Awesome At Home Tool

What an awesome little tool which is something different to the arsenal of tools I already own. Having recently tried cool sculpting I’ve have recently become interested in body tools not just face ones. Firstly this product is pretty reasonable, and with a reputable brand. The device itself appears and feels sturdy. I had to charge before first use, instructions were a little hard for me to understand and a few attempts with my skin sucked ensured! Once I had the hang of the device it felt pretty cool, more like a massage with suction - I haven’t let it sit on my skin for prolonged periods to see the damage this can cause. Def read the instructions where it notes to moisturise first! This makes things so much easier and helps cut the time and effort down hugely. I’m really trying to get in the habit of moisturising nightly and needing to use this device daily really helped. I have had this product just over 2 weeks so really not enough time to see if cellulite and firmness has changed. However I can already tell this product makes you feel like you are treating and taking time out for yourself. It’s a great massage and is definitely invigorating the skin. I will update if I notice cellulite reduction, however I feel this helps moisturiser sink in and absorb so is helping with moisture loss which will then help with a few of my other skin concerns being dryness, flaking and stretch marks and itching from the dryness. Id recommend this to just give it a go, there are so many facial products and not many for the body.

Weird but Good!

I wasn't sure what to expect with this - what would it feel like? Would it hurt? Would it be any good?

Firstly - there are very scant instructions so I had a look on the website and watched the video. Evidently I was over-complicating things haha, you literally turn it on and just run it up the area you're targeting.

The key thing to remember before you start: The suction can be quite strong, so familiarise yourself with the 'release' button.

It feels really... weird is the best word. Your muscles start contacting like those old fashioned ab belts but as you're constantly moving it it feels more energising and less twing-y. The suction is sort of massaging but it doesn't feel like a relaxing massage.

You'll likely be surprised by the feel of the targeted areas an hour or so later - you can feel they've been worked on.

Over the last few weeks I've been using this on my thighs only. That's 10 minutes a day / nearly an hour a week. Have I noticed an improvement? I actually have! The skin texture feels and looks more even, less dimply even.

I will continue use and update but right now, I'm very happy with the performance and results so far.

Not bad as a massager, but it’s not really firming

Now I don’t have really saggy skin, I would say my body skin is quite good for a 37 yo. I don’t work out, so I have a bit of body fat, but I use a body lotion on a daily basis, so my skin is pretty good. The device looks pretty awesome and impressive, and it indeed is quite cool to use. The suction of this device is really strong so you do need to use some power to move the device along the skin while it is sucking on your thighs! The roller gives my skin a massage and as I got used to the strength and motion, I got better at it. 3-5 mins a day really isn’t a lot to ask for, but don’t expect your dimples or cellulite to disappear because it won’t. The application of body lotion or body oil will smooth the skin and the massage will improve skin texture and remove water retention.

Tips: Remember to use a body lotion or better yet, a body oil. Once the device is vacuuming the skin, get it moving instead of sucking at one spot.

Almost ready for summer

Starting with the good - I think the skin tone and minor imperfections got better over the week I tried this and it was easy to use. I’ll use it for a few more weeks to see if it helps any of the deeper lumps and bumps. Could’ve had better instructions in the box, in the end I found a video online showing how to use it. Initially I didn’t move it fast enough and my skin got quite red but it soon calmed down. I didn’t like where the handle was and ended up holding the head of the machine so it was easier to move up my leg. Hasn’t made any different to the deeper bumps and lumps yet, the box says noticeable difference in 8 weeks so there’s still time to see a difference in those. Also do listen to the instruction about using moisturiser, it helps move it along better.

