SugarBaby Tan of the Hour

...and I've tried a lot!

I don't scrimp when it comes to self tan. I'm used to paying upwards of $50 and I'll generally get one to two uses from that.

I was surprised that this product was only $33, the tube is generous and the product goes a long way. It's economical for sure!

The smell is lovely. Sure there's a fake tan scent underneath the coconut, but the coconut does its job admirably and masks the unpleasantness well.

This is easy to apply, absorbs evenly and doesn't go blotchy. There was no clothing transfer during the developing time and showering was very easy and mess free.

The colour was incredibly deep, not in darkness so much as tone. You look like you have grown up in the tropics, naturally a sun kissed goddess.

I love that this is vegan and cruelty-free. I love the ease of application and the depth of colour. Most of all I love that this worked as well on my mood as it did my body - it gave me a real boost and made the last few weeks of winter brighter!

I was a little apprehensive when I saw the words 'ultra deep' Was I going to end up looking like an oompa-loompa? Was this going to be a TOWIE tan?

Never one to shy away from a BR trial, I decided to embrace the 'ultra deep' - and my oh my, am I glad I did!

This smells very tropical. They aren't exagerrating when they talk about all of the coconut in here haha, you will smell like a bounty bar!

I exfoliated well the night before using this. I used the nifty back applicator and a mitt for my legs, arms etc. I found this easy to apply, you could see where you'd already been and it spread and blended into the skin easily.

I went light on the knees and elbows and was pleased with the result on them, they didn't look dry, or darker than the rest of me.

The colour after 4 hours was sun kissed beach goddess. It was even, golden and smooth. My skin looked so good, and natural!

Ultra deep doesn't mean orange or brown, there's a depth to this tan that is really beautiful and natural.

I will be repurchasing and I will be raving about this to everyone!

This stuff is truly amazing! I have loyally been using another product for years but when I got offered to trial this I thought I'd give it a go. It goes on so smooth, no streaks or mess. Perfectly even and looks for all the world natural. From now on its sugarbaby all the way!!! :) it also feels gentle and mild....love it. Thank you for the opportunity to try it!

Probably a bit to dark for my liking so go easy on the application. But overall it did what it said, gave an even tan. The smell wasn't to over powering like some tans on the market. I quite like it. I'd use again.

I have used many fake tans but this one is definitely on top for me now!!! It is a gel like consistency I applied it with the sugar babe tanning mitt and it has an instant tint so it’s easy to see where you have been. Drys fast and doesn’t leave a sticky residue like some. The best part for me is that it didn’t have that gross fake tan smell for days that lots do, it is lightly scented and came out a lovely even golden tan. Highly recommend. The back applicator was fab and easy to use too!

I used this with the SugarBaby body mitt. It provides a good coverage and doesn't need to be washed off as the colour develops. I was worried it might be too dark so applied a light coverage and was very happy with the colour on my legs. There were no steaks, the product smells like coconut and leaves your skin feeling smooth.

My teenage daughter also used this and her colour has lasted 3 days and counting, still looking tanned with no streaks.

I have always loved Sugar Baby tanning products so when I heard about the new Tan of the Hour, self tan I had to give it a try. The packaging is very easy to read and attractive, very in keeping with the Sugar Baby brand. Upon opening the lid the scent was so nice, definitely smelt like the mix of coconut and vanilla that the label promised. The cream itself was very dark and decadent looking. Using my tan mitt it spread so nicely and gave an instant healthy glow to my skin. This instant bronze helped in making the application even as you can easily see where you have missed and smooth streaks. The back applicator it came with was a game changer and I don't know why I have never looked for one before. It made back application so quick and so even. As the tan developed I could see the depth of colour grow and being a very pale skinned individual I was a little worried it would be obvious it was fake. I was so surprised that even though it was dark, it looked so natural and didn't look too out of place on my skin. I really like this product and look forward to using it more as the weather gets warmer and my limbs come out of their winter hibernation.

I was super excited to try this as I am a huge fan of the Sugar Baby bronzer, but hate that it washes off.

This tanning lotion is pretty cool, the bottle looks great (and somehow eco friendly!?!) and the lotion is a dark brown almost gel like consistency. You can definitely see where you have applied, it goes on smoothly and evenly - a little goes a long way which I realised too late! - and dries quickly. It has a nice tropical scent but you can still smell it’s a fake tan until you shower or off.

It’s effective right away and goes really dark after a few hours. I put this on at night and wasn’t sure I had applied enough and woke up to a SUPER tanned bod! It’s definitely olive toned and picks up natural pigmentation on the skin, but it did settle a bit after a gentle exfoliation the next night. Even with the back applicator, it was quite tricky to get it even as the colour develops so dark. The longevity seems good too and lasts at least three days before going patchy.

This is definitely a welcome addition to my fake tan collection as I need all the help I can get. It looks a bit overly fake given it’s only just spring and I’m super tan, but for tropical holidays or in summer will look a bit more natural.

I have to admit, as much as I was looking forward to trying this product, I was a bit nervous. I'm no stranger to fake tan; I'm almost 40, and have been fake-tanning on and off since I was 15.

But, you see, I am very pale. Like, pasty pale, get sunburnt within five minutes of being in the sun without sunscreen, use the lightest shades of foundation I can find, that level of pale. And this tan is extra dark. So I was slightly worried that it would look unnatural on me. I usually go for a gradual tan, so as not to overdo it.

I exfoliated the night before, and applied the tan in the morning, making sure to first apply body lotion to drier areas like knees, wrists, elbows, and feet. The squeezy tube makes for easy application, and it was pretty quick, taking only about five minutes. The tint helps show where it's been applied. The back applicator was also very helpful for application. Great to have this included!

I know most people don't like the typical 'fake tan' smell, but I actually like it. However, this didn't really have that typical smell. I did notice a nice scent, but it's fairly mild, and didn't linger. I found that it dried down well, and didn't feel sticky.

The tan developed over a few hours, and I'm happy to say, it looks very natural! I'm sure it could be built up to be a lot darker with another application or two, but for me, one application is just right. It doesn't look overdone at all.

I applied it on Thursday morning, it's now Monday afternoon, and it still looks really good, and not at all patchy, so it lasts well too.

It's my new favourite for this summer!
