant odours, attractive packaging, my sensitive skin didn’t react and it’s a good sized bottle. Plus my skin does feel lovely and soft. But did it remove my make up properly? No. It was particularly ineffective on eye make up. Did my skin feel refreshed & fully cleansed? No. My skin felt like it had a plastic coating on it after I used Garnier’s Micellar Milky Water and I’ve had a major breakout. At 47 my days of pimples & spots should be well behind me. Is one cotton pad enough? No. I don’t use heavy make up & even on no make up days I was using 2-3 pads before they showed no signs of make up and following up with eye make up remover to remove mascara properly. Overall this product feels like a waste of time and money and I’ll be sticking to a cleanser, water & clean face cloth.

Tips: I can see how Garnier Micellar Cleansing Milky Water would be ideal as a pre-cleanse softner for someone who uses a full face of make up but I wouldn’t rely on it to remove all traces of that make up.

Not quite right...

I found the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Milky Water an annoyingly in in-between product. It was too thick to be a micellar water, while also being too runny in consistency to be able to be used as a cleanser. It would not soak into cotton pads, and was too drippy to rub onto my face properly. In all honesty, it didn't really do a great job at ridding my face of make-up either, always leaving me with a shadow of panda eyes.

Tips: If you decide that you must use this product, it is probably best being applied using just your fingers, and then removed with a wet flannell. I would suggest cleansing properly afterwards to attempt to remove the remaining residue and grime!

Average

I received this in a black box. I found it to not be the most effective in removing stubborn eyemakeup.

It could be unrelated but I had allot of breakouts around the time I was using this product, I feel it wasn’t right for my skin and caused them.

It doesn’t have a smell, the texture is nice and it doesn’t sting if you get it in your eyes so these things are a bonus.

Tips: Wash off afterwards properly to avoid any skin problems like blemishes like I experienced

Prefer the OG

I was quite excited when I saw this was released! I love the Garnier original micellar water so was super keen to give this a go.

It comes in the same sturdy bottle the original comes in and has a great pourer - just the right amount comes out. I use about two drops per cotton pad for it to get rid of all my makeup.

The consistency is a thick liquid - kind of like moisturiser and the smell is just....clean smelling, which is perfect for what it is in my opinion!

It does remove makeup pretty well but I do feel I need at least two cotton pads for it to do my entire face properly. I usually use a third as well just to make sure there's no little bits left.

Compared to the original I do find that it leaves my skin feeling a little bit more moisturised but nothing to rave about.

I prefer the original as it feels fresher and cleaner and a bit easier because of the consistency. This one feels a bit weird wiping off my mascara and I find it makes my eyes sting a little.

This product is fine and I know I'll use it up. But would I repurchase? Probably not.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Milky Water

I have tried a few Micellar cleaning waters and have to say I prefer the milky consistency of the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Milky Water. I found it to effectively remove my makeup with no irritation to my dry sensitive skin but unfortunately it did cause irritation to my eyes meaning I needed to use a separate eye makeup remover. Personally I like to be able to use one product to do the lot so it won't be at the top of my list for future purchase
