Really Impressed

I can't say enough good things about Dermalab Super Hydrating Moisturiser, I was impressed. I've used it for three days now and also have to hide it from my husband. It's super thick but soaks into the skin completely without leaving any greasy residue. The scent is light, fresh and reminds me of sweet cucumbers- not over powering but pleasant and natural. I used the cream on some carpet burn, elbows and calloused gym hands and saw results immediately. I loved that it left no residue because I could go right back to working on my computer without making my mouse and keyboard greasy. I also feel confident that when I have my next episode of psoriasis this cream will sooth it. I also love that its completely natural and made locally- cant wait to try other products from DermaLab.

Tips: A little bit goes a long way.

Good for dry hands

This moisturiser is quick thick so I didn't like it so much for my body, but it is perfect for my hands. It's very moisturising and the 150 ml bottle will last a long time as a hand cream. I have eczema and it's great for that, oatmeal and manuka honey are fantastic ingredients and so soothing. The smell is a bit funny, kind of natural and herbal? But to be honest I would rather have that smell than useless added fragrances.

Sorry I prefer my current moisturiser

I have used this product pretty much everyday since it arrived. Pros -Perfect for my sensitive skin -I love that it comes in 2 sizes Cons -The smell! I really didn't like the cucumber like smell -It doesn't absorb into the skin very well and I found that when tested with my current moisturiser it didn't keep the moisture in that well.

Tips: Start off with a small amount (pea sized) and add more if needed. I found that it didn't absorb into my skin that quickly so start small or it will get messy.

Dermalab Super Hydrating Intensive Moisturiser

I was sincerely impressed by this product. I have a nightmare time usually with moisturisers and my very dry, eczema prone and sensitive skin so had high hopes for this which were not disappointed.

The packaging is simple and it was easy to squeeze out the moisturiser. It could definitely come in a larger size as I don't think it will last very long if like myself you need to apply rather frequently to keep your skin hydrated.

I found the unscented lotion did not irritate my skin and although it took a few minutes to sink it - it left my skin feeling soft but not greasy. I applied it twice a day - once in the morning after showering and again the evening before bed (my eczema is severe so others probably won't need to do this so often). My skin feels much less itchy and more hydrated so I do feel like it is having a positive effect.

I like that it is reasonably affordable, an NZ product and uses natural ingredients. I do believe it is my new holy grail body moisturiser and would certainly recommend it to others suffering winter dry skin woes or those who like me are blessed with itchy, scratchy eczema.

Tips: Give it a few minutes to skin into your skin after applying unless you want moisturiser stains on your clothing.

Body moisturizer

I was delighted when I received the email saying that I had been selected for this trial (thanks BR!) as I would have gone out to purchase a tube if I hadn't anyways. The first thing I noticed was the simple exterior. The white and blue/green font complemented each other perfectly and I love the minimalistic feel about it. This product squeezes out easily too - yay! The scent is quite unique and I would call it just a 'natural' smell if that makes sense. Maybe faintly cucumber? The consistency is quite thick and definitely super hydrating! I did have to squeeze multiple times to get a sufficient amount of cream to cover my legs though. I didn't dare use it on my face as I have combination/oily skin that is prone to acne. I was afraid it would block pores and cause breakouts. This is perfect as a body moisturizer though!

Tips: Use as body moisturizer, not face!

Sooo hydrating!

I had been selected for the Beautyreview trial team, and have been using this product since it arrived in the mail just over a week ago, morning and night. It comes in a very easy to use squeeze bottle, where the hole is down the bottom, so it makes it easier to use once there is less product left in the bottle. Nice!

When I first squeezed it out, I noticed a very different sort of smell than I'd expected. Alot of 'natural' moisturisers often smell kinda floral, or like honey or rose. To be perfectly honest, I wasn't a fan of the Demalab Super Hydrating Moisturiser's smell, it sort of smells like cucumber and cream cheese.

