Aveeno body wash- not for me sadly

Was super excited to try this product, it sounded like the perfect product that would be suitable for my psoriasis on my forearms. With 50% off at countdown, it sealed the deal as $16 for a body wash seemed too expensive when my usual st ives was $6. Consistency was lovely, lightly fragranced but after 2 or 3 washes my skin flared up big time and it got angry and sore. Stopped using it and it calmed down quickly. Such a disappointment as it's designed for sensitive skin. Just use it on my legs and feet now because I don't want to waste it, but definitely don't use it all over. I won't be purchasing again sadly. My skin is sore enough without further flare ups.

Tips: Try and steal some off a friend to try if you do have a skin condition before you buy???

It's alright - cleaned but wasn't moisturising

As someone with eczema, I've used a fair few bottles of this. I don't reach for it every time, though, because I found it slightly too drying for my skin. The rating I've given it today is because I only recently found out that this has SLS in the ingredients. As a brand and product that regularly markets to those with sensitive skin, I feel like this is somewhat misleading. SLS can cause long-term skin issues, and isn't great for the environment either. Personally, there are better products on the market that are SLS-free. Another reason I'm not a big fan is the bottle. The flip lid is great for travelling but the opening means fiddling around and a lot of product tends to come out.

Tips: I personally found it quite slippery and drying. A little bit goes a long way.

Didn't work for my sensitive skin/ psoriasis

I have been hunting for a product to use in the shower and after reading great things about Aveeno and having tried their moisturizers with no problems I thought the body wash would be the same. Unfortunately I had the same result I get with many other wash products. It makes my skin go tight in the shower shortly after rinsing it off and leaves it stinging and burning. Much like how ordinary soap feels. I also tried the lavender one with a similar result. I still have it in the cupboard and I'm hoping I can give it another try if my skin clears up but for now that's where it will be staying. Just keep in mind I get psoriasis so this review is specifically for those with skin like mine. It's not to say I wouldn't suggest to a friend with normal skin that it won't work for them. I just wouldn't recommend it to someone with my skin type. If anyone does know of anything that could work for my skin type please let me know as I'm still on the hunt. My own coffee scrub has been keeping it settled for now- seems to be the only wash that works.

Sooo frustrating isn't it :( I've actually found the St Ives washes to be a bit milder...I'll just keep looking and trying I guess :(

Was lucky enough to win

this product. I loved the natural colours of the packaging. The bottle is a great shape, making it easy to hold and use a good amount. I found it hydrated my skin, and easy to work into a good lather. It did flare my skin up a small amount, not enough to stop using but enough to stop me purchasing this again. I also noticed it left a film on the bath which was quite hard to get off and made slippery as well, which made it unsafe for my children to use in the shower. Over all it's a good product, but not for extremely sensitive skin like I have

Soft & Clean

I spotted this bottle of Aveeno Daily Moisturising Body Wash at my local pharmacy, it was sitting on the 50% off table, as it was near it's expiration date.

Aveeno Daily Moisturising Body Wash is packaged in a 354ml cream-coloured plastic bottle with a green flip top lid and the soap-free gel lathers up really well, only a small amount is needed on a shower pouf to create a rich, creamy lather.

The splurb on the back of the bottle says "...combines natural colloidal oatmeal (long known to retain moisture and soothe skin) with a unique blend of natural oil and emollients to lock in moisture. This creamy, lightly fragranced formula lathers gently then rinses clean, resulting in softer, smoother, healthy looking skin long after you shower. And it's soap-free, dye-free and even gentle enough for sensitive skin". It's also 'dermatologist recommended'.

It has a soft, clean, fresh scent and I like that it's a dual-purpose product; not only can it be used as a body wash but it can also be used as a shaving lotion. Simply apply it directly onto legs before shaving.

I honestly don't know if I would have purchased this if it was full price and will probably only repurchase if I see it on special somewhere.

Tips: Keep a look out at your local pharmacy or department store for their clearance table or clearance bins, you may be able to pick up a bargain.

Is a must for sensitive skin .!

Aveeno is an amazing brand for people who have sensitive skin. This brand is actually good in terms to quality and what they say each product is meant for. The moisturising cleanser Is not harsh to the skin and has is soap free and dye free and is hypoallergenic . :)

Ahhveeno Body Wash

This was one of first body washes I bought, since I bought the lotion I wanted the matching body wash to go with it. Originally it had a low EWG rating which is why I bought it along with the body lotion, but the rating gone up since. I found this body wash to be non-irritating or dry my skin out like some other brands. I do have sensitive skin and it's prone to redness after I shower but I didn't have as big a problem when I was using this. It has a nice, neutral scent and can be found at the supermarket. Used with a shower puff the bottle lasted me a long time. The only reason I stopped buying this was because it had SLS and I switched to SLS-free washes and shampoos. But I still think this is one of the better more gentle body washes you can find at the supermarket and if I had to go back to supermarket brands I would definitely choose this one. I would highly recommend this body wash to whoever doesn't mind SLS and goes for supermarket brands.

Tips: Wait till it goes on sale at supermarkets, the warehouse and pharmacies and then stock up. If you use a shower puff you'll go through the bottle a lot slower.

Was using Organic Care until the supermarkets stopped stocking it. Now I'm currently using Moreish, but brands like Sukin, A'kin, Trilogy, Antipodes, are supposed to be SLS free. Unfortunately I haven't found any cheap options to replace Organic Care

Great review, just wondering what body washes are SLS free?

Really nice

Have always loved Aveeno baby so I was keen to try the body wash for myself. My skin is only slightly sensitive but I really loved this product for my skin. Didn't dry me out like a lot of brands. Had a nice natural feel and smell. Th only reason I may choose another brand over this in the future would be price.

Love this stuff

I have previously only used more expensive professional products in the shower, but when I saw that this had the colloidal oatmeal I thought I would give it a try. I love the foam it produces makes you feel really clean but doesn't dry out your skin. I also prefer cleanser with no perfume so it ticks that box. It is more expensive than other products and the supermarket but it lasts for ages and I think it is really good value.

Tips: you only need a little bit to get a really good foam

Good!

Great for sensitive skin, one of the few products I found that worked well. Pity they've changed the range though, can't find this product in my supermarkets anymore!