Tips: Check out YouTube for how to use video

It needs better instructions

I was really excited to try the Manicare Firming Body Sculptor as I have never had a salon grade device at home, and I am not someone who likes to spend money on going to a beauty salon. At the same time, I like to look healthy and fit, and the cellulite on my legs has been something that has been bugging me for many years. When I opened the packet I was impressed with how well made the Body Sculptor looks and feels, and it has a shape that makes it very comfortable to hold. What I did not like was that it came with very limited instructions, and this is my main reason for not giving it a higher rating. The box contained some items that were not described anywhere, and it took me a while to figure out that they must be little replacement filters that sit over the inlet of the vacuum pump. There is no guide as to when they should be changed. Also, the device has a switch on the side that can be moved between “1” and “2”, but there is no information what the switch is for. I tried to find out more by scanning the QR code on the box, hoping that it would take me to a manual for the device, but it only took me to a website with exactly the same information that is also printed on the box. For such a technical device I was very disappointed to get so little information on how to use it correctly. When I started using the Sculptor I started with both the EMS and the lipo setting on 1, as advised, but I could not feel anything. I increased the intensity over the next few days to a 3 for EMS and 2 for lipo, and the treatment duration for each area to 5 minutes. This gave me a treatment that feels like a “good workout”, and I will soon increase it a bit more. I will also try to find out what the 1/2 switch on the side of the device does. Maybe it makes more intensity levels available? However, the instructions on the internet say that the device has 5 EMS settings, and these are all accessible with the switch in the “1” setting. The EMS uses electrical impulses, and I can feel them make my muscles twitch, so they are surely strong enough. The advice is to use the device 5 days per week and have two rest days, and I have been sticking to this. I have only had the device for 2 weeks for this trial, and so far I cannot see any change in the firmness of my skin in the areas I have been treating. However, according to the website, the change observed by others was after 8 weeks, so I will keep going. My skin is definitely well moisturised as you use a lot of moisturiser with the Sculptor. The downside is that the Sculptor gets covered in moisturiser, and it has lots of hard to reach places that are impossible to clean. It came with a little brush, but this is not suitable for removing moisturiser from the device. If the Body Sculptor reduces my cellulite and makes my skin firmer I will change my rating, but right now I am not convinced by this device.

She packs a punch

Ok first things first, it did take me a while to get the hang of it. It gave me a bit of a fright because I wasn’t expecting the suction to be so strong (it’s a good thing). It’s a light weight device that comes with a detachable suction cup with two little rollers inside and small bag of replacement filters. It’s cordless too which is amazing because all you have to do is charge it and away you go. The battery life is very impressive, I have only had to charge it twice over the two week period which is a huge plus for me.

The machine itself is small but wow she packs a punch (in a good way). I have a lot of cellulite on my upper thighs so throughout this trial I only focused on this problem area. I wanted to do a comparison between my two thighs so I only used this machine on my right thigh. It’s recommended to use it for 3-5 minutes every day for maximum results.

Somedays I had used it a couple times throughout the course of the day because I was so excited about the results I was seeing. Compared to my left leg, my right leg is so much smoother and I can now see a pretty impressive difference between the two. My skin is firmer with less visible bumpy areas which is super super exciting!

For me I found that the easiest way to position myself when using this machine was me standing and resting my leg with a bent knee on the end of my bed. I found it was the better position for me to be able to use the machine properly without the suction being too strong prompting me to continuously use the release button like I was doing when I was standing upright in-front of the mirror lol. Finding the right position for you is 100% vital so you can get the full benefits of this product.

Overall I think this machine is fantastic and I am so excited to continue using it.

Tips: Make sure you use a decent amount of lotion when using this device, it makes a noticeable difference when you have enough lotion as the machine glides more effortlessly.

The jury is out

I'll just start by saying I don't think two weeks is long enough to really assess the effectiveness of the Manicare Firming Body Sculptor. Even all the promo material on the box and online talks about results over 8 weeks. So my aim is to keep using it and maybe come back and write another review.

I also decided to only focus on one leg rather than both so I had something to provide a comparison.

Now to the actual review.

When the box turned up I assembled this space age looking thing wondering what the hell I'd let myself in for! I put it on charge overnight although only 3 hours is needed apparently. (and I haven't had to recharge it since).

I was expecting more in the way of instructions. There wasn't even a booklet or any diagrams. Just some very simple instructions on the box. So I figured it can't be that hard, just do what it says. But there's no real explanation of what either EMS or Lipo functions are there for and what to use each setting for. The descriptions on the box are very vague so I really just guessed at it. I wasn't even sure I was holding it the right way up. Or whether that even mattered.

After a few attempts just using the box instructions I decided to go and investigate the Manicare NZ website. Here I basically found the same info as was on the box but at least there was a video. And YAY! I was holding it the right way up.

I'm still not sure if I'm using it correctly though and there's some info that I'd like more of that I could probably find if I hunted on the internet long enough but it shouldn't be that hard.

What do you use the EMS and Lipo settings for and is one more important than the other? How do you combine them?

How big is "a target area" that you need to work on for 3-5 minutes? Is it literally following the same path for 3-5 minutes or can you cover a larger area like one whole thigh for that time?

Is there a better time of day to use it? Like after a shower, early morning or after exercise?