I found that I was also not the biggest fan of the consistency- it sort of ends up quite thick . If you don't rub it in properly, you get these white bits on your face. However, this moisturiser had never claimed to be light, or nicely scented, so I can't really fault it too much. This moisturiser's main selling point is it's compatibility with dry, sensitive skin, even going as far to claim that it can soothe eczema, itching, rosacea, etc. As my skin has most of these problems, I was excited to try this. The first time I tried the product on my face, it left my skin feeling moisturised, and this feeling lasted the whole day, with the added benefit that my skin didn't look shiny. When combined with an essence and serum, the moisturising effect lasted even longer. But now, after using regularly every morning, I absolutely love it! It gives my skin an instant hydration which beats most moisturisers easily!

great for winter skin!

As always a little bit about my skin so you get the gist of what it'd working on. My skin is dry and very eczema prone. My skin is quite sensitive so o have to be quite picky with what products I use. The packaging for this moisturizer is pretty standard and I'd say typical of a product that has "a job to do". The smell isn't anything to rave about but isn't pungent in anyway. The texture is thick but very spreadable. It definately does have a cooling, soothing effect.a little goes a long way. It kept my skin feeling moisturized for a long time. Will most definatEly purchase again.

Tips: If your like me and use the dregs to moisturuse the face, I'd avoid doing that. Overloaded my face with moisture resulting in little teeny pimple things lol

Does the job

This is a really nice, inoffensive moisturiser that gets the job done. It’s not particularly fancy or exciting, but, like the tagline says, “it works”.

The packaging is plain and easy to use, in a wide squeezy tube that stands up on the lid (which will be really useful for getting all the product out at the end). It’s quite a unisex type of packaging, and I imagine it would appeal to (or at least not offend, haha) the majority of people.

It comes out as a very thick type of creamy lotion that keeps its shape, so not runny at all. A little goes a long way, and it stays white until properly spread out/rubbed in, so it’s best not to apply too much. I find a 10 cent coin amount is enough for one leg/arm, and so it is quite an economical product to use – I don’t think I’ll be running out of it any time soon.

As this is hypoallergenic, and supposedly fragrance free, I was quite surprised to find it has a very distinct fresh cucumbery scent to it. Reading the ingredients list, it’s possible this is actually the natural aloe vera scent. For me it’s not an issue, as I’m not irritated by it and I don’t mind the scent in and of itself, but it’s maybe something to be aware of if you were getting this because you thought it was completely fragrance free.

Once rubbed in, I find this takes only a couple of minutes to properly absorb, so it’s not too long like some richer body moisturisers (looking at you, body shop body butters!). Once absorbed, my skin is left feeling really soft and definitely hydrated. I have found that this lasts all day with no problems, and I don’t have to reapply before my next shower. I have also found that my elbows and knees, which tend to get a bit dryer, especially in the winter, have been kept nice and soft and I haven’t that problem at all which is great!

Overall, I do like this, and I will continue to use it up. I probably wouldn’t repurchase it myself, as if I’m going to have a product that is in fact scented, I’d like to get one that has a scent I’m really keen on. However, it’s something that I would recommend to others, as it does work, and is good value for a reasonable price.

Tips: Don't use too much, or it will take forever to absorb properly - a little goes a long way.

Super Hydrating Moisturiser

I received this product in the Beauty Vault.

Consistency - This product is extremely thick in consistency.

Fragrance - This product has a light cucumber scent and is not overpowering.

Coverage - A small amount of this product goes a long way, I use this daily on my arms and legs and this tube has lasted me weeks and is still going.

Price - This is a reasonably priced product maybe slightly dearer than a supermarket lotion.

Packaging - This product comes in a large squeezy tube. The packaging is simple and white black and green in colour. This product also comes in a larger size with a pump.

Results - This moisturiser provided my skin with the moisture it desperately needed. I apply this at night to my arms and legs, it can take a we while to sink into your skin so I don't use this in the morning. It leaves my skin soft and smooth the following day.

Skin type- I have very fair combination, blemish prone skin. I get an oily t zone but other areas of my face often get dry. Repurchase- I probably will repurchase this product because I do prefer a thicker type of moisturiser. I will however probably purchase the packaging with the pump.

Tips: Look out for this product at your pharmacy