After two weeks there looks like there could be some improvement in skin tone, but like I said, I don't think it's long enough to really play proper judge and jury.

Tips: Watch the video on the website first.

Manicare Firming Body Sculptor

I was lucky enough to be selected as one of the trial team members for this product. I don't think I would have ever bought one without the trial but I urge anyone reading to seriously consider it. The device is charged with an included USB cord and is cordless. The instructions make it clear that you need to apply a decent amount of moisturiser and I suggest you follow that advice as getting a good "glide" going is the difference between this working well and not. I must admit to being surprised by the lack of vibration when I first used it. There is none at all, instead tiny electric pulses are sent out of the two prong-like things inside the casing of the device. You start using the lower end of the two settings - Electronic Stimulation Muscle Technology (EMS) and LIPO Vacuum massage technique. I wouldn't say it hurt but the first couple of times I used it there was slight discomfort for the first minute or two. I never went above EMS 3 but did experiment with all 3 levels of LIPO suction. I used it for approx 10 mins a time every 2nd day on my buttocks, thighs and tummy. Results were almost instantaneous but they didn't really last all that long at first. I think with more usage they may continue to improve. My thighs and buttocks saw the most improvement in tone and reduction in the appearance of my cellulite. I also felt as though my muscles were a little more supple when working out too. After use I always used the included cleaning tools to clean the rollers as they tend to get a bit gunky with lotion.

Tips: Lotion, lotion and more lotion! Also start off slow on the intensity levels

Exciting high tech body solution!

I was really happy to be chosen to trial the new Manicare Firming Body Sculptor. I’ve been researching body firming devices for awhile now, but their price point was prohibitive. This Manicare body sculptor is affordable.

I googled the device to find out as much information as I could and read the instructional leaflet in the box to make sure that I followed the instructions.

I applied a thick layer of body moisturiser to my hips and thighs and did not massage it in. I set the EMS feature on the highest level and the lipo suction on the lowest setting. I then used slow gliding strokes up my thighs towards and over my hips.

The Manicare Firming Body Sculptor is quite a relaxing treatment with the EMS stimulation creating a very mild electrical charge. The LIPO suction however, provides quite an intense massage even on the lowest setting. However, this could be because I have a lot of fat and cellulite to treat. Also, there was the odd patch where I had not used enough moisturiser and this made the machine catch. When this occurred, I used the release button to remove the device from my skin.

The recommended treatment time is 3-5 minutes per day on the treatment area so it is very time efficient.

I really enjoyed trialling the Manicare Firming Body Sculptor as I could feel it working. I look forward to seeing the long term results from regular use in conjunction with my improved diet and exercise routine.

Tips: It’s essential to use a lot of moisturiser so buy a big tub of thick cream to use.

Smoother Skin But Not Much Else

The first time I used the body firming sculptor, I obviously hadn’t taken in all the instructions. Consequently when I found the suction way too powerful on my leg, I couldn’t figured out how to release the suction and it was quite painful. Make sure you have a good look at the button you need to press if you make this same mistake. I also found it didn’t glide very easily with body moisturiser. I switched to body oil and that was much better. I used Surmanti Lime and Coconut oil and that was perfect and it smells delicious. You need to use the massager on each part of your body you want to target for 3-5 minutes per day, 5 days a week. That’s quite a time commitment if, like me, you have a few areas that need improving. I decided for the sake of this review, I would concentrate on the front and back of my legs and my bottom. I realised that I would probably go through a whole bottle of my expensive body oil, so I purchased a large bottle of very inexpensive baby oil and that works really well. It’s a little difficult to do this on some areas of your own body. It would actually work much better if you were able to lie down and have someone else use the massager on the back of your body. The product says you should see a difference after 8 weeks, so it’s perhaps a bit unfair to have to do a review so quickly on this kind of product. In the short period I’ve used the massager, I saw no noticeable difference in my cellulite, nor did my skin appear any firmer. Maybe someone under 50 might see better results. I did feel that my skin felt softer, but that could also be a result of massaging body oil into my skin every day. If you’re willing to take the time to use this product, I could see how it might work. Would I purchase it myself based on my very short trial? Probably not, but don’t let that discourage you from giving it a go if you feel you can devote the time to using it 5 days a week. I will actually carry on trialling it and if I see any improvement after a few weeks, I will definitely post an updated review.

Tips: Use body oil rather than body lotion. The massager glides over your skin much better with the oil.
